Chapter 192 - FAMILY DINNER
Chapter 192 - FAMILY DINNER
Family dinner. Kevin never thought that the simple phrase would feel like a nightmare to him. He had imagined having a family dinner with his adoptive parents and Kris, but now that he knew that his adoptive parents were against his relationship with Kris, he was starting to feel anxious.
He had no problem if his foster parents would say bad things toward him, but he wasn't ready if his parents were going to slander Kris as well.
Kevin didn't like the idea of a family dinner at all. He had given Kris the option of rejecting the idea, but his lover was surprisingly determined as he wanted to meet his adoptive parents soon.
["Why should I reject the idea? Your parents want to meet me, and I want to meet them as well. It's a good time for me to introduce myself to them, right?"]
That was how Kris responded to the news last night. He didn't even expect that his lover would agree right away, but a small part of his heart was pleased to see his lover's confidence.
Kris just wanted to prove that he was worthy for him, and he would let the taller man do what he wanted.
"I'm the one who should feel nervous, Kev," Kris, who was driving beside him, broke the silence that was engulfed them since the red car left their apartment. "I'm the one who will meet my in-law, and I'm the one who should feel nervous, right?"
They were on their way to Kevin's parents' house. It was near dinner time, and both of them had been preparing for this occasion since morning.
Kevin looked casual with his grey sweater, while Kris looked so neat with his black shirt. They had discussed their outfit since the morning. Kris voiced his idea to wear formal suits, but Kevin was against his idea.
["We are just going to eat dinner at my parents' house, Kris. Not having a meeting in the presidential office."]
That was why they agreed to wear a less formal outfit.
"If they still insist on rejecting our relationship, what will you do, Kris?"
Kris frowned upon hearing the question. "Don't jinx it, Kev," he replied. "You always believed that your foster parents loved you, right? If they saw you happy with me, then they would let you be with me."
Kevin didn't reply as he brought his gaze to stare outside the windows. He was so nervous earlier, and he didn't pay attention to his surroundings. It was raining again tonight, and that was why he was feeling a chilly atmosphere since earlier.
"You are happy with me, right, Kev?"
Kris's next question made him flinch, and he hurriedly turned his head to his lover. "Why did you ask me that kind of question, Kris? Do you think I'm not happy with you?"
Kevin didn't understand why Kris suddenly asked him that kind of question. He was beyond happy having a relationship with Kris. If there was a word that could describe his feelings other than the simple 'happy,' then he would use that word.
"I can see that you are happy, but sometimes my insecure self wants to hear you say that you are happy."
It was Kris and his insecurity again. Kris couldn't stop thinking that he was no better than Kevin and that he was one level below his lover. That was why he always felt jealous if Kevin was with Luke White. In Kris's eyes, Luke was on the same level as Kevin, and probably Luke would look good standing beside Kevin. Even better than himself.
Kevin knew his lover very well, and he couldn't help but smile at his insecure lover.
"I always feel like I'm using drugs when I'm with you, Kris. I think I'm high, and I'm beyond happy. You are even more dangerous than heroin for me. I'm always happy when I'm with you, and I will feel lost without you."
Kevin didn't even know how could he arrange such cheesy words for his lover. He only knew that he wanted to comfort his lover with his sincere words.
And it seemed that he was successful because the next thing he saw on Kris's face was his smile. That was Kevin's favorite smile.
"Thank you, Kev," the tan-skinned man whispered as he glanced at his lover. "You even chose me over your perfect colleague, and I'm beyond happy for that."
See? Kris was still insecure about Luke, right?
"Luke is not perfect," Kevin replied while shifting his gaze away from his lover. "He was quite weird. He had been acting cold all the time, but he suddenly confessed his feeling to me. Instead of being perfect, he is quite creepy and perverts."
Kris's laughter finally killed the tense atmosphere. It was his first laughter tonight. Kevin was so nervous that he mostly shut his mouth during the journey, so Kris didn't have a reason to laugh. But, Kevin's words just now seemed so funny for the caramel-haired man.
"Should I tell him that you see him as a creepy pervert?"
The pair of blue eyes widened, and the owner hastily turned his head toward the driver. "Don't do that, Kris!" He exclaimed in panic. "Luke has been so helpful for us, so I will feel bad for hurting his feeling even more. I've rejected him, so that's enough, right?"
The taller man giggled again when he heard his lover's panicked tone. "I was just kidding," he replied. "I just want to distract you from your bad thought about your foster parents, and here we are now. We've arrived at your foster parents' house."
Kevin, who didn't even realize that Kris's red car had stopped moving, turned his head to the front. His body froze when he realized that he and Kris were currently in front of his foster parents' house.
The house was more than familiar for him because he had lived in that house for more than 10 years. And the house was familiar for Kris as well because he had lived in that house for a few months with Kevin before.
Both of them were familiar with the house, but it looked like they were about to enter a ghost house tonight. Especially Kevin with his horror expression. Kris looked more relaxed, but when he turned his head to his lover, he sighed heavily.
"Nothing bad will happen, Kev," he spoke softly. "Your parents must have been waiting for us. Let's go to meet them."
Kris was about to turn off the car engine, but then he felt his arm was being grabbed by someone, and not only that, but the certain someone also pulled his body strongly, and the next thing he could feel was a soft and wet thing pressed on his lips.
Kevin was kissing him.
The scientist rarely initiated intimate contact with him, so he was quite surprised by the action. He didn't want to let the scarce opportunity go, though. Raising his right hand, he then landed it on Kevin's head, pressing the latter's head to deepen their kiss.
Kevin's hands were not idling either. He brought his hands to circle Kris's strong neck while occasionally playing with the caramel locks sensually.
The atmosphere turned hot all of a sudden, and Kris bit Kevin's lower lip a little, asking for permission to enter the warm cave. Kevin welcomed his guest, and their tongue wrestled inside his warm cave.
Kris didn't want to leave his left hand idle, and he rubbed it to get inside Kevin's sweater and touch his lover's belly sensually. Kevin shuddered at his action, and he groaned quite loudly. And the moaning got louder as Kris moved his hand up and up again until it reached Kevin's right nipple. His thumb and forefinger pinched the bud, and Kevin couldn't control it anymore.
Both of them were almost lost their minds as they wanted to continue to the next level in the car, but then Kevin went back to his sense and realized that it wasn't the time to do naughty things with Kris in the car. They had an important agenda tonight, and they would better put aside their lust and go back to their sanity.
That was why Kevin pulled away from Kris, causing the latter to groan annoyedly. The groan made Kevin chuckle.
"Let's go meet my parents first, Kris."
"But I'm super hard now, Kev. I can't possibly meet your parents in this condition, right?"
Kevin brought his gaze down to Kris's crotch, and yeah, he could see a huge bulge in the area. The scientist chuckled again and was about to tease his lover, but then he suddenly felt like he was being watched by someone.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could sense someone was watching them, and he turned towards the front of the car hastily.
There on the veranda, he could see his adoptive parents were staring at them with wide eyes.
