Chapter 265 - REVENGE PLAN

Chapter 265 - REVENGE PLAN

The next morning in the Beischel residence. Kevin was sitting in silence in the living room of the house. He couldn't sleep well last night because his mind was full of Grace's words that seemed to be haunting him, and he was in a dilemma after the fierce lady finished her story.

The story told by the short-haired lady was more than a surprise for him, and he couldn't remove the memory when the lady told him the story from his head.

["He's someone I know? Who is that someone?" Kevin asked straight to the point because he couldn't hold back his curiosity anymore.

"Let me tell you another thing before I tell you his identity."

It was not a direct answer from Grace, and Kevin frowned in dissatisfaction. "You can't tell me directly?" He asked coldly.

Grace, to his dismay, chose to shift her gaze away from him as she said, "Your mother asked me to leave her not because she wanted to dump me, and she didn't only want to protect me either. Instead, she wanted me to take revenge on that man."

The statement was startling, and Kevin fell silent. His mother wanted Grace to take revenge on her father? Selena Beischel deliberately asked Grace to leave her because of that?

"Your mother was not powerful enough, so she asked someone powerful in this country to adopt me. That person is someone who didn't like my biological father for his cunning character, so he agreed to help me to seek revenge. That's why I grew up as the General's daughter and fight to get my revenge."

Kevin was still silent even after Grace gave him another explanation.

"My biological father doesn't know my existence, and he also doesn't know my plan for him. Not only that, but he also doesn't know that your mother wanted revenge on him too. Even after your mother died, he's still clueless about my identity and my real intention."

Grace had not revealed the man's identity yet, but Kevin was not stupid. He had a name in his head, but he still needed to confirm his suspicion.

"That man doesn't know that my mother wanted to revenge on him too? Do you mean, my mother was acting clueless all the time around him? She was still treating him well?"

"Yes," Grace answered his question calmly. "Instead of showing her dislike toward the man, your mother was acting nicely toward him and was taking advantage of him. Unfortunately, until your mother died, she didn't get the chance to revenge on him. That's why I was disappointed in her because she left me like that even though we had not achieved our goal yet."

Kevin furrowed his brows upon hearing Grace's further story.

"However, your mother left me a hologram as her last message to me. She told me to continue fighting for justice for my deceased mother. That's why I decided to forgive your mother and continued what we had started."

Hearing the word 'hologram,' Kevin remembered about the hologram his mother left for him, Kris, and Blue. It turned out that he wasn't the only one who received the 'keepsake.'

"If you don't believe me, I can show the hologram to you," Grace spoke again. "In the hologram, she also told me to protect you. She told me that you are my younger brother, and that's why I have to protect you from any harm."

"And you think you are protecting me all this time? By pressuring me and slandering me?"

"..."

Grace couldn't immediately reply to Kevin's questions. She was indeed acting so mean toward the younger man all this time.

"I kept pressuring you to let go of your powers because your mother wanted you to live as a normal human, Kevin."

"But it turns out that there are still dangers in this world, and I shouldn't have let go of my powers in the first place!"

"..."

The short-haired lady fell quiet again upon hearing the man's response.

"Believe it or not, but both I and your mother didn't know that there would be a conspiracy behind the werewolf's wars. I only learned about it from Julia."

The pair of blue eyes widened in surprise upon hearing Grace's next confession. "Julia?" The owner of the eyes asked in disbelief. "How come you learned about it from Julia? Are you working with Julia all the time? Is Julia your spy or something?"

Kevin had always had a feeling that Julia was a bit weird with her act that always defended Grace Hasler in any situation, but he had never expected that Julia was indeed Grace's 'eyes.'

It was no wonder that Grace knew a lot about him, and it was no wonder that the fierce lady suddenly appeared after Kris's party was attacked.

"No, Julia didn't tell me anything about Kris's party. It's indeed not a coincidence that I suddenly appeared in the orphanage, but it's not Julia's doing. I've been monitoring the party from afar, and I immediately approached you and the others because I wanted to make sure that nobody was hurt."

Kevin displayed a skeptical look on his face when he replied, "You've been monitoring the party from afar like a real hero, but you didn't do anything to stop the attack."

"I didn't do anything because I knew that those people only wanted to scare you all without any intention to hurt you! Don't you know that they pointed the gun to the sky instead of toward you and the others? They only wanted to scare you because they knew that you were investigating them."

Kevin wasn't stupid, and he knew that the criminals indeed aimed the bullets to the sky instead of toward him and the others. If those criminals brutally shot the bullets toward them, then there would be victims for sure.

The scientist didn't argue anymore and just sighed tiredly. "Now I know that I'm not your target and that you are targetting that man instead, so can you tell me that man's identity now?"]
