Chapter 324: Dao: The Gathering

“Kehoff!” The Grand Elder let out a cough as the floor beneath him was covered with bloodstains. He let out a shuddering breath as his face turned pale.

“Grand Elder, are you fine?” Xiao Ya asked as she faced the pale-faced Grand Elder.

“You do not need to see that much in the future. This war concerns the fate of this planet, so I think it might be extremely difficult for you to see anything at all.”

The Grand Elder shook his head, as he pushed Xiao Ya’s hands away.

His eyes stared forward, looking the assembly of people in front of him.

Currently, the Grand Elder and Xiao Ya was inside the Royal Palace of the Central Divine Empire.

Considered as the number one power in the Immortal Continent, the Central Divine Empire naturally took reins on organizing the armies and logistics for the war against the God Continent.

As of now, almost all of the powerful Fifth Stage and Immortal Practitioners were gathered in the Royal Palace.

They were all invited by the Central Divine Empire regarding the matter of the war with the God Continent.

Almost all of them came, except for some practitioners that were either rogue, evil, or those who are leader of organizations that are not tightly affiliated with the Immortal Continent.

“So the Father did not come huh. Still busy with his experiments I guess.” One of then Immortals muttered as he noticed the missing person. “Well whatever, we don’t need him anyway.”

At the start of the meeting, the Grand Elder of the Immortal God Sect offered to perform a divination regarding the future of the war against the God Continent.

Everyone agreed, knowing the talent that the Grand Elder had.

“......”

Everyone frowned as they saw what happened to the Grand Elder.

From the way that the Grand Elder spat some blood, the practitioners in the Royal Palace realized that the situation might not be that good.

“I tried to see all the possible scenarios that might happen in this war. See? I even used my favorite cigarette to get me high.” The Grand Elder said as he tried to puff one more from his cigarette.

Too bad for him his wife was watching, who snatched the stick away from him.

“..... Anyways, even with that ‘high’, I was unable to see what happens next.” The Grand Elder mumbled apologetically. “Even my eyes are not worthy enough to steer the entirety of this war.”

Grand Elder’s confession turned the atmosphere in the Royal Palace more somber.

From the looks of it, they can only rely on their spies and on the forces they amassed to beat the enemies.

“So what does the Assassin Organization said to our offer? Did they accept our payment in exchange for some information?” The Fang Clan Patriarch said as he faced the Zhou Clan Patriarch.

“We need those information so that we can bolster our plans!”

“Don’t worry, I took care of that.” The Zhou Clan Patriarch replied slyly.

“One of the Elders of the Assassin Organization said that in exchange for the information that they had, we should give them 3 Evil God Hearts.”

“That’s too much!” Ye Wang, the Head of the Beast Master Sect bellowed.

“Just having one Evil God Heart is too much for us, and yet they want 3? They seem to be intent on milking us!”

“Shut up musclehead.” This time it was the sect head of the Transcendent Sword Sect, Jian Bing who said her piece. “If the info that they have is worth it, giving out 3 Evil God Hearts is a necessary compromise for us.”

“But....” Ye Wang wanted to say more, but he was interrupted by a gentle giggle.

“Ye Wang, our continent is at the brink of war, and yet you do not want to sacrifice something? You seem to be taking this war as a child’s play.”

The speaker was a man, basing at the sound of his voice.

But this man’s appearance was so beautiful that if he did not talk, even a male might fall for him!

“Daddy!” Xiao Ya’s eyes brightened as she leapt into the beautiful man’s waiting arms.

Jian Bing looked sad as she looked at the blissful scene. She let out a sigh as she imagined that it was her who was hugging Xiao Ya.

Xiao Ya seemed to be not embarrassed by what she was doing now. She even giggled as the beautiful man tickled her nose.

This beautiful man was Xiao Ya’s father, Xiao Shen!

Some of the men in the proximity let out an awkward cough, as if they remembered something sour after seeing Xiao Shen.

Even Ye Wang was rendered speechless when Xiao Shen appeared. Ye Wang tried to say something, but some memories of his past made him unable to speak even just a word.

As for Xiao Shen, he smiled as he poked his lovely daughter’s cheeks.

“Huhuhu, are you so busy that you can’t even visit your daddy and mommy? If not for this meeting, maybe the next time I see you was on your wedding!”

“Wedding!” Jian Bing’s eyes widened after hearing this, as if she could not believe what she heard.

“Dad!” Xiao Ya pouted as she moved out of the hug. She seemed to act like a spoiled little girl whenever Xiao Shen was around.

“Marriage is definitely out of my mind for now. I have more important things to consider, just like this war!”

“Oh really?” Xiao Shen smiled as he patted Xiao Ya’s head. “From what I heard, you have been quite busy ‘training’ your disciple Fang Yu before she went away to train by herself. Seems like all those ‘trainings’ took off your mind from marriage.”

Everyone in the Royal Palace chose to say nothing, as they knew about Xiao Ya’s preference for females.

Adding the fact that Fang Yu was seductive beauty, and everyone was sure that some of the ‘trainings’ Xiao Ya had with Fang Yu were the steamy, personal and intimate trainings that require bodily contact.

“Hmph!” Xiao Ya seemed to be pissed by what she heard as she crossed her arms and ignored Xiao Shen for the rest of the gathering.

While the doting father was busy trying to placate his daughter, the other Immortals in the gathering had something else bothering them.

“Is the Central Divine Emperor still not coming out of the Central Divine Plane? It’s been a year already! Right when we need him the most was the time he was actually gone! This is so unlucky!” One of the few Immortals muttered as they let out tired sighs.

In the Immortal Continent, it was unanimously considered that its strongest expert was no other than the current Central Divine Emperor!

He was unbeaten throughout his whole life, defeating all of the Immortals and some Gods in the Immortal Continent, including the hidden immortals and those who wanted to just stay quiet!

The only one that the Central Divine Emperor was not able to face was the Million Hand Sword God, who died before they could face off.

But even with that slight chink, there was no doubt that the Central Divine Emperor was the most domineering expert in the Immortal Continent now!

But the problem was, the Central Divine Emperor was currently missing!

No, not missing.

The Central Divine Emperor was currently inside the holy treasure of the Central Divine Empire, the Central Divine Plane!

It was said that this plane was a hidden planet, which contained countless rare resources and even legacies from powerful practitioners!

The Central Divine Empire’s rise to power was directly tied to the Central Divine Plane.

Even the accomplishments of the current Central Divine Emperor were also related to the Central Divine Plane.

“Just a year ago, the Central Divine Emperor said that he received an augury advising him to enter the Central Divine Empire to find something there. He did not say what he was supposed to get. He just activated the formation and entered the Central Divine Plane. And as you can see now, he’s still not going out.”

If the Central Divine Emperor was just with them, then half of the worries of the Immortal Continent will be gone!

But reality was not always ideal.

“.....”

But the dilemmas that everyone were feeling right now suddenly increase once more.

“Boom!” Everyone’s eyes widened as they felt an extremely powerful aura.

They shivered, as they could feel the tyrannical might of this aura!

“What the hell is this!” Someone from them asked.

But no one answered, as they were worried about this aura in a slightly different way.

They were anxious because this aura came from the direction of the God Continent!

There was no mistaking it! This dreadful aura was gushing out from the God Continent, and it was actually getting stronger and stronger over time!

Everyone shuddered as they thought to themselves,

“What did the God Continent do to produce this kind of aura?”
