Chapter 289 The Revenge Ploy Of Daryl King

Chapter 289 The Revenge Ploy Of Daryl King

'I didn't sense anything?' Leon was surprised that whatever had set off the explosion had escaped his senses. He immediately stood up from his seat.

"Everyone, calm down!" His powerful voice boomed, full of energy and authority. It instantly froze all the people in the room. "Panicking will make everything more disorganized. I want you all to maintain some order." His firm tone managed to restore some semblance of rationality back into the people, but they were still scared and worried.

"What should we do?"

"My phone is in my car, can someone call the cops?"

The people were still scared, and were thinking of how they would get out of this situation.

"It's fine. We need to get to the ground floor first. Being up here is dangerous." Leon took the lead and turned to the others that sat with him. Michael had also gotten up, and had been speaking to them. With his powers, they did not panic at all.

Five minutes later, Leon was leading the group of models and crew from the show down to the ground floor. He pushed open the door that led to the floor and noticed that the people were still around. They were gathered in corners of the room, trembling and covering their heads. In the center of the room, a single man stood, holding a wide stick over his lap.

"Ah, I was wondering when you would show up. I just expected it to be headless chickens running down the stairs." The man, a very young man who seemed no older than twenty, raised his head with a smile. What struck Leon, as he was the one who stepped out first, was that the man's looks were impeccable. He instantly knew that this continued attacks on Rowan and Andrew was something much more serious.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Even Andrew and Rowan were bright enough to see that the attackers were clearly after them.

"Well, I'm surprised you don't remember me, Andrew. After all, you were the one who ruined my fashion design career." The man sneered as he stood up.

"What?" Andrew looked to Rowan, hoping his friend could clue him in. "I don't know what you are talking about!"

"Oh, of course you wouldn't! Only the one who is hurt would remember the wrongs done against them. Bigshots like you don't have the time to waste remembering little guys like me. Well, it doesn't matter anymore. Just remember, the one who will kill you is me, Daryl King." The man, Daryl, pointed his stick at Andrew and the stick glowed brightly, alarming Leon.

All of a sudden, the body of the stick warped, turning into a sword. Daryl held the hilt of the sword with one hand, even though the hilt was a bastard type, meaning it could be held with two hands. It was probably heavy, but he was not feeling the need to put up with its weight against Andrew, who was supposed to be a normal man.

"Hup!" A blue glow briefly covered Daryl's feet and he dashed forward, his eyes so firmly fixed on Andrew that he didn't even notice Leon's unimpressed expression. Leon raised his hand and brought it down on the back of Daryl's neck. A blue barrier briefly flickered into existence for the shortest moment before Leon's hand tore through it like ripping through wet tissue paper.

"Urgh!" Daryl grunted as he was pulled back and suspended in the air by Leon. He was shocked, but realized that the person in front of him was not ordinary. 'He ripped through the barrier the boss gave me?'

"PUT ME DOWN!" Daryl swung his sword at Leon, but Leon caught it and held it with a blank look on his face. He pried it from Daryl's hand and punched the man in the face. Instantly, a few teeth got loose.

"Urgh! Let me go!" Daryl waved his hands and clawed at Leon's hand that was dropping his by the back of the neck, but he wasn't able to get rid of Leon's grip.

"Let me give you a chance to come clean." Leon said. "Why did you come after Andrew? And I want no lies." He locked his eyes on Daryl, driving dear through his heart.

"I-I..." Daryl's eyes went round with terror. He began to stutter uncontrollably.

"Leave it to me, Leon." Michael came and tapped Leon's shoulder, prompting Leon to drop the trembling man. Michael took hold of Daryl and dragged him into a storage room to the side under the shocked and stunned gazes of the people, both models and whatnot.

Only a few moments later, screams of terror rang out from the room, chilling the spines of everyone.

Thud!

The door slammed open and a shadow went flying out of it, slamming into the wall. The shadow turned out to be the dazed Daryl with drool running down the side of his mouth and snot running down his face.

"I got the information." Michael said as he stepped out of the room, dusting his clothes.

"Oh." Leon looked impressed. He knew that Michael had just looked into Daryl's memories. But he most likely made it as painful as he could without killing the man.

"Will he be alright?" Leon asked, gesturing to the fallen man.

"Mm, it will take a while, but he'll be fine." Michael shrugged and turned to the door. "Let's go." He walked out the door like he owned the place, leaving the stunned people in place.

"Um, you guys call the police or something." Leon smiled and hurried after Michael. When he stepped out of the restaurant, he found Michael surrounded by a bunch of people.

"Who the fuck are you?"

"Where's boss Daryl?"

A group of large and bulky men holding metal pipes and guns surrounded Michael on all sides. The man's gunmetal hair looked like a mixture of red and bright orange under the glare of the fire from the burning car beside the building. It was the car Andrew and Rowan used. In the distance, sirens could be heard.

Thud!

As one, the bodies of all the gangsters around Michael fell to the floor.
