"Can you get me?"

"Umm... I think I am somewhere outside the city. Just track my phone."

"And yes... Bring me a shirt as well."

Out in the boonies, Alex stood under a tree, looking at his watch restlessly.

"What is taking him so long?" It had been more than thirty minutes since he called Damien, but this lazy slob was nowhere to be seen. But just as he was about to call him again, Alex saw a light beaming at him from far away and coming in close.

Soon, the light got brighter and brighter before a motorcycle stopped in front of him.

"What took you so long?" Alex could not help but throw his arms.

"Don't complain to me. How do you think I got here? I had to tell so many lies because of you." Damien threw a bag at Alex and said, "And I am sure Mom is going to grill us even more when we reach home."

"I am sure you can handle that. I have faith in you," Alex hurriedly unbuttoned his shirt and, turning his face away from the road, changed into a new one. It was already dark that no one could see him, but he still acted this way.

"I am no saint to face our mother for you," Damien refused to help without a second thought, "But what was so urgent that you had to leave the party? I had to drop Claire and her daughter home. And what in the hell are you even doing here? Out in nowhere?" Damien looked at Alex for answers.

"It's a long story. I will tell you on the way," Alex said as he threw his dirty shirt in the bag and sat behind Damien, "C'mon, let's go."

"You seem to be making plans of your own," As soon as Alex walked down the stairs rubbing his eyes, he heard his father.

George was sitting on the sofa, enjoying his morning coffee with his newspaper, when he saw Alex climb down. Last night, the brothers came very late, George wanted to ask a few things, but he decided not to for the time being. Instead, he asked his people to check on Alex's whereabouts during that time, but to this moment, none have come up with anything.

"Sorry, Dad. My friend got into an accident... I had to go there," Alex poured himself a glass of water as he answered his father.

"You have friends? That's news to me. Otherwise, I had to play the role of introducing you to everyone," Damien jumped in as he watched something on the television.

"Of course, I have friends," Alex made faces at his brother, "And I have many at that..."

"Ohh..." Damien rolled his eyes, not believing a word Alex said.

"Who was it?" George asked.

"Karen... You know, I used to work under her while I was at the station," Alex told George.

"Under her... Huh... Not bad, bro... Not bad," With a meaningful smile on his face, Damien winked at his brother.

"I wish... Isn't she just beautiful? Way out of your league,"

"You are getting bold... Nice," Damien smirked, "Mom! Marriage is on the card in this house."

"Will you shut it?" Alex tried to shush Damien. The idiot was going into uncharted territory.

[And in the morning news today, the city woke up to two horrifying incidents, which will make you question yourself, Are we? You and me safe in this city anymore?]

The conversation between Damien and Alex was interrupted.

[And the reason I am saying this, is because last night, the heir of the Unani corporation. Yes, you heard me right. I am talking about Jaleel Unani. The rich man you have seen in the news for all the wrong reasons. But whatever the reason may be, you all can agree that the rich man was not someone the likes of us could touch.]

[Surrounded by dozens of bodyguards all the time, the man is more secure than the mayor himself.]

[But something unexpected happened yesterday. Allegedly, Jaleel, along with his friends, slipped out of the auction party hosted by the Wilson family.]

[Oouu...Now that's something I am sure you want to hear more about, but hold your horses for now. We will talk about it later.]

[So, Jaleel and his friends ditched their bodyguards and left the party. Well, few heads are going to roll now because of their mischief.]

[And what happened after that is a mystery. Yes, you heard me right, no one knows what happened after that, no eyewitness, no camera, nothing. And the police are also refraining from letting out more details. But we know one thing, Jaleel ended up in the hospital severely injured along with his friends.]

[We don't know much about the details, but to injure nearly a dozen young men, we fear that it might be the work of a gang. Was Jaleel, along with his friends, caught in between a gang war? Or was he one of the participants? We don't know. But from what little we know from the hospital. We know for sure that Jaleel is not waking up anytime soon.]

[So, how safe are you guys? I will let you ponder that on your own.]

[As for the other incident, a man was found in a dumpster of an abandoned building on the outskirts of the city. Heavily injured, the man was hanging on the last straw of his life when he was found. But since he is a nobody, this is the most coverage he will get...]

[God... Why do these lonely people have to go to the boonies to die?]

[Anyways... Now, in the other news]

"Huh... Didn't I pick you up from close to that place?" Damien asked, looking at his brother.

"Well, I was very far from that place," Alex averted his eyes from Damien, Whistling to himself.
