Chapter 160 - THE STUDENT-TEACHER MEETING
Chapter 160 - THE STUDENT-TEACHER MEETING
The student-teacher meeting was held two days after the three youngsters got their antidote injections.
Kevin didn't lie when he said that the injections would be more painful for Kris and Jack. It was very painful that made both Kris and Jack scream in pain loudly. The scream even woke up Blue, who was having some rest on the bed.
Both Kris and Jack couldn't even get up from their beds the day after.
"You feel better now, Kris?" Kevin asked his lover who was driving beside him.
The scientist painted a worried expression on his face. Kris always told him that he was okay, but he knew that his lover just tried to hide his pain.
"Don't worry, Kev. I don't feel the pain anymore, but I still feel that there's something strange in my body," Kris replied.
The raven-haired man smiled at his lover as he responded, "You are a human now, Kris. That's why you feel strange. You will get used to it in no time. I'm sure about that."
Kevin had expected the side effect of the antidote. The antidote changed the DNA structure, and it was normal if Kris and Jack felt something odd with their bodies. They were still adjusting to the new structure of their DNAs.
Kevin peeked at his lover and found the latter smiled slightly. The smile infected him before he turned his head to the back seat. "Your uncle is in good mood, Blue," he said to the young girl who was sitting in the back seat. "Do you also feel better now, Blue?" He asked.
Blue, thankfully, didn't experience severe pain like Jack and Blue. She just needed to rest for an hour before she returned to her usual self. She could even smile after she no longer felt the pain. Kevin knew that the girl was happy because she finally could return to a normal human.
"I'm fine, Brother," the girl answered. "I'm at my best condition now. I don't think I have ever felt this good before."
Kevin looked happy to hear the girl's cheerful tone. He was worried that Blue would feel the pain for a long time, but he was relieved because Blue could handle the pain so well. The girl quickly recovered from the antidote's side effects.
"We have arrived, and I'm nervous now," Kris suddenly butted in as he parked the car in the parking lot.
Kris was right. They were already at Blue's school now.
Kevin turned to his lover and saw the latter panicked expression. He couldn't help but chuckle for a bit.
"No need to worry, Kris," he tried to comfort the taller man. "The teacher won't eat you. Just be yourself, and everything will be alright."
Kris looked at Kevin with gloomy eyes. "I'm just worried if I would embarrass Blue. Blue is a smart girl, but she has an uneducated uncle. I feel so bad," he said bitterly.
"That's not important, Uncle," Blue suddenly chimed in. "I don't care what other people going to say about you. You are my uncle, and I'm proud of you."
Kris turned his head to the back seat and could see Blue's unperturbed expression. The girl looked honest when she voiced the comforting words. She was so brave and wasn't hesitate even for a bit. The girl's sincerity seemed to be able to make Kris feel better. The burly man finally could smile again.
"Alright," he said as he unbuckled his seatbelt. "Let's meet your teacher, Blue."
Kevin and Blue smiled when they saw Kris's confidence. They both nodded their heads before they unfastened their seatbelt. The three people then got out of the car.
The school was so boisterous today. So many parents and students were chatting in the yard. Blue led the way for the two men, and it seemed that she didn't care about her surroundings.
Kevin could see Blue's cold attitude, and he sighed when he realized that Blue was still a lonely girl when she was in school. Blue had opened up more at home, but she was still the same in the school. She didn't have any friends in the big school.
They were walking down the corridor when Kevin recognized a familiar man walking in their direction. The figure seemed to notice Kevin as well as he smiled at the young man.
"That's Teacher Felix!" Blue exclaimed when she noticed the man.
The four people then stopped walking in the corridor.
"Hello, Blue," the teacher greeted his student in a friendly tone. "I didn't expect you would bring my favorite junior with you today," he added as he looked at Kevin.
Kevin nodded politely at the older man. "Long time no see, Senior. How have you been?" He asked the man.
"No need to be polite like that, Kevin," the teacher replied as he waved his hand. "I'm no longer your senior, so you don't need to address me that way."
Kevin smiled at him as he said, "Then, should I call you Teacher Felix now? Blue couldn't stop talking about her favorite Teacher Felix when she was home."
The teacher chuckled as he turned to the young girl. "What were you talking about me with your brother, huh? Were you badmouthing me behind my back?" He asked in a playful tone.
The teacher was just joking, but it still surprised the innocent girl. "I only talked good things about you, Teacher. You are my favorite teacher, so I will never badmouth you," she immediately clarified.
The clarification made Kevin and the teacher laugh in amusement.
"Blue is also my favorite student, Kevin," the teacher said as he turned to Kevin again. "She is so smart and very obedient. If only all students were like her, I wouldn't lose my hair so quickly."
Kevin just smiled at the teacher's humorous words. He could notice that the teacher was indeed losing a lot amount of hair. He wasn't bald, but the hair looked thinner compared to the last time Kevin saw the older man.
"It's normal for students their age to be naughty, Teacher Felix," Kevin replied. He decided to change the way he addressed the teacher.
The middle-aged teacher just smiled at him, and that was when he finally noticed the existence of another man beside Kevin.
"Oh, is he Blue's uncle? I have heard about the adoption, but I didn't get the chance to meet Blue's guardian before," the teacher spoke again as he looked up at Kris, who was way taller than him.
Kevin glanced at Kris for a second before he answered, "Yes, Teacher. He is Blue's uncle. His name is Kris Allaband."
Kevin knew that Kris was nervous, but it was the right time to introduce him to one of Blue's teachers.
"Hello, Mr. Allaband. I'm Blue's teacher. It's nice to meet you," the teacher said as he stretched out his right hand.
Kris glanced down at the hand before he grabbed it firmly. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Teacher. Thank you for guiding Blue when she was in the school," he replied.
The teacher smiled as he squeezed Kris's hand a little before he ended the handshake. "It's me who is lucky to meet Blue. A nice student like Blue is one in a million," he replied.
Kris smiled politely at the teacher before he nodded.
Kevin secretly smiled when he saw his lover's stiff reaction. He knew so well that Kris was still shy in front of the teacher.
"Anyway," Felix Smith spoke again as he turned to Kevin. "I heard that the antidote for the werewolves has been found. Is that true, Kevin?"
Kevin was a bit stunned when he heard the question. The matter about the werewolves and the antidote was a secret matter that was only known by limited people. That was why he was quite startled by the sudden question.
But, if Kevin thought about it again, it was not strange if his senior knew about the matter. He was an ex-scientist, after all. Some of his ex-colleagues must have told him about the matter.
"Ah, it seems that I asked a wrong question. That issue must be secret, right? I apologize for being insensitive," the teacher spoke again as he rubbed the nape of his neck awkwardly.
Kevin felt bad when he saw the teacher's guilty expression. "It's alright, Teacher. You were a scientist too, so it's normal if you are curious about the progress of the antidote. I still remember when we worked hard together to find the antidote," he replied.
Kevin was quite smart with the reply. He successfully avoided answering the question without offending the teacher.
"You are right, Kevin. We worked days and nights to find the antidote, but to no avail," the teacher responded as he reminisced. "But now that the world is peaceful once again, I hope everything will stay the same. I hope there will be no war again in the future."
Kevin smiled and nodded at the teacher's wish. "I hope so, Teacher.. I hope the last war will be the last for real," he replied in a genuine tone.
