As he spoke, Jacob said to Charlie, “Charlie, why don’t you go upstairs and ask Claire to come down for dinner?”
Charlie nodded slightly before he said, “Alright then, I’ll go upstairs to get her now.”
After that, Charlie stood up and went upstairs immediately. When he came to their bedroom, he saw that Claire was lying on the bed with her back facing the door.
He said, “My dear wife, it is time for dinner.”
As he spoke, Charlie was about to walk into the bedroom but he heard his wife saying, “Oh, don’t come over here yet.”
Immediately afterwards, Claire stood up with her back facing Charlie. After that, she reached out her hands as though she was wiping the tears off her eyes.
Charlie hurriedly walked towards Claire at this time. When he saw her red and swollen eyes, he asked, “Wife, why are you crying again?”
Claire shook her head as she stubbornly denied, “I was not crying. My eyes are just a little uncomfortable.”
Charlie felt very distressed and he said, “Why are you still trying to lie to me? Your eyes are already so red and swollen so how could you possibly not be crying?”
After he spoke, Charlie asked softly, “Is it because of Mom?”

Claire sobbed as she asked, “How can you assure or promise me anything? You don’t even know where my mom is now. You don’t know what she is going through or if she’s in any danger at all…”
Charlie replied seriously, “Don’t worry, Claire. Since I’ve already promised you, then I won’t let anything happen to her. I’ll ask some of my very capable and powerful friends to help me to figure out a solution to this matter, okay?”
Claire hurriedly asked, “Are you serious? Will your friends really be willing to help you?”
