Chapter 99 - WHAT THEIR MARRIAGE MEANT TO HIM?
Chapter 99 - WHAT THEIR MARRIAGE MEANT TO HIM?
"Oh, you didn't know?? I have my dinners only this way..."
Kian joked and all of a sudden, Tinsley could see in her head a woman...particularly that Thea Stilton on his lap, giggling as he kissed her on the dinner.
Her mood turned sour and Kian noticed the change of colour in her face. He was aware something was wrong.
"How many??"
"How many what??"
Kian did not understand his wife's stern question to him. He did not get it what did he say for her to get all serious and broody??
"How many women have you dine with like this before me??"
Tinsley asked, not holding back anymore. She did not feel any more ashamed of asking anything like that or nervous.
He was hers as much she was his. And the thought of him being lovey-dovey with other women that were not her made her skin burn in hell.
"Is my wife jealous now??"
Kian kidded, trying to soften the situation. But Tinsley held onto her ground.
"I have never bothered to do anything with them after we were done on bed."
He answered. And it was true. He always made them aware of the fact that he had no time to romanticise.
He was so caught up in his work all the time. Hell!! He did not even have time to socialise with the society and let the head of his PR department attend all the parties on behalf of him or send Madison away.
"And what about Thea Stilton??"
Tinsley could not help but let that name out in pure revulsion. Her name had been ringing in her head the moment Nathaniel mentioned it to her in his car how everyone thought Kian and her to be the end game.
"Thea Stilton??"
Kian had not heard the name in ages. Sure Valeria tried to set him up with Thea a lot of times but he never felt the connection with her even when at one point he did think to try...it just never happened.
The question was where did Tinsley come to know this name??
"How do you know..."
"Nathan told me..."
She cut him off and Kian loathed that man's name right away for coming out of his wife's beautiful mouth.
"That bastard!!"
Kian muttered under his breath, already playing with him...trying to steal his wife by dropping names of females he bedded.
"He told me how...how everyone thought you and her to be endgame."
Tinsley completed, boring her eyes deep into his, trying to study them.
"It is true, Valeria set us up multiple times because she thought she was the one for me..."
Kian started. He wished to let Tinsley know the truth that he had nothing for Thea even though they hooked up multiple times.
"But we never had that connection you know??? Or at least I did not feel it...we were not ever meant to end up together..."
He explained to her and she listened to him very attentively. He appreciated that.
"And do you feel the connection with me??"
Tinsley implored, not being held back the thought that kept poking her, piercing her heart that their marriage was only because he wanted to protect her from Josh.
What if he never felt anything for her?? And that it was just an arrangement to keep her safe and protected??
"Or is it just to keep me safe?? Our marriage??"
Kian could not think of an answer just yet. It was not the kind of conversation he thought, they were going to have over dinner like this??
Naked, sitting on his lap, her rosy nipples dripping with sauce...not the ideal circumstance to have such hard-on chitchat.
He had no idea where to start, how to start. He surely could not say that he did not grow attached to her...he did more than he could ever think of it.
He always viewed her as a beautiful woman. Their first encounter at that party did catch his eyes but he never sought it to be anything more than that.
When she was under his care, he felt a dire need to protect her and keep her safe.
It was the only thing he felt for her. But when she started to talk about how they used to be lovers in their childhood caught his attention.
The way she would talk about their memories to him...her eyes all dreamy and lips loving the story she was narrating.
It gave him an inkling that she must have loved him as he had never experienced anyone love him in a while.
And how sad that he did not remember any of it. That wonderful love, she so dreamily talked about.
It was only at that moment he saw her in a different light. When she told him about their first kiss...he felt a rush to kiss her again and feel what it felt like.
Once he joined their lips together...he kept coming for more and the simple lip locks turned to heated make-out sessions.
Their relationship was a question to him. He could never think of what it was. That what made him drive back to her at weekends?? The man who never once left work behind at weekends too.
And the marriage...it sure was to protect her from Josh, to free her from his monstrous clutches. He never intended it for anything else.
But with time...of course, it had grown to be more than just that. Yet he did not know how to tell her all that...not giving her wrong signals in the middle.
Tinsley's hope was fading for a positive reply from her husband as the time ticked away, waiting for him to speak up.
"Is it not obvious to you that it of course is more than that??"
He asked her. Tinsley turned her attention back to him. Kian rubbed her back soothingly when he opened his mouth to explain to his wife...what their marriage meant to him.
