Chapter 43: The Forgotten Dungeon [3]
Chapter 43: The Forgotten Dungeon [3]
Monsters in the shape of wild boars.
But they were nothing compared to the wild boar I caught with my bow earlier.
These were much larger, with thicker necks and heads. Their protruding molars were so long and sharp that getting stabbed by them would be disastrous. There were nearly ten of them.
Thump thump thump!
The creatures came rushing in like bulldozers. I fired an arrow without any hesitation.
Wedge!
Thwack!
The arrow passed through one of the boar monster's heads.
"Tch."
I clicked my tongue in regret. The original target was its eyes. I had some luck on the mountain earlier, but I still had a long way to go.
Even so, it wasn't ineffective; it just couldn't be neutralized with a single blow.
This isn't just a bow. The named item is Marcus Bow, made from a skeleton imbued with the Skeleton King's immense resentment.
That's why even a simple brush with it would cause a vicious curse of weakening to fall upon the opponent. The curse of weakening lowers all of the opponent's abilities. The movements of the one already hit by the bow were noticeably slower.
That one was no longer a threat.
My gaze quickly turned to the others.
These monster were already almost upon us. It was impossible to shoot arrows anymore.
'Just one step? … I need to increase the speed a bit; this is useless.'
I muttered to myself about what I needed to improve on and picked up my sword instead of my bow.
I knew a lot about them since I had killed them thousands of times. Their massive strength and sharp molars were clearly a threat.
However, their limitations were their slower speed and linear movements.
'It can be avoided.'
I saw the empty space between the creatures, and then I flew straight towards that spot.
Knock knock knock!
Whoosh!
I dodged the rush with a swipe. The boars' charge was helplessly stuck in empty air.
A situation where the mastermind is completely taken over, and only when you catch them from behind can you see their fatal weakness: right in the anus.
That was their weak point. I knew that once I stabbed them there, they would die instantly with a sound like a pig being slit.
"Then shall we go and slaughter a pig?"
I quickly approached the nearest boar monster before it could turn around and stabbed its anus with my blade.
"Ugh!"
The sound of a pig being slaughtered echoed through the air. The boar's body trembled as if it were about to faint. Then it quickly lost strength and fell to the floor.
"Just one." I moved without stopping.
Phew!
"Kuaeak!"
Phew!
"Quite a lot!" I knocked down three of them in a row in the same way.
Only then did my gaze gain some leeway, and I looked at Kamian and Annette.
"Whoaap!"
Kamian was locked in a soul-to-spirit showdown with a wild boar monster, raising his voice.
Still, one of them was seen lying on the ground, covered in wounds, apparently having been dealt with.
I could tell just by looking at the body that Kamian had absolutely no idea how to deal with the boar monster.
The boar monster's skin was thick and tough. If he attacked such a place, the boar monster would not be easily defeated.
So, there was no choice but to exert so much effort and engage in a battle of the souls. Still, Kamian was better.
"Gyaaak! Don't come!" Annette was busy screaming and running away.
"… "
I understand. Because she's a healer.
Even when I think about it, I remember that I had the ability to easily catch a few of those pigs... . It was only two chapters, but I guess I was asking too much from her.
"Don't come!"
Still, she managed to avoid their attacks with a basic rhythm. No matter what, I couldn't just leave it like this.
"Hey! It's the anus!" I mercifully taught them the weakness.
"What, what did you say?" Annette asked, her expression bewildered.
"?"
Kamian also looked as if he was doubting his ears. It was only then that I realized I had simply shouted "anus."
The omission was too much.
"The anus is the weak point, so attack the anus!"
I shouted again. It may sound funny that their weak point was there, but it was a do-or-die situation in their desperate state.
Kamian's gaze was already focused on the boar's rear.
"Squeak!"
A wild boar monster charged while roaring. But Kamian boldly performed a trick by sliding between the boar's legs.
Then, as if he had been waiting in a place where the anus was visible, he raised his sword.
Phew!
"Pretty much!"
The effect was, of course, certain. With a sound like a pig squealing, the boar fell down with a thud. Kamian's eyes lit up with surprise. He had his doubts, but he had no idea it would be this effective.
"oh my god?"
Annette, who was running away, also saw it. But her face showed she didn't have the courage to attack easily. I spoke strongly to her.
"What are you doing? You learned magic as decoration? Fire a Magic Arrow at the anus!"
Magic Arrow was a basic spell everyone learned, but its power wasn't something to underestimate.
At least it was enough to target the boars' weak spots. The problem was her mental state. That's why I spoke strongly and used vulgar language on purpose.
Fortunately, it worked; she muttered with wavering eyes.
"Again, shit…Ah, no, anus with a magic arrow?"
Even in the midst of all this, laughter escaped from seeing her hastily correct her words.
"Yeah! If you can't even do that, you'll be holding Kamian's ankles for the rest of your life!"
I sold Kamian's name because nothing works better for her than that. I could feel her expression changing instantly.
"That, that can't be!" With a determined face, Annette faced the boar monster head-on.
Knock knock knock!
"Squeak!" She quickly recited a spell and shouted the opening words, waiting for her chance to dodge the charging boar monster's attacks.
"Magic Arrow!" An arrow of mana was created and flew quickly toward the boar's anus.
Phew!
"Aghhhaaa!"
The boar, its anus shattered, fell down screaming.
"Hey, I did it!" She clenched her fists tightly, overwhelmed by the moment.
"It's still far from over. Let's get rid of the rest."
"Yeah."
"Okay, senior!"
So the three of us completely slaughtered the remaining boars.
