Chapter 4
Surprisingly, the adamantium didn’t melt when the poisonous fish were placed on it. It was too small to be used as a cutting board, but...
“I see! I can collect these things and use them as a cutting board!”
-Kkiing! Kkiing...
The rock snake nodded but soon realized something was wrong. Making a cutting board out of adamantium, an ore that all rock monsters treasured?
-Kkiing, kkiing!
The rock snake shook its head urgently, but Choi Yeonseung had already decided.
“Okay. I’m going to make a chef’s set while I’m training in the Abyss. I can do that.”
He remembered what his clan leader once said.
-Yeonseung, a person must have a hobby, a hobby!
‘That’s right. Is this the joy of having a hobby... ’
It was a bit different from what his clan leader said, though!
A fresh wind blew in Choi Yeonseung’s heart, which had previously only been filled with training. However, he was still a novice cook. Deciding to learn how to cook wouldn’t suddenly improve his skills.
“Um. There is no way for me to cook it. I’ll just tear it apart and eat it raw.”
-......
Fortunately, Choi Yeonseung wasn’t picky. He endured an ascetic diet even when he was on Earth.
-What are you eating today, Yeonseung?
-I’m having grilled chicken breast, chicken breast slushy made with ground chicken breast, and chicken breast dessert made with ground chicken breast.
-W-We bought and ate food outside.
-Is that so? Then I’ll eat them by myself.
For Choi Yeonseung, eating was all about replenishing nutrients and becoming stronger! Such a person wouldn’t be picky about the little details!
[You have ingested poison.]
[You have succeeded in driving out the poison with?the Origin of the Celestial Divine Arts’ internal energy.]
[Your internal energy has increased very slightly.]
“!”
Choi Yeonseung was surprised. Not only was there a thrilling taste on his tongue, but his internal increased as well. It was a type of poisonous energy. He could change it to internal as long as he wasn’t poisoned.
‘If these fish could be found on Earth, they’d all be eaten since they’re a good source of energy.’
Squeeze!
Choi Yeonseung clenched his fists.
He was going to eat all of the monsters here!
***
Hundreds of years passed again.
[The poison of the Abyss has spread through your body!]
[You have succeeded in driving out the poison with?the Origin of the Celestial Divine Arts’ internal energy.]
[Your poison resistance has reached its limit.]
[You have reached the stage of ‘Immunity to Ten Thousand Poisons.’]
[You have gained the A-rank skill ‘Immunity to Ten Thousand Poisons.’]
[Poison no longer affects you.]
[You can now?extract?poison from your dantian and use it.]
[The stage of your Origin of the Celestial Divine Arts?has risen.]
[It has reached?the peak-class stage.]
“!”
Choi Yeonseung was in the middle of eating fish when messages about the Origin of the Celestial Divine Arts shocked him.
An A-rank skill, Immunity to Ten Thousand Poisons! Among the hunters, those with poison resistance or poison healing magic were popular since they could play a great role in poisonous dungeons. Even for hunters, poison was scary. However, Choi Yeonseung’s new skill didn’t just give him resistance to poison. It gave him complete immunity to it!
‘I never thought I would get Immunity to Ten Thousand Poisons.’
It was a ridiculously good A-rank skill. Reaching the peak stage made him even happier. This was his lifelong dream. Choi Yeonseung could now proudly say he was one of the world’s leading A-grade hunters. It was hunters at a level designated and managed by each country as a strategic weapon!
Of course, this was after returning to Earth.
‘She still hasn’t called me yet... Earth is okay, right?’
Choi Yeonseung felt that even A-grade hunters would fail to prevent the incoming invasion. He had to be at least an S-grade hunter to stop it! Hence, he didn’t panic even if the goddess still hadn’t called him.
‘I have to train more.’
“It’s time to end this.”
His martial arts had reached the peak-class stage and he had gained Immunity to Ten Thousand Poisons, so this poisonous sea was no longer a problem. The monsters swimming in the poisonous sea couldn’t kill or poison Choi Yeonseung. He could just use Origin of the Celestial Finger to defeat those approaching from a distance and the Origin of the Celestial Fist to eliminate those that would manage to get close!
In a single blow, Choi Yeonseung annihilated the monsters and became the king of this body of water.
“Onix... I found a path to the next level at the bottom of the sea.”
Upon reaching the next stage of his martial arts, he finally got close enough to identify the object that had been shining in the sea's depths since he arrived. It was a portal with powerful magic power. It would clearly take him to the next stage of his training.
“I have to go. I need to become stronger. It will be dangerous if you follow me...”
-Kkiing...
The rock snake looked quite sad, almost as if it had foreseen their parting.
“You’re a rock type, after all. You can’t go underwater.”
-Kkiing?
The rock snake cocked its head. This poisonous sea could certainly melt its body, but why did he keep talking about rock types?
“This is goodbye. Go home now.”
-Kkiing. Kkiing.
The rock snake tapped Choi Yeonseung’s hand, melancholically bidding him farewell.
-Kkiing?
With those last words, Choi Yeonseung jumped into the sea and headed to the portal in its depths. In truth, that portal was an abandoned artifact containing the 7th-circle magic ‘Dimensional Door Transference.’?And it was connected to the realm of the constellation known as the ‘Ruler of Blood and Brawls.’
***
Ruler of Blood and Brawls.
Among the constellations of the Abyss, the Ruler of Blood and Brawls was a belligerent, rough, and demon god-type constellation. Constellations were god-like beings. The realms and household members they ruled over had to obey their rules. And there was only one rule in the Ruler of Blood and Brawls’ realm.
-Fight and win!
Brawls constantly broke out all over the constellation’s realm, allowing not even a second of peace. Chefs threw knives at those that tried to order food at restaurants. Even when they closed the door of a cubicle and sat on the toilet, the person in the next cubicle would try to punch them.
In this struggle, everyone was against each other! The Ruler of Blood and Brawls only ever took interest in those who could showcase their skills in this brawl. For that reason, the inhabitants of this realm fought with their lives on the line.
“!!”
Upon his arrival, Choi Yeonseung’s eyes widened. He felt a tingling sensation all over his skin. This was the most blatant killing intent he had felt since coming to the Abyss. It was similar to the killing intent of the monsters he encountered in Earth’s dungeons, but this was dozens of times stronger!
From the kind-looking two-horned demon uncle and the hellhound?he carried to the skinny demon merchant setting up a stall on the side of the road to sell the skeleton of an unidentified creature, he could feel well-polished killing intent.
All their eyes were focused on Choi Yeonseung.
[The Origin of the Celestial Divine Arts senses an incoming?battle.]
[Your body’s energy veins have been automatically activated.]
[Your body has been wrapped with internal energy. Automated defense against external attacks activated.]
When his martial art reached the peak-class stage, his body learned to prepare for combat on its own the moment it sensed hostility. In the event of a surprise attack, his body would release internal energy and enter defense mode. He had truly reached his limit as a warrior!
However, the demons didn’t seem aware of how strong Choi Yeonseung was. To them, he just looked like a clueless being unlucky enough to fall into this realm. After all, the rules of this realm were simple. The weak ones died first!
“Huhu. What is your race, friend?”
“I’m a human.”
“Huhu. A human, huh? Then it must be your first time here. Let this uncle explain to you how things work here.”
“Really? Thank you.”
“First and foremost... ?Newcomers are required to have their throat cut for them to realize that this realm belongs to the Ruler of Blood and Brawls!”
The demon uncle laughed wickedly. From his belly, he pulled out a bone sword that blazed with the evil?magic power?and contained a force so powerful it allowed the sword to easily cut through steel.
Facing this, Choi Yeonseung’s fist burned white.
[Your internal energy is being compressed?to create a strong?fist?energy.]
Fist?energy!
One of the most powerful weapons of martial artists. It was a crystal created by compressing internal energy. It was the reason why he learned martial arts. Unlike magicians, who could use magic to attack monsters from a distance, martial artists needed to pick up a sword and cut their opponents down in melee combat.
Unfortunately, such attacks had little to no effect on monsters since they were extremely sturdy. However, the story changed when they learned sword energy. It brought an explosive increase in their?martial strength?and brought it a step above offensive spells!
While magicians would need to gather magic power first to cast a spell, martial artists could launch attacks?imbued with sword energy several times in a row.
B-grade hunters with first-class martial arts would need to forcibly squeeze out internal energy to use sword energy. However, A-grade hunters—who had peak-class martial arts—could freely wield it.
Choi Yeonseung’s martial arts had reached peak-class. He could now easily manipulate?fist?energy.
Choi Yeonseung blocked his opponent’s bone sword with a fist imbued with fist energy, then struck him using Origin of the Celestial Kick. Choi Yeonseung’s kick was so fast that it left behind afterimages.
A sound similar to a drum bursting echoed, and the kind-looking demon uncle coughed up blood.
“Cough!”
“Come on, demons! I’m here to pass the test!”
“What test?”
"Kuahaha! Yes! This test is necessary to enter Master’s eyes! This human is pretty good!” One of the demons laughed boisterously. He looked down on the human since he looked weak, but he was actually quite strong. He came to pass the test to enter the eyes of the Ruler of Blood and Brawls!
“Kill him!”
“Kuaaaaak! Kyaaaack!”
The demons nearby shouted and showed their true nature. The merchant who was setting up a stall threw the stall away and bit the neck of a nearby demon, while the demon hound that the demon uncle was carrying trampled over its owner and let out a long roar.
A brawl had begun!
Choi Yeonseung landed a knifehand strike on an incoming demon’s throat, sending it flying to an approaching group. He then used the?Origin?of the Celestial Finger to fire internal energy bullets! His fingers unleashed projectiles that pierced through the demons’ knees.
‘This place is way too open!’
Realizing that he was standing in an open area, Choi Yeonseung ran quickly. He had to narrow the range he had to cover.
Choi Yeonseung entered a building, finding a kitchen and dining tables. It seemed even kingdoms of demons had infrastructures.
‘Is it a restaurant?’
In the midst of all this chaos, he wondered if there was something to eat here. He felt as if he had been starving for a long time.
“Welcome, customer!” A demon chef greeted him kindly, then threw a pot and a knife. Unidentified poison bubbled in the pot.
“How about a bowl of poisonous soup?!”
“Thank you so much!”
Choi Yeonseung had Immunity to Ten Thousand Poisons. Hence, despite feeling poison energy from it, he still approached the pot. He swung his hand and sucked in the poison, changing its energy to internal energy in his dantian. Only those with Immunity to Ten Thousand Poisons could perform such a trick!
“!!!”
While the demon chef was shocked, Choi Yeonseung caught the incoming knife and threw it back. He then smashed the chef’s head.
“Here’s a tip!”
The demons belatedly ran in after seeing Choi Yeonseung enter the restaurant. A scuffle broke out in the small dining area. Choi Yeonseung kicked up a table to make a wall, then lifted a chair and poured a lot of internal energy into it. The ordinary bone chair glowed white, making it look like a peerless weapon.
“This human!” A demon charged at him and thrust its spear toward him.
Choi Yeonseung spun the chair around, deflecting the demon’s spear away. He then rushed in.
“U-Uh...!”
Surprisingly, the chair proved to be a perfect weapon for offense and defense. From his opponent’s perspective, it was hard to find an opening they could hit him from. Choi Yeonseung blocked the spear with the chair again and pushed the demon into a wall. The moment it left an opening, he used the Origin of the Celestial Fist to stop its breathing.
Numerous attacks then came from all sides. Choi Yeonseung retreated against the wall to minimize the area he had to cover. He then frantically swung the chair to deflect the attacks.
[By using a chair as a weapon, you have learned the martial art 'Chair Form First'!]
Chair Form Fist, a B+ rank skill.
Amid this battle for survival, he achieved enlightenment! Despite being in the middle of such a desperate fight, Choi Yeonseung continued to grow.
With one hand, he swung the chair to block his opponents’ attacks. With the other, he attacked them ceaselessly using Origin of the Celestial Fist and Origin of the Celestial Finger.
Blood splattered and screams rang out. One by one, the demons fell.
Choi Yeonseung didn’t know how many hours had passed, but he emerged as the last being standing in the restaurant.
Choi Yeonseung sighed deeply. How many more times did he have to fight like this?
“Oh? Isn’t this adamantium?”
Since his senses had become extremely sensitive, Choi Yeonseung could now sense an adamantium mixed in the pot.
“Ah... No... I could barely get that...”
The demon chef, who had just gotten resurrected, tried to kill Choi Yeonseung again. Even if his body was broken, the Ruler of Blood and Brawls could just bring him back to life. However, it would be impossible to recover the pot with a bit of adamantium if it was taken away!
“Shut up.”
Choi Yeonseung kicked the chef and took back the pot. As the winner, he naturally had the right to the spoils of war.
‘I’ve made up my mind.’
Choi Yeonseung decided, having taken a look around the demon restaurant. He?would?fight here in the future!
