The Blue Eyes

Chapter 101 - DÉJÀ VU

Chapter 101 - DÉJÀ VU

Kevin's world seemed to have come to an end for the second time. Seventeen years ago he felt the same grief and pain when he heard the news that his parents died in an explosion in the laboratory.

And today, he felt the same emotion in his heart. The young man's body almost collapsed if only Kris wasn't fast enough to hold his shoulders.

The young soldier went on to report the chronology. He said that not too long ago, their members at the harbor heard a very loud explosion coming from the direction of the island, so they decided to go to the island to check. Arriving at the island, they found a hill had collapsed, presumably caused by the explosion.

It was raining hard at that time, but their members kept trying to inspect the place. They suspected that the hill was no ordinary hill because they found many remains of objects in the hill.

They searched the hill for the victims, but they didn't find any intact corpses. As a precaution, they also looked for a secret escape or something, but they found nothing. They suspected that the victim's corpses had been buried under the collapsed hill.

Kevin leaned on Kris's body to support his weak body. Kris initially wanted to bring him to another place to rest, but the scientist refused.

"I wonder what's really going on in there," Kevin said weakly. His head turned weakly towards Blue and said, "Blue, explain to me who's on the island and what's on that hill."

Blue held back the tears that were about to trickle down, then began to explain, "There were Professor Joseph Beischel and Mike Allaband. Inside the hill was a large and sophisticated laboratory. Professor Selena and I were allowed inside. It looks like the laboratory was Professor Joseph's secret base for seventeen years."

Kevin closed his eyes for a moment before he opened them again and instructed Blue to continue her story.

"They talked about the past at the beginning, then it continued with Professor Joseph's confession. He said that he created the strongest werewolf monster to destroy the city and also to hurt you. That's when Professor Selena quickly asked me to teleport here so that I could warn you, Brother."

Kevin's tears dripped at Blue's story. So, his father wanted to kill him? His biological father wanted to kill him?

Kevin's head felt dizzy, but he continued to ask, "Do you know what my mother's real plan is? Is she really planning to blow up the place, or is it my father's doing?"

This time, Blue didn't immediately answer Kevin's question.

"I don't know what Professor Selena's plans are, but all the way to the island, she seems restless and fearful. She continued to stare at the white gold ring encrusted with a blue sapphire that curled around her ring finger. I almost accidentally touched the ring, and the professor looked panicked and tried to keep the ring away from me."

Kevin was puzzled. "The ring around my mother's ring finger? Doesn't that mean it's a wedding ring? But, my parents' wedding ring is just a plain white gold ring, not a ring set with a blue sapphire."

Everyone in the place looked shocked to hear Kevin's statements.

Kris looked surprised as well, and he seemed to be thinking about something. "Actually..." The tall man hesitantly spoke up. "Professor Selena knows how to create a bomb. Maybe the blue sapphire is a micro-sized bomb that activates with a touch sensor."

Again, everyone was astounded after hearing Kris's hypothesis.

Kris was the person who knew the professor the best and was on the professor's side the most. Apart from that, Kris was also Selena's confidant who knew a lot about the professor's secrets.

"If Professor Selena had prepared the bomb on purpose, it means that she planned to carry out a suicide bombing there. That means, Professor Joseph and Mr. Mike probably died in the explosion as well."

Jack finally opened his mouths to voice his analysis.

Kevin's body was getting weaker in Kris's arms, and the young scientist started to cry. Kris could only hug the fragile body tighter.

"It's Professor Selena's decision, Kev. You may not know, but the Professor lived a life of guilt and regret for decades. Maybe it's her way to atone for her sins."josei

Kris tried to calm Kevin down even though he himself was actually shocked after hearing the possibility that his father was also killed in the explosion.

His father did a lot of things that were not praiseworthy, but Kris still loved the old man and was sad after he found out that his father had gone.

The current situation was like a duplication of the conditions seventeen years ago. Yes, the circumstances when Joseph, Selena, and Mike were in the building that was blown up and reportedly died because of the incident.

It felt like a déjà vu for people who also witnessed the incident seventeen years ago, such as Kevin and Kris. The difference between the two similar events was that the three people died for real this time.

"Brother." It was Blue who called, and Kevin looked up at her weakly. "Should I teleport to the island and look for their bodies now?"

Kevin lifted his head for a bit and answered the girl's question, "No, Blue. You don't need to do that. I believe the army had done their best to find their bodies. You better have some rest."

Blue wanted to argue, but this time Kris spoke up, "Your brother is right. You used so much energy today, so you better have some rest. I also will bring Kevin back to his house." He then looked at Jack. "I don't want to say this, but please escort Blue to the orphanage and please take care of her for now. I decided to give you a second chance, Jack."

Jack was a bit taken aback, but then he smiled and nodded his head. "I promise I'll be a better person and will take care of Blue."

Kris just rolled his eyes. He actually couldn't believe in that bastard completely, but he had no other choice for now.

"Hey, young soldier, your name is..." Kris spoke again, but he paused to glance at the young soldier's name tag on the uniform. "Casper Owsinski?"

"Yes, Sir. How may I help you?" The young army answered with a tone that was so typical of the military people; firm and stern.

Kris, who was still holding the silent Kevin in his arms, responded, "Can you please provide two cars for us to go back to our houses?"

The soldier named Casper nodded quickly. "Yes, we can, Sir. We can also escort you using helicopters if you want."

Kris was dumbfounded hearing the reply.

"No need to use helicopters, just two cars are fine," he answered, then turned to Jack and Blue. "You guys go back to the orphanage, and we will visit you in three days. Just have some rest and don't do naughty things! There are many children there!"

Both Jack and Blue widened their eyes after hearing Kris's order. What did he mean by don't do naughty things? What were the naughty things?

Without giving any further explanation, Kris motioned Casper to look for the cars, and the young soldier quickly left them to comply with the order.

About five minutes later, Casper was back with another soldier and told them that the cars were ready.

Kris then brought Kevin to one of the cars and bid goodbye to Jack and Blue, who also got ready to enter another car. The two military cars then sped up in two different directions.

Kris and Kevin sitting in the back seat while Casper was in the front driving the black car.

The taller man still hugged the shorter man's shoulders, while the shorter man put his head on the taller man's chest. They kept the intimate position even if there was another person in the car.

"Where are we going, Kris? My houses were destroyed, so I don't have a place to go home," the scientist asked weakly.

That's right, both of his houses were destroyed today, and there's no way they could rest in those houses.

Kris kissed Kevin's forehead for a bit before answering, "We'll go to Professor Selena's apartment. One of her subordinates called me not too long ago, telling me that we can use the Professor's apartment now. He said that it was the Professor's message before she left for the island."

Kevin's body tensed in Kris's arms. "So, she really had prepared all of this. Is that the only way to pay for her sins? By leaving me alone?"

The caramel-haired man felt his heart tighten after hearing Kevin's poignant question. He then pulled Kevin's body to face him, framing Kevin's handsome face with his big hands.

"She didn't leave you alone, Kev. Didn't she leave me with you here? From now on, I'll be your lover, your mom, your dad, your brother, your sister, your friend, your anything. You'll never be alone, Kev. I promise you."

The scientist was stunned hearing Kris's serious words. Tears started rolling down his cheeks again, and he put his forehead on his lover's broad chest.

"I'm so lucky to have you, Kris."

The tan-skinned man beamed when he heard the whisper coming out from his lover's thin lips.

His strong hands then started to envelop his lover's vulnerable body as he muttered, "And I can also be your husband if you want to."

And the car almost hit a tree after Kris finished muttering the words. Apparently, the whisper was not soft enough, and Casper could hear all of their conversations. Now the young soldier was blushing so hard.
