Charlie replied blankly, “I did not have the time to go out to buy groceries today. We only have some vermicelli left at home. Why don’t I prepare a bowl of noodles for you now?”
Elaine blurted out, “I have already been hungry for two days and two nights! What good will a bowl of noodles be?”
Charlie replied lightly, “Alright then, I will go and shop for some groceries now.”
When she heard Charlie’s words, Elaine immediately replied anxiously, “I will have already fainted out of hunger by the time you come home!”
Charlie asked, “Why don’t I order a takeaway for you then?”
Elaine blurted out, “It will take about half an hour or forty minutes for the food to be delivered. Why don’t you just cook me a bowl of noodles then? I want you to add two eggs to the noodles!”
Charlie replied casually, “We do not have any more eggs at home. I have not had the time to buy the groceries yet.”
Elaine replied, “Can I have the flavored noodles then? Add some vegetables to my noodles. I have not eaten anything in the past two days. My body is so heaty that I feel that my mouth is already rotting.”
Charlie shrugged as he said, “There is nothing else aside from some vermicelli at home. If you want to eat, I can make you a bowl of clear noodles soup.”
Elaine stomped her feet angrily. She pointed at Charlie before she asked Claire, “Claire, why is this piece of trash deliberately going against me? Why isn’t there any food at home at all?”
Claire had a very awkward look on her face.
At this time, Charlie said, “We have been busy looking for you for the past two days. Therefore, we did not cook at home. That is the reason why I did not do any grocery shopping.”
Elaine felt very miserable but she did not have the strength to get angry at him. So, she said to Charlie, “Then, hurry up and make me a bowl of noodles!”
