Chapter 84: Princess continued.
A few mins after General Li left, a giant black centipede came crawling up from the gorge. Just as Jin Wang was preparing to strike, he saw the people that were sitting on top of it.
"Greetings fellow Daoist. We are here on the princess's orders to guide your people to the main clan," a person from the top of the centipede jumped down. He looked completely normal and other than the fact that his eyes had several pupils. His seemed to be about 30 but looks were deceiving in this world.
"Sure. Please follow me," Jin Wang didn't drag on the pleasantries and took them straight towards 1092's home.
This centipede was an Ether beast. It was a realm higher than demonic beasts and had special abilities. Many beasts at this realm could speak the human tongues and some even had second human bodies that were stored in their meridians, allowing them to exchange bodies whenever needed.
The centipede was a contracted beast of one of the elders of the spider clan. It was many hundreds of years old and was used as a mount for important missions. It had evolved to change its main body to better accommodate for many people. It also had an extremely fast speed and a shell as hard as precious metals.
Jin Wang walked in alone with the man from before who's name was 112. The Mad Saints were all gathered in this place now. Hash, Maddy, and General Shu went to get the rest of the saints, including Wei and Cui.
Kuo was still sitting alone in the room, looming over the 'coffin' Hao Xuan's body was in, still maintaining the energy shield. He looked so haggard that one would think he would fall unconscious any second.
"Oh, you're back. What happened?" he asked enthusiastically when Jin Wang walked in.
"Worry not, lieutenant. I managed to get in contact with headquarters and the Great General himself came to see things through," Jin Wang smiled.
"The great general?!" he stood up in shock. This was a huge deal. He thought at most one of the other leaders or a general would be sent here but this was unexpected to say the least.
"Yes. He made a deal with the Matriarch, they will be treating captain in the main clan. We just have to follow them back, all of us," Jin Wang moved away and gestured towards 112 who was standing right outside the room.
When 112 saw them looking at him, he smiled and entered. "Greetings, I am here to take your people back to main clan grounds."
"O-Oh, sure. Nice to meet you," they exchanged greetings and everyone got ready to move out. The centipede was waiting outside. It was more than large enough to allow for everyone to sit comfortably on it. Kuo, Jin Wang, and 112 were taking care of the coffin themselves.
Instead of going back the same way, this time the centipede went further down and entered a dark tunnel. Its speed was actually faster here than it was above ground and within 10 minutes they came out not far from where General Li had landed after first jumping into the gorge. There was already a group of people waiting to welcome them with smiling faces.
Everyone was led inside and given a nice place to stay. The air inside was even fresher for some reason.
112 led Jin Wang and Kuo through another entrance and after a while, they came to the same grotto where the general met with the princess.
"Junior has brought the respected guests and the patient," 112 shouted from outside and bowed. A few seconds later several women with half their faces covered walked out led by an old lady with a cane that looked it was a limb of a giant insect. She didn't even look at anyone and went up to the coffin to check his condition.
"Take the guests to the resting area," she said still looking at Hao Xuan and 112 led the hesitant Kuo and Jin Wang away. "Bring him in," she said again and the women effortlessly picked up the coffin and walked inside the grotto.
Everything was still the same inside with one chair in the middle and a curtain dividing the room in half. The curtain moved by itself as they walked past it. On the other side was an empty throne and a door behind it.
They walked through the door and into a garden. There were herbs and many different kinds of colorful plants everywhere. Some seemed to be moving on their own, probably alive.
On the other side of the garden was another door. They passed through it as well and entered a large room filled with many dried herbs, some medical instruments laying around and several scrolls left here and there. Several doors were leading into this room from each side.
There was a big stone in the middle of the room with engravings all over it. The women put the coffin on top of it and silently left.
"I still don't understand why we have to use a heavenly pill such as 'that' to save an outsider's life. Do you have any idea how much this is costing us?" the old lady scoffed looking at Hao Xuan's face.
"We must make a good first impression. He is one of the leaders being groomed by the Great Demon himself. Saving his life will get us a lot of face from the demon and all his underlings. Plus, we can make everything back once we step out into the light," came the princess's voice. One of the other doors opened and in walked a girl that looked to be about 17 years of age.
Her hair was unkempt and she looked she had not taken a bath in days. She was wearing just a shirt on top with nothing underneath other than her underwear. She had thick glasses that were dangling off of her face.
This was the famed heavenly beauty of the spider clan. She looked like a shut-in neet mooching off of her family. Her appearance could be described by a lot of words, 'Heavenly' was not one of them.
"How many times have I told you to take care of your hygiene? We had to spread so many rumors about you because you didn't want to leave this place even once," the old lady shook her head looking at the princess.
"Get off my back granny, what's so special about outside? I can have everything I want here so why would I leave?" the princess replied just like she looked, a spoiled brat.
"Just you wait till the Matriarch comes out and finds out about all this," the old lady glared at her and said warningly.
"M-Mother wouldn't hurt her only precious daughter," she stammeringly replied and tried not to meet her eyes.
"Oh, is that so? If my memory serves me right, several times a little brat came to my room hiding from her mother whenever she did something bad. I wonder who that was?" the lady grinned at the princess.
"T-that was just a few times. And I was a kid, she wouldn't do that now....r-right?"
"We will see I guess," the old lady broke out in laughter at the princess's worried expression.
