Chapter 16: A Success
Finally, Friday arrived, and I eagerly contacted Eman to inform him of the drug deal I had with Seba.
"Eman, get your men ready and meet me at the train station at 2:00."
"Sure," he replied.
I began to prepare myself and went to the kitchen to tell my mother that I would be leaving.
"When will you be back, honey?" she asked.
"I'll be back in the evening," I said.
With the clock ticking, I made my way to the kitchen to notify my mother of my imminent departure.
"I'll be back in the evening, Mom," I assured her as she prepared dinner.
While walking towards the train station, I unexpectedly encountered a distressed woman who swiftly collided with me, causing both of us to tumble to the ground.
"Please, help me! I'm being followed by a man!" she exclaimed, her trembling voice tugging at my empathy.
"What?! Come with me, lady," I said, standing up and grabbing her hand.
She looked like an angel, and I wanted to help her. We ran to a nerby story hiding ourselfs from the stalker. Acting like we were buying groceries I took a brief moment to call Eman and inform him of the slight delay.
Curiosity piqued, I turned to the woman, eager to understand her predicament.
"Tell me, why is this person after you?" I inquired with concerned face.
She replied, "I owe him money."
"Well, don't worry. I'll help you as much as I can,".
Grateful, she thanked me, tears of relief streaming down her face.
"By the way, what's your name?" I asked.
"I'm Pia," she replied softly.
We remained in the store for a few minutes before leaving the store and parting ways. However, to my surprise, a man suddenly seized Pia and dragged her into a secluded corner, shielded from prying eyes. Reacting instinctively, I sprinted towards them, only to discover that the man was none other than one of my people, David.
"David, what the fuck are you doing here? Didn't Eman tell you to go to the train station?" I questioned him, a mix of confusion and frustration evident in my voice.
"Boss, this bitch bought weed from me and never paid," David explained, defending his actions.
Pia looked at me, terror etched on her face as she stammered, "M-Mister, y-you're the boss?"
"Yes, and it seems I misjudged your character" I responded, realizing that my initial impression of her had been inaccurate.
Turning my attention to David, I sought more details. "How much does she owe us?". I questioned, my gaze shifting between Pia and David.
"She owes us $50,"
Turning to Pia, I demanded that she hand over the money.
"I d-don't have the money," she stuttered.
Frustration and disgust welled up within me, causing an impulsive act. I grabbed her by the hair and shouted, "Where is my fucking money, bitch!?"
"I-I don't have it," she said trembling, tears falling down her face.
Overwhelmed by my anger, I punched her face with hefty force. Pia fell to the ground, sobbing, but my demands were not yet fulfilled.
With a sigh, I addressed Pia, "You no longer owe me money, but there's one condition. Give me your phone number, and when I call, you better answer," my words carrying a harsh tone.
"Really?! Thank you, thank you," she exclaimed with visible relief, her hands clasped together in a prayer-like gesture.
"Your happiness is misplaced because you've just stepped in hell, bitch," I spat on her face, leaving her on the floor, and departed.
David's fear and respect for me were visible. It was crucial to create an atmosphere of intimidation to stop any thoughts of betrayal.
As for Pia, well, her story is far from over, so remember her.
Meeting up with Eman and his men at the train station, they greeted me, and we boarded the train. After a 45-minute journey, we arrived in Maribor.
Stepping out the train, paranoia began to creep in, but I walked forward despite my fears. The curious gazes of passersby only heightened my paranoia.
"Why the fuck are these people staring at me? What if they know why I'm here? Shit, I'm going to get killed," I silently contemplated, my mind over complicating everything as usual.
Yet, it was all in my head; no one cared. Anyways, I contacted Seba to inform him of my arrival. He told me to wait at the station for another 10 minutes.
During the wait, I grabbed my mask out of my backpack and slit it on.
Right after, a man arrived with a car, waving us to enter the car. Initially skeptical, I could bring only three men along, so I selected—Eman, David, and Darjan—while the others, I told them to enjoy the city.
We entered the vehicle, commencing our journey towards our destination. Eman and David engaged in conversation when, out of nowhere, the driver interrupted with a dreading warning.
"Try anything funny, and I'll kill all of you," he threatened, his tone laced with menace.
Triggered, I responded, "The fuck did you just say, you motherfucker?"
He repeated his threat. "I said I'll kill you if you do something funny,"
At that moment, Eman, Darjan, and David pulled out their knives from their pocket and held them to his neck. Eman's voice trembled with rage as he shouted, , "You say one more word, and we'll cut your fucking head off!"
The driver was frozen, his hands trembling on the steering wheel as he desperately tried to keep the car on the road, fear paralyzing his every move.
Seated in the back, positioned in the middle, I responded in a chilling, slow manner, "I suppose you don't know your fucking place. You're just a driver, so shut the fuck up and drive."
"A-a...alright alright, just put these knifes down!" He shouted in terror.
I knew he was pissed, but the entire time, he kept his mouth shut. He couldn't do anything; otherwise, his head would be gone.
Eventually he halted the car and told us to leave the car.
We arrived, following the lead of the driver, he led us to an old block that seemed to have been frozen in time, bearing the unmistakable charm of structures from the early 1900s. Its architectural style evoked images of those iconic Russian residential blocks, with their robust graffities and distinctive character.
After climbing thousands of stairs, we finally arrived at the front door. I looked at the driver and asked, "I guess Seba lives here?"
"Yes," he replied.
He rang the bell, and a person opened the door. We went inside, Four men lounged on a couch, smoking weed and engrossed in a football game. At first glance, they appeared chill, but my attention was quickly drawn to a gun resting on the table, arousing unease within me.
"Yo, which one of you is Seba? And what's with the gun?" my voice laced with caution.
A towering man, as imposing as a tree and as robust as a bear, met my gaze. "I'm Seba, and the gun is simply for protection. So, you're the buyer? I must say, I'm disappointed. I expected a more formidable individual, not some fucking guy with a goofy faceless mask."
Darjan and David bristled with anger, but I had earlier told them to keep their mouth shut the whole time
"Yes, I'm just some fucking guy with a goofy faceless mask, but that isn't relevant right now," I replied calmly.
Asserting my authority, I threw a school bag with money onto the table—a substantial sum of around $1000. Seba's eyes widened as he looked at the money.
"Who the fuck are you, man?" he asked, evidently surprised by my boldness.
"It doesn't matter who I am, but... I am the founder of THE HIDDEN WORLD organization," I declared proudly.
"Never heard of it," he said, his tone sounded with skepticism.
"You will eventually,"
He handed over the zip lock bag filled with 350 Ecstasies, and before leaving, I gave a warning, "Seba, make sure your people receive better training. Consider yourself lucky that I'm in a good mood today. Otherwise, your driver's head would be missing."
"I understand. I apologize for any inconvenience," he replied.
If I hadn't mentioned my organization, he would probably have attacked me, but he got careful. It was a smart choice for him because I might have had a lot of people backing me up, so he just left me alone.
Of course, I didn't have shit at that time.
Leaving the premises, I told Eman to call the men who had been enjoying the city and regroup at the train station. The driver, subdued by the gravity of our presence, maintained his silence as he drove us back. Upon meeting up with the others, they buzzed with curiosity, eager to learn about our encounter.
"Men, the mission was a success, and your impeccable performance deserves a special reward," I announced, even tho they didn't do shit, but I had to create an image of a powerful and generous leader they could rely on.
Returning home, I retrieved the promised rewards...
