The third voice speculated that the woman must have had some good fortune that had allowed her to turn her financial situation around and afforded such a high-end vehicle.
Hannah noticed that Elaine was not responding and decided to try to smooth things over by saying, “Oh Elaine, you’ve really changed since you went to the United States.
We’ve been sisters-in-law for so many years, and yet you’re not even acknowledging me when I’m talking to you.”
Elaine gave her a cold snort and replied, “The one who’s changed is you, not me! I remember when I left, you were always calling me ‘sister’ and asking me to buy you a gold chain.
