Chapter 86 - 86 Bitten

Chapter 86 - 86 Bitten

86 Bitten

After a short while, Xie Heng approached the bed as well.

“I’ll sleep on the outside,” he whispered and climbed into the bed before lying down.

Zhao Chuchu opened her eyes to look at him and said, “You can sleep on the floor if you really want to.”

Xie Heng did not react to her taunt.

As she wasn’t in an apocalyptic world anymore, Zhao Chuchu’s sleep quality had gotten much better. It didn’t take long for her to fall asleep.

!!

Xie Heng gently turned around and looked at the lady whose body was almost covered by the blanket except for her head which was still visible to him.

The room was completely dark.

And yet, Xie Heng was able to clearly see Zhao Chuchu’s face, which had slightly reddened from the warmth of the room and the blanket.

Her eyes were closed, and she looked gentle and quiet. There was no hint that would suggest that she was a person who could fight.

After getting along with her for the past few days, Xie Heng was sure that the Zhao Chuchu in front of him wasn’t the Zhao Chuchu he had known. Instead, she was a complete stranger.

However, it was very clear that she trusted him.

The man had no idea where all the weird stuff she had come from, and he never intended to ask her.

He also had no intention of offending a lady who could fight.

There were still a lot of things waiting for him to do. As it wasn’t wise to make unwanted enemies, he chose not to ask her and even helped her come up with explanations for them.

If she could cure the poison on his little brother, he would owe her a huge favor. There was no way he would repay her kindness with betrayal.

As he watched her, Zhao Chuchu suddenly turned into Xie Heng’s arms.

The man froze immediately.

Just as he was about to push her away, she wrapped her arms around him.

Xie Heng instantly held his breath.

He had never come in contact with a woman at such a close distance.

The man never imagined that a woman’s body could be that soft.

Xie Heng was a little shocked and was at a loss too.

It took him a while to calm down. He tried to move Zhao Chuchu’s hand away as he wanted to get out of bed and away from her.

He was planning to spend the night back by the table again.

“Ham! Don’t run! You’re mine!” However, Zhao Chuchu hugged Xie Heng even tighter and even bit him. After a while, she finally loosened her bite. “This doesn’t taste good…”

Although she did say that, she still didn’t let go of him.

Xie Heng was now completely speechless.

He could not believe that the lady would find him disgusting after biting him.

“How can she be so defenseless?” he thought. “Is she not worried that I might do something to her?”

Xie Heng tried to push her away again, but tears suddenly rolled down her cheeks. “Don’t take my ham away from me!”

Even more speechless, the man thought he didn’t want to eat ham again for the rest of his life.

Yet, seeing her cry, he couldn’t bring himself to push her away anymore.

It took Zhao Chuchu a few minutes to turn around and let go of the man.

Xie Heng couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.

What the man did not notice was that Zhao Chuchu, who had her back toward him now, was wide awake. Her expression showed that she was troubled.

She woke up when she bit down on Xie Heng’s shoulder. Fortunately, her acting was good enough to trick Xie Heng into thinking she was still dreaming, or else he might think she was intentionally seducing him.

“What a blunder!” she scolded in her head. “This is so bad! If not for all the good food he had made, I would never have dreamt of food when I slept next to him!”

For the rest of the night, Zhao Chuchu was reluctant to fall into a deep sleep, worrying that she might think that Xie Heng was food and bite him again.

The following day, Xie Heng woke up very early.

When he washed his face and touched his shoulder, he noticed that the bite mark was still there.

It was close to his neck, but, fortunately for him, the weather was already getting cold, and his shirt had a tall collar. It was barely able to cover the bite mark.

On the other hand, Zhao Chuchu seemed normal, acting as if nothing had ever happened. She got out of bed not long after Xie Heng.

She even asked, “Why did you wake up so early?”

“I couldn’t fall back asleep once I woke up,” he simply replied.

“I wonder if Junjun is awake or not. Why don’t we go get something to eat outside?” Zhao Chuchu asked excitedly.

Seeing how interested the lady was in food, Xie Heng nodded. “I know a place that sells good breakfast here in Yuanjiang County. Let’s eat there later.”
