Chapter 236 - INTENTIONS!
Chapter 236 - INTENTIONS!
Bethany came back from the lobby into the kitchen and Tinsley had been holding her breathe thinking what was going out there.
"Hey!!!"
"Hey!!!"
She greeted the moment, Beth entered inside and Beth passed her a little smile.
She resumed with her work and it made Tin restless, wondering what had happened outside.
None spoke a word and Tin could not pull Beth to have a little chat in the corner either for the schedule today was packed.
Beth did not look up in Tin's direction and continued with her task. She felt her gaze all through the time, yet she pretended as if to not notice and carry on with her work.
She knew who he was...by now she also knew who Tinsley was. After the texts that Kyle had sent her last night with the photos, she had gone through google and did her fair share of research.
What had led her to leave him? ...she had no inkling about any of it. But she could tell that something hard, something unsolvable had led her to take such a step.
Once an heiress, now a wife of a billionaire, leaving her luxurious life behind, working at a bakery in the day, at a diner in the night, doing double shifts for money, living in a small studio apartment, selling paintings in the city centre and coming to a point of carrying a child that was not her husband's...a lot must have had happened.
Beth had known her for more than six months now, and not once did she feel like Tinsley had in herself to be a bad woman.
Instead, she found her to be a naive one in lots of things...perhaps her upbringing as an heiress answered why she was so clueless about simple things in life.
They had become friends...good ones at that and sharing a unique bond of going through the most important phase of every women's life...being a mother together...she cared about Tinsley.
And she had not seen her as happier as she had been since the starting of her job here in the bakery.
She was always sad, lost, morose and by that everyone here could tell she had been out of one bad hellhole...just like her.
And since the journey of the pregnancy began, it was like a new hope of light for her that she was so brighter and bubblier than before.
She was not going to let the return of a man...no matter if he was even her husband or a goddamn billionaire, she was going to let him drag her back to the place, she for sure had escaped to find herself back again.
So she dropped the icing, stopped doing what she had been doing since the moment she had stepped back inside the kitchen and looked over at Tin.
Tin was working back again. Designing the car-shaped cake as instructed by the customer.
Fifteen minutes...that long, she had been stealing mini glances of Beth, thinking when she would look back in her direction and she would signal her to come to her side so that she could ask what had happened...what did he do?? Did he leave or not??
But now, she had given up and was giving her full attention in completing her task before lunch so that she could herself leave and confront that man, obviously waiting for her to show up.
Beth left and strode towards his table. Kian looked up at her. He had not drunk the coffee, she had served him...not even a sip.
"I do not like normal coffee."
Kian remarked, when he noticed, her eyes glanced at the mug. He always preferred black coffee.
"Of course! You like it extravagant and we do not serve anything close to that or your billion-dollar standard!"
Beth gave him a sly reply, mocking him at the same time. She could see how his facial features changed. She could feel his calmness leaving him.
Yet, she stood there, both her hands resting on her waist, challenging him to insult her back with anything...anything at all.
Kian had had it enough. Back at the apartment with that old stubborn, suspicious lady and now here, from a mere baker cum waitress...
It was as if his wife had appointed these mini irritating, annoying, loyal securities for her before he could get to her...
It was impressive how all of them were caring and protective of her. He felt at ease, knowing she had these people, not just one but two ladies to look after her in his absence for so long.
In the apartment, she had Jessica. Here at the bakery, she had Bethany and at the diner, ...even the thought of that guy made him so angry but he had found out, he always dropped her home in the night and also helped her with that burglary incident.
But all of them were wasting their protective instinct on the wrong person...he meant no harm to Tinsley.
He was her husband after all.
"I m not here for any of your services!"
"Then why are you here, sir?? Care to explain?"
Beth insisted. She was not letting him go clean just like that, taking peace away from Tinsley.
"I m waiting for my wife!"
His reply was straight and forward. He did not like to beat around the bushes and Beth could tell that he was getting annoyed by her presence already and she was here to test him for how long he could go on without putting off?
Before she could give another sassy reply, Lola, the lady at the counter called her up to get back to her work.
"I will take my lunch break now, Lola!"
Beth said, and Lola nodded. She signalled Kian to get so that they could go outside and talk. Kian remained seated on his chair, not having any idea.
"What?? Common get up!! Let's talk outside."
She proposed and after a second of thought, Kian gave in. Standing up from his place, he followed her as they stepped out of the bakery together.
He noticed that the rose, he had handed her to give to Tinsley, was still with her, inside her coat pocket.
They had walked up to the backside of the bakery. It was calm from the front side, away from the noises of the city cars.
Beth took out her warm drink and drank it, feeling the cold stiff weather outside.
Kian gave her a weird look as he noticed her drinking from a small nub bottle where people usually store alcohol.
For a moment, he thought that she was drinking even when she looked as heavily pregnant as his wife until she told him otherwise.
"It's a warm drink. Not alcohol!"
Beth corrected him when she noticed his judgemental look. She slipped the bottle back inside her coat pocket.
"So you are ok with having a relationship with another man's child, growing inside your wife's womb?"
It was the first question that she had dropped it in his way and he was sort of expecting a similar such kind of intervention from her side.
"Yes...I m...I have come to accept it...if it's not a part of me but it is going to be a part of my wife...and if I can accept my wife, why is it so weird accepting a part of her?"
Kian very shrewdly answered. He had followed the words that Madison had spoken out to him upon their visit.
And as much as those words felt alien to him since then at that time, yet by then, to this day, at this moment, those words started making sense to him.
Beth raised her eyebrows, not expecting such a nice explanation to her question. There were no loopholes that she could find in it and challenge it against him.
"So you don't mind?"
She asked him again, looking in his direction and Kian poked his eyes back at her.
"No, I don't!"
He shook his head in negative. There was a bit of silence after that until he voiced up first this time.
"You did not give her the rose?"
He implored and that made Beth, drop her gazes down to the rose, resting in her coat's pocket.
"I did not!"
Beth replied and that made Kian question her back.
"Why?"
Beth took her sweet time in replying to that. She needed to know why he was here although it was very clear why??
He had come to take her back...take Tinsley, his wife back with him to their home in Richmond.
She had surfed the internet finding out where they lived, what they did, how they got together and in what kind of circumstances.
To tell, she had known a brief about their life together and with everything that had happened, that she had read from the gossips from the tabloid, one thing was clear...they had a thing for each other!
"I need to know what your intentions are before I give this rose to her!"
