Chapter 276 - Crush
Lu Xingyan stared at the garden located below her balcony. Her chin was resting on her palm. Despite looking at the beautiful flowers, her thoughts brought her back to what happened last night.
She could remember his warm lips against hers. His touch ignited something in her body. She never thought that she was capable of feeling such p???sur? from him.
Of all the men she could be attracted to… why does it have to be Han Xukun? Her cousin, Lu Mengjie's fiance?
It was wrong. Very wrong even if she knew that her cousin didn't like him back.
The girl's attention was caught when her eyes caught a glimpse of a familiar man, walking out of the forest.
Speaking of the Devil.
Han Xukun's silver hair was already catchy enough. He was like a snow lion, walking with elegance and majesty. He radiated superiority around him. It was as if he was not the same gentleman she had spent the night with.
As if noticing someone's eyes on him, the silver-haired man came to a stop just beside the rose garden. He turned towards the direction where he felt the gaze come from.
Lu Xingyan didn't hide. She wanted him to see her. His senses were refined and sharp. It amazed her that he was able to feel her eyes on him.
The moment their eyes met, she felt her cheeks heat up. What should she do? Should she wave her hand? Mouth a 'hi'? No, that was so out of her character but… she wanted to do at least one to at least greet him. Would it be awkward for them?
They ended up staring at each other for a while. There were no hand waves, smiles, or even mouthing a greeting to each other. It was as if they were both pulled to their world.
Did Juliet feel this way when she saw Romeo below her balcony?
No, she didn't want to be like Juliet, neither did she want her love story to be like theirs.
Finally, she caught his face crack when she saw the side of his lips curl up into a small, knowing smile.
She was like a mirror, copying him with a smile. She couldn't suppress her lips.
A knock brought her back to her senses, making her instinctively turn towards her room's door.
"Xingyan, it's me." Lu Yifeng's fatherly voice was heard.
"Ah… wait a minute." She mumbled. It was not like he could hear her. She took one last glance at the garden but the man she had been staring with for minutes was already gone. Without wasting a second, she hurriedly went to open the door of her room.
She looked at the breakfast he brought and noticed that it was not for one person only.
"I hope you don't mind me joining you for breakfast." His face may be void of emotions but the ambiance he emitted said otherwise. He was just like any other father who only wanted to make sure that his daughter was fine.
"I don't mind at all. Come in, dad." She took a step to the side, allowing her father to enter the room. When he did, she shut the door behind her before she followed him towards the coffee table. She sat on the sofa, beside him.
"Your mother called earlier. She wanted to talk with you but you were not around earlier," he began. He took the chopsticks and gave them to her.
"I need to have my morning walk as always. It helps the brain gain more oxygen." Her nose twitched but lucky enough, her father was not facing her to see it.
A deep chuckle was heard from him. "Even after what happened to you?"
"Of course. It's a must. I need to take care of my brain," she replied in a kidding manner before she began digging into the food he brought her.
When was the last time she has spent such an alone moment with her father? She couldn't remember. Maybe there was no moment. It was always either with her older twin and older brother.
The moment she tasted the food, she realized how hungry she was. Her stomach grumbled in complaint.
"Take it slow. The food is not going anywhere," her father reminded as he beheld his daughter eat.
"Ah… I apologize." She began slowing her pace when she realized that she was eating like a starving person.
Lu Yifeng quietly watched his daughter, his eyes softening. "Do you want to have my share too?"
"I'm not Jiejie, dad. My appetite is not as big as hers." She pouted.
"But it seems like your share is not enough right now." He began placing his share of meat on her bowl of half-eaten rice. "Eat more."
"Since you insist." She sighed helplessly. It was not like she was going to reject his offer. She was indeed… a bit more hungry than usual.
"Anyway, when are we going back, dad?" She asked while she was in the middle of consuming her food.
"Do you want to go back already?" He was planning to involve himself in taking care of the Murong family, after all, they messed with his daughter.
She paused and looked at him as she trailed off, "I have school…"
"I'm sure that you can handle that well."
She didn't mind staying longer. That means that she would have more opportunities to meet her silver-haired crush agai--
Wait, what? She paused at her thoughts when she realized what just entered her mind.
It was a good thing that she didn't have food in her mouth or else she would have choked on it already.
Crush? What crush was she thinking about?
"Is there something that matters?" Her father asked when he saw that she was distracted by something.
"I… have a crush on someone…" she unconsciously muttered out loud, surprising the man beside her.
