Chapter 731

Thalassa’s cheeks turned a vibrant shade of pink. “Don’t get the wrong idea. I was just up late at night, thinking.”

Why the blush then?” Betty’s eyes were focused on Thalassa.

Thalassa avoided her gaze. “Am I? I don’t see any blush.”

“Anyway, you seem quite cheerful today. Did you score big on the business trip with Mr. Ethan yesterday?” Thalassa skillfully steered the conversation away, hoping to avoid Betty’s prying questions.

Upon hearing this, Betty’s smile deepened. “Mr. Ethan and I had dinner together last night. He mentioned that the Sinclair Group agreed to collaborate with us thanks to you. Thalassa, do you know someone at the Sinclair Group?”

Thalassa got it. Betty’s glowing face and incessant smiling made sense now. Thalassa took a sip of her coffee and calmly answered her. “Didn’t we discuss this? Mr. Ethan knows the president of the Sinclair Group.”

“Thalassa, quit being modest. Mr. Ethan credited you for the deal. This time, Leopold wants to wholesale more smartphones from us. They specifically asked for the same factory as the last time, which means we have to collaborate with the Sinclair Group again and negotiate a new contract. However, this time, Mr. Ethan gave me the assignment. I don’t know anyone at the Sinclair Group, so I thought you could help me out. Could you put in a good word for me?” Betty asked with hope written all over her face.

Thalassa paused mid-bite into her bagel. She now understood why Betty had brought her breakfast. The aloof Betty buying her breakfast seemed too good to be true. Now she knew it wasn’t without a

price.

In the corporate world, there was no such thing as a free lunch.

Ethan, the sly man, had cleverly pushed her into this. She took a bite of her bagel as she responded, “I do know someone from the management at the Sinclair Group, but the main connection is Mr. Ethan. He and Mr. Sinclair are good friends, as you know.”

“Mr. Ethan mentioned that Mr. Sinclair doesn’t do business out of friendship. He’s all about profits.”

“Considering he agreed to sign the contract last time, it must have been profitable. This time should work out too.” Thalassa responded.

“Last time, it was just 20,000 units. The profits were minimal. It’s nothing for someone like Mr. Sinclair, who’s used to billion-dollar deals. We need an insider, like your friend, to facilitate the conversation. Mr. Ethan has placed a lot of trust in me, so I can’t let him down. Please help me out.” Betty pleaded. Her usually aloof demeanor was now replaced with desperation.

Thalassa still held her bagel, feeling obliged to help after eating the breakfast Betty bought for her.

“Alright, I’ll give it a shot.” Thalassa finally agreed.

“That’s great! Here’s the contract. You can show it to your friend, and if he has any suggestions, we can make changes.” Betty promptly placed the contract on Thalassa’s desk and returned to her own, leaving Thalassa alone with her thoughts.

Thalassa glanced at the contract on her desk, sighing silently to herself. The last time she had to discuss a contract with Lysander, it was quite eventful. This time, she wasn’t sure what to expect.

Lysander was still upset about the video Charlotte had sent him yesterday, and, furthermore, she just lashed out at him just a few moments ago. She dreaded the thought of facing him, but she knew she had to.

But she couldn’t risk not seeing her children.

Around 10 in the morning, Thalassa, armed with the contract, made her way to the Sinclair Group.
