“Yeah.” At least, she still hoped that he could be truly happy even though she had broken up with him.

He stared at her outstretched hand with a complicated look. After a long time, he finally reached out to shake her hand.

His fingers wrapped around her hand tightly, and his face turned pale.

Even Lillian noticed something was wrong with Callum. “What’s the matter? You look…”

He suddenly let go of her hand, stumbled back a step, and gasped. “I’m fine.”

Lillian looked at him suspiciously. Apart from his pale face, there seemed to be nothing wrong with him, so she said nothing more. Then she turned around and walked out of the room.

Callum stayed alone in the room, and then he put his hand that had just shaken her hand in front of him. He looked down gently and fixed his eyes on the still-trembling hand.

He thought, “Has even touching her become a luxury? Am I going to live like this for the rest of my life?”

When she walked out of the room just now, he even wanted to stop her and asked her to give him more time.
