The Black Necromancer

Chapter 252 [Bonus ] First A Rank Casualty

Chapter 252 [Bonus ] First A Rank Casualty

The sudden appearance of four people above the battlefield disrupted the current flow as everyone slowed down their attacks to check out the new arrivals and see which side they supported.

The auras that the four people gave off were strong, but not too exaggerated. There was only one Mid A rank amongst the new entries, and the rest were all Low A ranks.

Boom!

In the distance, over the sea, the spell that Londo had tossed at Leon appeared, plunging into the depths of the ocean, before exploding, causing a massive surge that gave rise to a massive surge of currents.

The Mid A rank man waved his arm and the surge of water currents that could have led to a tsunami was instantly calmed. His outstretched arm was slowly covered in a blue armor that looked to be made up of blue scales.

"Anyone who attacks a friend of the Armstrong Family is an enemy of the Armstrong Family. I will not let such disrespect slide." The man spoke and turned his head to look at Londo, revealing pitch black eyes. A thick, invasive bloodlust leaked out of his gaze, and even Londo was taken aback by the sight of it.

After that declaration, the four people descended into the crater that had formed when Londo had been bombarding Leon with attacks. With a wave of his hand, all the dust was cleared, and the four of them landed around the prone body of Leon.

One figure stepped forward and crouched beside Leon. "Leon? It's me, Jet!" Jet had come along with the delegation from the Armstrong Family.

Leon had sent a message to Jet about the impending attack long ago, but had gotten no reply ever since. What had actually happened was that most of the important members of the family were undergoing an important and delicate process that could not be rushed. After the patriarch, Dion, had emerged from his healing period and regained his former power, the rest of the important family members then began to use the precious resources that Jet had won during Divinity's Bout to aid their breakthroughs.

Jet was also one of the important family members. For some reason, his talent had grown greatly, and he was able to scale the barrier between Peak B rank and A rank as if it was merely a small fence!

"..." Leon's aura waved weakly, but the damage that covered his body was too great. His armor was covered in holes, both large and small, and his bones were cracked and broken. Londo had exploited the frozen bones, and the broken them when they were at their most brittle. Even Leon's considerable Durability was not able to save him.

Beside Jet, Dorian stepped up. He had a strange look on his face as he stared down at Leon.

"I don't know how you are still alive." Dorian muttered as he stared at Leon. He could sense the Holy energy within his bones, and could not wrap his mind around how it was possible for Leon to still be alive with it in his body. "Let's try this."

Dorian held up his staff and a warm glow flowed out. Seeing this, Londo jumped to action, casting a chain of explosive spells to disrupt Dorian's attempt, but before he could set the spells of, a shadow flashed beside him.

Dion stabbed a spear at Londo, and the Demon Necromancer's chains quickly formed a tight ball around him. The spear slammed into the side of the ball, sending it flying off into the distance, stopping above the ocean.

The spear Dion held glowed with a deep blue light that resonated with the blue scales that covered his armor. With a wave of his arm, the sea below shot up in a large pillar of water that consumed the chain ball. Pressure instantly exploded all around Londo as he tried to hold the ball in place.

Before he could react again, the water around him froze, before exploding. The ice froze along with the chains, which made them brittle, and when it exploded, a good chunk of the chains on the outer part of the ball exploded with it.

Dion appeared in a follow up move, his spear stabbing forward and slamming into the chain ball with immense force.

Crack!

The frosted chains cracked and gave way underneath the gargantuan force that the spear had transferred onto them. But the moment the chains were breached, Dion felt a danger creep up through his spine.

Hummm!

A beam of dark red fire blasted out of the hole that had been created by Dion's spear, consuming the air and space in its path and shooting off into the sky. A line of cracked space followed the beam, fixed by the ambient mana that lingered in the battlefield.

"Ha!" Londo cackled as he thought that his sneak attack had gotten the best of Dion. However, he laughed too soon.

A shadow flashed behind him just as he let the frozen chains fall apart to make way for another set of new chains. Before the new chains could act on their own to protect him, a spear plunged through the gap in his defense, stabbing into his abdomen, before exploding with a wave of power.

"Argh!" Londo let out a scream of pain as his body was torn into two by the explosive wave of power that had been let out by Dion's spear. He was not yet dead, however. He turned to run, but before he could, Dion's spear flashed through his vision, and a fine line appeared in his sight.

"...What?" Londo was still trying to understand the series of events that had just happened, but the more he thought, the darker his vision got.

Splat!

The lower half of the Demon Necromancer's body fell into the water at the same time that his upper half was split into two, falling down into the sea as well.

The first A rank casualty had occurred!
