Chapter 941

“Who do you want to marry?” Lysander’s face was as stern as a thundercloud, his gaze sharp as an eagle’s, piercing her with the chill of an ice blade.

“I… I don’t know.” Thalassa’s breath came in heavy gasps, her fingers clutching the hem of his shirt, trembling slightly.

“Ha, wishful thinking!” A cold light passed through Lysander’s shadowed eyes as he ripped the clothes from her body.

“Uh…”

Thalassa’s consciousness slowly stirred, and with the slightest movement, pain shot through her body, causing her delicate brows to furrow.

Enduring the aches that racked her frame, she rolled her head to the side, something amiss beneath her skull. Her cheek rested against a strong and powerful arm, radiating a sense of formidable strength.

Images from the previous night flashed through her mind.

Lysander was a tempest in the bathroom, pressing her against the wall, while she, unable to resist, clung to his neck, tipping her head back, her lips parted as she stared at the flickering light above.

The shower water cascaded over them, shrouding the room with a mist of warmth and intimacy.

Later, in the bed, Lysander gripped her waist, entwining her in a desperate embrace.

Thalassa felt as though she were losing half her life.

Eventually, she passed out.

The memories of last night were too painful, too vivid.

A jolt of realization shot through Thalassa, her awareness snapping into focus. She opened her eyes to see Lysander’s strikingly handsome face, his high-bridged nose, sensual thin lips, and intense brows that added to his rugged beauty.

Her breath hitched, heart pounding.

Even with his eyes closed, Thalassa could sense the danger that emanated from him- danger that could flay her skin and snatch away half her life.

Thalassa hurriedly tried to get up.

But with one move, the hand at her waist tightened, pulling her back down beside him.

A husky voice broke the silence, “Where to?”

His deep-set eyes, leisurely, opened.

The temperature around them seemed to plummet, causing Thalassa’s heart to flutter, her breath stalling.

Her heartbeat erratic, she replied, “Getting up, need to freshen up.”

The hand around her waist relaxed slightly, and Thalassa seized the moment to sit up, facing him, aware of the potential danger like a gazelle in the presence of a lion.

She couldn’t bear to meet his gaze any longer.,

As she sat up, the blanket slid from her body, leaving her skin exposed to the cool air.

Realizing her state of undress, she gasped and quickly brought her hands up to cover herself.

Turning in panic, she met Lysander’s deep and mocking eyes.

He smirked, his gaze icy, “What haven’t I seen that you need to cover up?”

With that, he rose from the bed and began to dress in front of her.

Thalassa held her breath and looked away.

Wrapping the blanket around herself, she tried to stand but almost stumbled, her legs weak.

Lysander caught her, his voice a teasing baritone, “Still able to walk? Seems like you need more…”

Thalassa’s heart skipped in fear, she quickly protested, “No more, I can barely stand as it is, didn’t you see?”

His penetrating eyes darkened, “Still not learning, are you?”

Thalassa shot him a glare and pushed him away, “I need a shower; I feel sticky all over!”

She took a few shaky steps forward, her legs giving out, reaching desperately for something to steady herself.

Suddenly, she was lifted off her feet.

Instinctively, Thalassa wrapped her arms around Lysander’s neck, but as she realized who was carrying her, her body tensed, and she blurted out in panic, “Let me down. I can do this myself!”

Lysander gave her a deep, profound look that stopped her in her tracks. Her brows knit together, but she dared not speak another word.
