Chapter 496 Battle Of Valeant - The God Of Battle (9)
Divine Blood rained from the sky as the Gods of Datar fought against the vanguard force of the Army of Destruction. The vanguard forces, especially the Gods that led them, were shocked at the combat power of this supposedly 'stagnant' middle world.
Ruth, the leader of the Vanguard force had a hard time understanding what was happening as the subordinates that were entrusted to her were being slaughtered left and right. When the fourth Minor God fell under the attacks of three of the Gods on Datar's side, she finally hand enough and was about to call for a retreat.
But her thoughts were interrupted when a giant beam of red light appeared from the sky and struck a part of the battlefield where no one was fighting.
The moment the giant beam of light appeared, the battles between the Gods came to a temporary lull as they all raised their guards and prepared for anything. However, in the next moment, Ruth's expression changed to something different.
The lights settled and a single being walked out. Ruth recognized this being as one of the higher ranking members of the army. He was Pheher, the God of Battle.
Pheher was a tall individual, standing at around three meters in height. He had dark skin and long white hair. His eyes glowed with red light as they scanned the battlefield.
"Pheher! What are you doing here?!" Ruth asked, slightly surprised.
"The Master asked me to rush over when he felt Darth and Acrominus' deaths." Pheher said, turning his attention to the one who had spoken.
"What?! But you were with the main force! How could you have come over here so quickly?!" She was taken aback.
"He personally teleported me here." Pheher said as he turned to look for a certain being.
It did not take long for his eyes to land on Leon.
"So, you are the one that has risen to the limelight lately? Be glad, you have caught my Master's attention. I am here to extend an offer to you. Join the Army of Destruction and leave this place. You will gain an exalted position among the Major Gods of our Army." Pheher said, his voice full of a righteous edge, as if he was doing Leon a favor.
"What if I refuse?" Leon asked back.
"There is no option to refuse." Pheher lowered his arm. "You seem to be strong headed. Do not worry. I will beat you into submission and you will know how stupid it is to resist the Master's will." As he spoke, his voice took on a dangerous edge and his eyes blazed with red fire.
Ruth's eyes opened wide when she saw this and immediately waved her hands to create a barrier around herself. And not too soon, as in the next moment, a powerful force exploded from Pheher's body and spread for thousands of kilometers in every direction.
"Let me show you the power of one of the strongest generals of the Army of Destruction!" As Pheher spoke, his body grew even larger than the hills that were around them. Only when he had grown over two hundred meters in height did he finally stop. His skin had turned pitch black and his eyes glowed fiery red. On each side of his face, leading from his eyes to his chin, three lines of glowing red liquid like magma ran down.
"Come, Leon Cromwell! Let me test your mettle and put you in your place!" Pheher had yet to finish striking, but his body had already moved.
Contrary to his gigantic body that would give the illusion that it was slow because of his size, his speed was still incredible. Most Demigods that were present could not even see him as he moved.
Even Leon was caught off-guard, shocked as a giant fist suddenly just appeared in front of him.
BOOM!
The space around Pheher's fist crackled with energy as the fist connected with Leon, turning him into a pancake against the surface of the fist for a moment, before he was sent shooting off into the distance.
Leon's body was but a blur as he shot across the sky, eventually crashing into the side of a mountain in the distance and blasting right through it. He only finally stopped after smashing through two more mountains.
BOOM!
A short distance away, the giant figure of Pheher landed, eyes blazing and fists burning. His arms blurred and a flurry of punches came down on the mountain Leon had crashed into, turning it into rubble in mere seconds.
It was at that moment that several beams of light shot over from the distance and crashed into Pheher, sending him tumbling back. The lights faded, revealing the figure of several Gods that had come to Leon's aid as soon as they could.
Asteria, Dardan and a Dragon God were the ones who intervened. Each of them had a grave expression on their faces as they realized the threat of the one they were facing.
Pheher was a Peak Major God who was on the verge of stepping into the realm of True Gods. He had already risen his comprehension of the Laws to the extreme. The only thing that separated him from that vaunted realm was that he had yet to complete the crucial step of transforming his essence and becoming a Law in itself. Only then would he be able to become a True God.
However, that did not mean that he was not already immensely powerful right now. As someone who had reached that crucial line that divided the realms of power, it was inevitable that he had developed more than a few techniques that were able to overpower anyone who was weaker than himself. The fact that he was a God of Battle only meant that his effective combat power was even greater than what he had shown so far.
"Hahaha! You all want to come and fight me? Very well, then! It has been a long time since I got a proper exercise!" Pheher stood up and slammed his knuckles together.
