The Blue Eyes

Chapter 57 - FIRST KISS

Chapter 57 - FIRST KISS

Kevin. The young man was still silent while staring at Kris, who was still kneeling on the floor right in front of him. The handsome werewolf stared blankly at him with his brown eyes.

Kevin was still waiting, waiting for whatever answer Kris would give to the question he had just asked; is he the same as Blue?

Although Kevin did not elaborate on his question in more detail, he was sure that Kris was not stupid. The werewolf definitely could interpret his short question.

"I don't know," replied the werewolf as he looked away from the scientist.

"Look me in the eye, and say that one more time, Kris," Kevin immediately responded to Kris's answer with a cold tone.

Kris swallowed hard, then hesitantly looked back at Kevin. "I know, but I don't know either," in a low voice that was almost a whisper, he answered.

Instead of making Kevin understand, the answer made Kevin frown. "What does it mean?" He asked confusedly.

Kris sighed, then he got up from his kneeling position and sat down beside the owner of the house. Without looking at Kevin, the young werewolf said, "I'm sure you must have noticed that something was wrong with your body, maybe since you had an accident some time ago. I lied to you at that time, right?"

Kevin dug back into his memory about his accident that happened more than a week ago, and he just remembered that Kris had not explained why he lied at that time.

"I lied to you at that time because something strange happened to your body since you had the accident. I didn't want the hospital to examine you further and find the cause of your body's oddity, so I forced them to let you discharge that very day," Kris explained.

Kevin was stunned to hear Kris's explanation. "Something strange happened to my body? What is that thing? And, why didn't you let the hospital check my body?" The young scientist asked again.

"At that time, your head was badly injured and you lost a lot of blood. Therefore, you needed a blood transfusion. The doctor had found blood that matched you and prepared for a transfusion, but your body refused. And, oddly enough, even without a blood transfusion, your wound could heal quickly. I felt something was wrong with your body, so I was determined to do all of that. If the public finds out about your magical ability, they will definitely be excited and make you a research specimen. I don't want that to happen to you."

Kevin froze at Kris's long explanation. His memory drifted to the day he had a car accident. At that time, on the same day that he had the accident, he immediately got out of bed without experiencing any significant pain. He was actually suspicious about that, but then Kris explained to him that he wasn't badly injured during the accident, so his condition was stable and fine.

He trusted Kris, but the next day, a junior in the laboratory told him that he had just had a terrible accident and was seriously injured. That was what caused him to go straight to the hospital where he was treated, where he received information that Kris had forced the hospital to let him discharge even though he was still in treatment.

'What happened to my body?' Kevin kept wondering to himself. He raised his hands and looked at his palms which now looked pale. Lately, he did feel a change in his body, but he thought it was just due to fatigue.

"Kevin," the werewolf called, and the owner of the name turned to him. "You don't have to think about all this too deeply. I will ask someone about what happened to your body."

"Asking someone? You mean, ask the head of the orphanage? It looks like Mother Monica knows a lot about all this, and you never told me about that," Kevin replied sneeringly.

Kris could only lower his head at Kevin's cynical tone. "Didn't I tell you that I still have a lot of secrets? That's just one of them," said the young man.

Kris's words made Kevin smile dryly. "Mother Monica, I really trust her, but apparently she is hiding a secret from me. What exactly are you guys planning behind my back?" Kevin asked in a melancholy tone.

Kris could only drop his head even deeper at Kevin's question which sounded bitter.

"Kris," the scientist called the werewolf weakly. "Are there any secrets you want to reveal to me tonight?" He then asked in a low voice.

Kris finally raised his head again and looked into Kevin's wistful eyes intently. The obsidians were filled with tired streaks. Kevin seemed to be not getting enough rest lately. Since they returned from the remote island six days ago, he had spent more time in the laboratory.

Kris smiled sadly at the human's tired face. Slowly, he lifted his right hand until it landed on Kevin's cold left cheek. "I still have many secrets, but there is one secret I want to reveal tonight," he said in a soft voice as his eyes never left Kevin's. "And, that one secret is, I love you, Kevin Beischel."

After revealing that one 'secret,' Kris immediately brought his face closer to Kevin's, and their lips met in a sweet connection.

Kevin's eyes bulged as he felt a pair of soft, wet, and warm objects touch his thin lips. His first kiss! That was his first kiss!

His chest was drumming aloud, his body was limp at the instant of the unexpected intimate contact, and his hands drooped helplessly.

His eyes searched for Kris's, but it turned out that Kris's brown beads were sheltering under his eyelids. Kevin was confused about what to do, and finally, he also shut his eyes. He tried so hard to endure the turbulence in his chest that felt like it wanted to make his ribs explode.

But, Kevin wasn't the only one who felt a great pounding in his chest. It turned out that Kris was feeling the same way. The organ of his body, which was called the heart, was also very excitedly pumping its blood throughout the body. It was beating so loudly like a drum, making him worry that Kevin could hear the loud sound.

Unconsciously, a drop of tears dripped from his left eye. They were tears of joy because he had waited so long for this moment.

The two lips stuck together in a chaste connection for a few minutes until finally, Kris took the initiative to separate their joint when he felt Kevin started to have trouble breathing. It was just a chaste kiss without any lust, but it was enough to make the two of them gasp after their lips parted.

Kris's hand was still perched on Kevin's cold cheek, and he slowly ran his thumb to rub the smooth object very gently, as if he was afraid his short nails would scratch it and leave a mark. "So, how are you going to respond to my secret?" The werewolf asked tenderly. His eyes never drifted away from Kevin's almond eyes.

Kevin's eyes were still blank as he couldn't believe what had just happened.

It was only after he regained his senses that he snorted slightly and raised his right hand to wipe the trail of tears on Kris's left cheek. "You cried just for revealing one secret?" He asked sarcastically.

Kris laughed at the sarcastic question that slid smoothly from the handsome scientist's mouth. His right hand, which had been perched on Kevin's left cheek, now migrated to grab Kevin's right hand, which was pressed against his left cheek.

His lips moved very gently to kiss Kevin's cold palm. "Your hands are so cold. You must be nervous after hearing my confession, right?" He asked after his lips no longer kissing Kevin's palm.

Kevin quickly pulled his hand and bashfully asked back, "Did you mean what you said earlier? Does your heart beat so fast when you are near me? The search engine said?"

Kevin's question was cut short because Kris suddenly pulled his right hand again and placed it on his left chest. "You can find the answer to your questions here," said the handsome werewolf.

Kris's moves got Kevin even more nervous. It was getting worse when his hand felt Kris's heart thumping very fast behind his broad chest. It turned out that the werewolf had not lied to him.

"Your heart is also beating fast," Kevin said after pulling his hand, which just felt Kris's heartbeat directly.

Kris smiled at the innocent response. "It always beats fast like that whenever I'm with you. Even before your heart felt the same beat, it was already beating like that. Even when I was only thinking about you, even when you're not beside me."

A pretty pinkish blush started to appear on Kevin's soft cheeks after he heard Kris's confession. Since when did a fierce werewolf like Kris become so romantic, huh? Now Kevin was shy like a girl in love.

"Now that we both know about each other's feelings," The scientist spoke up again. "So, the two of us... now what?" He continued in a nervous tone.

Kris raised an eyebrow for a second, but he then smiled sweetly and answered happily, "What else? Of course, we are dating now!"
