Chapter 934

Thalassa’s brow furrowed, puzzled by what Callum meant.

Leopold’s intention? What intention could he possibly have?

Before Thalassa could voice her confusion, Callum fixed his gaze on her and continued, “If you’re looking to break free from Lysander, I can help you. Whenever you’re in a jam, hit me up. We can team up, collaborating from within and without.”

A jolt of surprise shot through Thalassa, her eyes widening in astonishment.

How did he know she was planning to escape from Lysander?

It was a thought she had kept to herself, not breathed a word to anyone. Was she really that transparent?

Seeing her shocked expression, Callum realized he had startled her and explained, “Getting a woman who can catch Lysander’s eye, to occupy his time, now that’s a cunning plan.”

Just moments before at the entrance of the booth, Callum had run into Susan. Clad in a daring, revealing dress, she was holding the bottle of red wine that was originally meant to be delivered by Thalassa, greeting him with a polite smile.

He saw right through her – the woman was clearly aiming for Lysander.

It must have been Thalassa who sent her; otherwise, how could she have gotten her hands on Ethan’s private stash from the bar? Suddenly, it clicked for Thalassa. Callum must have thought that she had deliberately sent Susan in to lure Lysander away.

Thalassa asked, “What did you mean earlier by ‘Leopold’s intention’?”

Callum met her tense, questioning eyes, paused for a brief two seconds, then looked away, “It’s nothing, really. I just wanted you to know that if you’re in trouble, you can count on me. I’ll be there to help.”

She could see hesitation in Callum’s eyes, a sign he was hiding something from her, but she couldn’t guess what it was.

He didn’t want to talk, and she felt it wasn’t her place to pry.

“Leopold is lucky to have a friend like you,” Thalassa said, acknowledging that Callum truly had Leopold’s best interests at heart.

Callum turned to look at her and noticed a green bug had fallen onto her head.

They were sitting under a large tree, and it wasn’t unusual for a bug or two to drop down from the branches.

“Don’t move, you’ve got a green bug on your head. Let me get it off for you,” Callum said.

“A bug?” Thalassa exclaimed, her expression tensing up. She was terrified of bugs.

Though she hadn’t actually seen the bug, the mere mention of its color was enough to conjure up an image in her mind of the creature crawling around her head, making her skin crawl with revulsion.

“Please, get it off,” Thalassa implored, leaning her head towards Callum, desperate to get rid of the unwanted guest atop her

head.

As Callum leaned in, carefully removing the bug that was trailing a fine silk thread from its mouth, Thalassa tilted her head down slightly, bringing her face closer to his.

From a distance, it looked as if Callum was planting a kiss on Thalassa’s forehead, and she had willingly moved her face towards his.

Lysander emerged from the bar just in time to witness this scene.

In an instant, his demeanor turned icy, and his piercing gaze frosted over as he strode towards Thalassa.

Callum had just plucked the bug off when Thalassa was about to pull away, but she suddenly felt a chilling presence enveloping her, the air growing thin and hard to breathe.

With a start, Thalassa turned around and saw the imposing, frosty figure of Lysander approaching,
