Chapter 522: The Two Sides Meet

Chapter 522: The Two Sides Meet

As the war unfolded in the mortal realm and hundreds of thousands perished, something much different was happening in the Celestial Realm. Up there, instead of the mindless all out war that had broken out between the mortals and the invaders, a much different scene was occurring.

The Gods of both sides did not engage in mindless war at first. Instead, they converged for a meeting of sorts.

Ijas frowned as he studied the lineup of Gods from Datar. "I do not see the one that the Paragon of Undeath has set his sights on. Where is he?" He asked Pheher who he had made specifically stand beside him. As Pheher had fought against the Gods of Datar for a time, he was the best consultant to point out some things.

While Ijas had already seen a 'recording' of the fight through the eyes of Pheher, that was not enough for him to glean all the details. Perhaps if he dabbled in the Law of Fate, then he could have experienced it through Pheher, as if he was the one fighting himself.

"I do not see him either, Your Excellency. It seems he did not come with them." Pheher looked at the Gods of Datar and responded.

The Gods that had come from the meeting were only Major Gods, so it was reasonable that Leon who was a Minor God would not attend. But as Leon had displayed the strength of a Major God back then, it would have made sense for him to attend this 'meeting'.

"I see. Well, it is their choice. I will see him for myself sooner or later." Ijas huffed and stepped forward. As the Master of the Army of Destruction, it was time for him to address the Gods of the world that was about to be invaded by the Army.

"Gods of Datar! The time of your destruction is upon you! My Army has begun its march upon your mortal realm, and it is time for your Celestial Realm to be trampled!" Ijas' voice boomed so loudly that the Void trembled and shook with each word.

"But do not fear, for there is hope! My entire Army will not attack at once. Instead, you will face my Army in part, as they will be split up. A portion will be responsible for testing whether your world is worthy of its continued existence or not."

What Ijas spoke was true. The Army of Destruction never marched in full on a world, as that way, there would be no hope for that world. The world would have no way of defending itself and proving itself worthy of continued existence.

It was part of the Central Laws of the Universe that every world should be given a fair chance at survival. Because of that, the entire Army of Destruction would never be able to march upon a world. Even the strongest worlds only had a few hundred Gods present, not to mention a middle world like Datar. Their number was not even up to two hundred, and the majority of them were Minor Gods.

However, the Army of Destruction would never be too soft on any world. It would come with the force of a tsunami hitting a coastal city. Whoever survived would live on, while those who died would become forgotten cogs in the wheel of time.

Based on this premise, the forces that would invade the Celestial Realm of Datar would be about 1.5x the forces that Datar could muster. It was not exact, but it was a rough approximation. The true size of the Army may vary depending on how the Laws that guided the operation of the Army of Datar may see fit.

As for the mortal realm, they would continue to be under siege from the near endless number of mortal forces of the Army of Destruction until the Gods of Datar were able to fend off the Divine forces of the Army of Destruction. If they Gods failed, then the mortal realm would inevitably crumble, leaving no hope for the world.

Ijas turned to look at the strongest God present, his eyes burning with fire. It was none other than Shorn. The Dragon God was in his true form, a giant red crystalline Dragon whose scales glowed with a crimson light. Shorn's power burned hotter than its peak before the fight with the Vanguard forces of the Army of Destruction.

It seemed the Feat of fending off the Vanguard Forces of the Army of Destruction was a boon to all who participated in that fight back then.

"When does the invasion of our Celestial Realm begin?" Shorn noticed the look and asked.

Ijas' fiery face broke out in a wicked grin.

"Now."

As the meeting between the most powerful Major Gods between both sides went on, the rest of the Celestial Realm of Datar was in high alert. They were waiting for news from their representatives in the meeting so that they would know what to do.

However, all of a sudden, portals appeared in the clear sky at once, dying the once blue sky in a deep hue of fiery red. Powerful auras burst out of the portals before several extremely powerful beings emerged from the different portals. Behind them, thousands upon thousands of powerful celestial beings and creatures also emerged, eager to sow destruction and reap lives.

However, the Gods and celestial beings of Datar were not fools. This was a time of war, and they had been prepared for this for a long time. It helped that both Major Fate Gods had stayed back to help ensure there were no sneak attacks.

It was thanks to the efforts of Michael and Fazir that the defenders were able to receive warnings a couple of minutes before the portals appeared.

While a few minutes might seem small in front of the calamity that they were facing, it was these few minutes that allowed them to avoid being caught completely off guard.

As soon as the invaders emerged from the portals, they were immediately met with ferocious attacks that resembled the bites of rabid dogs!
