Chapter 76: Strength
Finally, Mason and the other newbies woke up from their daze and looked at the man, and he fearfully spoke up, "W-Was brother Jin always this powerful?"
Yes, the man that was throwing Jiang Ling around like a ragdoll was the useless Jin Wang.
Jiang Ling was thrown straight up into the air like a deflated ball and came crashing down after 20 whole seconds.
He struggled to get up and people could see a 'dent' in his abdomen where Jin Wang had kicked him. Jiang Ling was incredulous to such a degree that he thought it was an illusion and tried to wake himself up by pinching himself but it was to no avail.
"How? Who, no, WHAT are you?" he asked Jin Wang still in disbelief.
"Just a soldier. You don't have to worry about it. You should leave now, I don't want to get a princes' blood on my hands today," Jin Wang said in a casual tone but the expressions of the four Jia bodyguards and Jiang Ling himself changed in an instant.
"Who are you?" he asked again, this time much more somberly. There is no way anyone outside the Jia Royal clan should know of his background, how could a no-name random soldier know then?
"You have 5 seconds," instead of answering Jin Wang lifted up his right hand with fingers outstretched and slowly started to make a fist.
"I must have them. There is no other way," Jiang Ling took out a strange object that was one part hammer and one part club with a beast skin and some feathers on the handle.
"So be it," Jin Wang shook his head and stepped out once again, appeared in front of Jiang Ling. Jiang Ling's eyes constricted and he swung the 'hammer' with full power. A brown energy covered the entirety of the hammer as it camming crashing down towards Jin Wang's chest.
Instead of panicking, Jin Wang once again used a simple palm to try and block the attack. When Jiang Ling saw that he turned gleeful and a smile appeared on his face. He could already see the blood coming out Jin Wang's mouth like a fountain.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Once the hammer got close to him, the brown energy surrounding it popped like a bubble and once again he felt like he had hit an immovable mountain.
This time Jin Wang was serious. After stopping the hammer with his right palm, he made a fist with the left hand and punched Jiang Ling's face, which sent him tumbling more than a 100 meters away.
"BOSS!" Steel and Monk shouted simultaneously and shot towards Jiang Ling. When they got to him and dug him out of the 5 meters trench, they saw his bloody condition and were petrified.
Jiang Ling was a Seven Stage Spirit Realm cultivator with Ancient Earthen Giant bloodline, there weren't a lot of things that could hurt him below Profound Realm beings.
Obviosuly Jin Wang wasn't a Profound realm expert, so how was he able to damage his body so much?
By this time, the commotion was enough to attract the attention of several nearby Demonic beasts.
Jin Wang looked sideways and walked into the tent Monk was protecting. The insides were actually much bigger than the outside with a radius of about 20 meters.
There was a formation with an injured man inside, chained up. He looked up as Jin Wang entered and frowned.
"And who might you be?" he asked curiously. Jin Wang smiled in return.
"A friend. The red Legion welcomes the great general," he did a formal bow which looked slightly sarcastic as if he was making fun of him.
"Red Legion?" he repeated the words and after a few seconds, his expression turned cheerful. Jin Wang, with still half a smile on his face, walked forwards but was stopped by the general.
"Stop! This is a low-grade Sky Restriction formation. You have to unlock it, it cannot be dest-" while he was still in the middle of his explanation, Jin Wang unceremoniously walked into the formation and picked up the general with one arm and walked out as if it was completely normal.
"....Eh.....?....." General Shu was stunned. This formation was enough to trap him, an Ex-Great General but this kid just walked in and out like it was just for decoration.
The formation wasn't destroyed or tampered with in any way and was still functioning properly, but Jin Wang was unaffected by it.
He walked out of the tent and put Shu down and ripped apart his Zenkai chains like tofu.
Zenkai was a metal found only in the Beast world. It wasn't terribly strong but it had a special ability to restrict the usage of Qi. Once someone held even a small amount of it in their hands then they would not be able to circulate Qi at all, making it extremely effective against cultivators.
*ROAAAAAR*
Just as Kuo and the party were about to ask Jin Wang about the current situation, an extremely loud beast roar interrupted their thoughts.
Several miles away trees were being ripped apart and thrown around like sticks. Whatever the thing was, it was coming straight for them.
"We should go," Jin Wang said after looking towards its direction.
"Wait, there's someone else in the other tent, I think it would be helpful if you rescued him as well," General Shu pointed at the second smaller tent near the back. Jin Wang didn't want to argue with him so without saying a word he walked in and saw a man in chains with his head wrapped in bandages sitting there. He destroyed the chains and brought him out.
"You two know each other?" he asked looking at Shu, who shook his head in return which piqued his curiosity.
He took the bandages off of the man's face and actually took a few steps back in shock.
The 'man' had a horrific-looking head that resembled a spider with several black eyes. His body was completely normal but the head would give nightmares to the bravest of men.
