Chapter 740

Sharp as a tack, Charlotte rose from the bed with a satisfied smile playing on her lips as she watched the two men lying defeated on the floor.

She had emerged as the victor.

Lysander had orchestrated this brutal showdown. He let them thrash each other while he stood by, observing the chaos.

Charlotte had adopted the same strategy, letting the two men fight while she secured her victory from a safe distance.

Her eyes fell on the two men sprawled on the bed, who were writhing in pain. The sight gave her immense satisfaction. Lysander’s method had indeed worked wonders. She didn’t even have to lift a finger to put them in their place.

These men were now either crippled or severely injured. It would take them months to recover, and even then, there was no clear winner.

The promises she had made to them earlier were now meaningless.

Charlotte gingerly touched her bruised cheek, a painful reminder of the brawl she was just in. She approached Lysander as her voice shook with fear. Lysander, I won. Can you let me go now?”

Lysander’s icy gaze swept over her.

Charlotte crumpled to her knees as tears began streaming down her face. “Lysander, I won’t do it again. I won’t conspire against Thalassa anymore. Please spare me.”

Earlier today, when Lysander had invited her to the Starhaven Hotel, she naively thought that he had developed an interest in her after watching the video she had sent him. She thought he had finally chosen her over Thalassa.

She gleefully accompanied him to the hotel, only to find those two burly men in the room. They were the men she had hired to kidnap Thalassa.

Lysander put out his cigarette in the ashtray and glanced down at the sobbing Charlotte at his feet. “I’m a man of my word. Whoever wins goes free. Cross paths with me again, and you’ll end up like them.”

With that, he stood up and walked out of the room, with David following close behind;

The oppressive atmosphere lightened as they left, and Charlotte collapsed on the floor, feeling relieved.

As Lysander entered the elevator, flanked by bodyguards, one of them informed him of the recent visitor. “Lysander, Ms. Everhart stopped by to see you earlier. But she left when she heard the commotion in the room.”

Lysander’s eyes darkened when he heard this. The bodyguard quickly lowered his gaze, nervously adding, “I’ll explain everything to Ms. Everhart right away, sir.”

“What will you explain?” Lysander asked, his voice cold.

“That you were not with a woman in the room.” The bodyguard’s voice trailed off as he noticed Lysander’s icy gaze.

He stopped mid-sentence, unsure if he should continue.

Meanwhile, Thalassa had been sitting outside the hotel, trying to regain her composure. “Did you get a good look at the woman?” She asked Heather.

“Yes, I did. I even managed to snap a photo.” Hertha quickly showed Thalassa the photo on her phone.

Even from the back, Thalassa recognized the woman walking closely beside Lysander.

It was Charlotte.

Today, Lysander came to this hotel with Charlotte.

Remembering the sounds from the room, Thalassa’s heart sank further. She had to accept a harsh reality.

Charlotte was right. No matter how many women Lysander dated now, in the end, he would marry Charlotte.

Thalassa’s eyes filled with sadness as she stared at the photo.

“Stop torturing yourself over this.” Hertha advised. “You should just break up with Lysander. Let him chase other women. He has no right to stop you from finding your own happiness.”
