Selena did not stay smug for long after eating the barbecue.

After they entered the bedroom, Eric was suddenly interrupted by an urgent call.

When he came back after the phone call, Selena was already curled up on the bed due to a stomach ache. She dared not move.

Eric’s complexion changed, and he took a deep breath.

Selena slowly stretched out her hand and looked at him with disappointment.

“Quick, help me! What are you still doing?”

Eric immediately called the hospital, then he bent down to pick her up and ran outside.

As soon as he went out, he saw the driver had just sent Chance home.

Chance watched in shock as Eric rushed into the car with Selena.

“Aunt Selena, what’s wrong with you?”

What the doctor said was simple and clear.

Eric knew that if he woke Selena up at this moment, she would take out all her anger on him.

Eric took a nap on the sofa outside.

It was dawn when Selena woke up.

Aside from her pale lips, Selena’s complexion was much better than last night.

Selena opened her eyes, looked at the strange environment, and was in a trance for a moment.

Selena got out of bed, went out, and saw Eric, who was lying there. He looked flawless even in his sleep.

Eric had waited for her all night.

It turned out that he was not so heartless after all.

Selena thought they were even now.

She went over and nudged Eric’s shoulder. He woke up quickly.

“You’re awake? Are you still feeling sick? Should I call a doctor?”

Selena shook her head and showed a pale smile.

“No need. I’m just a little hungry. Shall we go back?”

Eric immediately sat up and nodded.

“Let’s go.”

Eric stood up, took her hand, touched her face, and said seriously, “It’s a good thing that you feel hungry.”

He walked out afterward.

Selena was taken aback. She frowned.

“Did you stay here all night? I’m sorry for wasting your time.”

Eric paused. His face suddenly became a little gloomy.

However, he smiled with restraint and did not lose his temper.

“It’s good that you know this. You should learn to be grateful!”

He gave her a meaningful look, held her hand tightly, and then strode out.

Selena did not react at first.

As soon as Selena struggled, Eric clenched her hand even tighter.

He gave her a warning look.

“Don’t move around. I won’t look for you if you get lost.”

Selena curled her lips and suddenly felt that his cold expression was not so annoying anymore.

Perhaps she had never found him annoying.

Eric was just sharp-tongued, but he had a kind and soft heart.

The discomfort in Selena’s heart from yesterday eased.

The two of them got into the elevator and stood side by side.

Eric suddenly thought of something. “Where did you go to eat barbecue yesterday? The test report came out. You got food poisoning because of spoiled ingredients. Should I get a lawyer for you?”

Selena frowned and paused.

“No. If you sue them, they will go out of business! It’s just a food truck. I was just unlucky.”

After all, her mood greatly improved after eating at that food truck.

The couple that ran the food truck did not look vicious either.

Something probably went wrong with their ingredients during shipment.

Eric glanced at her in disapproval.

However, he did not say anything. After all, Selena would not listen to him.

Back at the villa, Chance was still at home.

Eric looked at him with displeasure. “Why didn’t you go to school?”

Chance glanced at Selena carefully.

“I was worried about Aunt Selena, so I called the teacher for a day off.”

Selena did not bring her phone, and Chance did not dare to call Eric to ask about Selena’s condition.

Thus, he just stayed at home and waited.

Seeing that Selena was back, Chance felt relieved.

Selena touched Chance’s small face and felt very emotional.

Chance blushed and smiled happily.

Eric sneered from the side. “Why, are you going to start discussing metaphysics with him now?”

Eric stayed there all night, but Selena did not say anything nice to him.

However, Selena had indeed recovered quickly.

She stayed in the bar all day and discussed interior design with Chaz.
