Chapter 122: [Creation Index!]
Chapter 122: [Creation Index!]
Do you know about 'the idea of the truth'? A fact that people know but cannot confirm. They believe in its existence from the moment they are born till the day they die. Though it doesn't cause any problem in their normal way of living, if once corrected, it might change the entire outlook of one's life.
The idea of truth is a necessary evil for a being to thrive in the world.
What will happen after death? What will happen after the planet dies? Do people get to have another life or do people have lived before they were born? The idea of truth is often a fascinating topic that many dwell but not go too deep into.
One such idea of truth is always 'maybe we will survive this ordeal' or 'even if we die, our next life will be better.' It gives people hope that everything that is going to happen next is going to be better than what they are going through. A crude fantasy that even if true, had more chance of getting a worse life than what they had right now.
The natives of the twin planet felt the chance echoing through the surface of their planet. Even though it was barely sensable, they felt that the planet of theirs was dying rather fast. All struggles that they had been through, the wars they faught, the life the had lived, seemed rather meaningless as the fate of the world was put on the table in front of them.
What will happen next? Will they survive? Dozens of questions appeared in their mind before their eyes slowly gazed at the Gods that were also witnessing the end with them.
Surely the Gods can save us. They are Gods after all.
Like I said before, the idea of truth is a necessary evil. It has little meaning objectively, but in situations like this, where everything is inevitable, one may let his mind wander… or perhaps force their mind to have such thoughts. The thought that there must be a way to save them through the imminent danger.
It was the same for the guy trying to save his family. It was the same for the elf who was on the verge of sacrificing herself. And obviously, if I forgot to mention, it was the same for the people here.
"What is going on? My stats are decreasing!" One of the players spoke as he looked at his status. And as if a contagious virus, the others also began noticing the shift in their status attributes.
While the panic ensued, making everyone wonder what exactly was going on, I looked at the map, or to be precise, this entire world at once.
Since I have only marked the surface, I didn't know what was going on within the core of the planet, but perhaps because of my newly attributed skills, it was easy to figure everything out.
The planet was expanding.
Or to be precise it was slowly 'bursting' out. Like an explosion but extremely slowed. And while the planet was losing energy, the others weren't spared from the effects either. Everyone, including the players, the npcs and the gods, was facing the same fate.
The only exceptions were the Admins, the uninvited player, the soul of the first floor and me. While the others were simply omitted because of being 'external factors' I was excluded because of that blessing that I received for clearing those quests.
[Blessing: Loved by the Twin Planets!
Grade: SSS
Effect: As long as you exist on any of the two planets, there is not a single existence that can harm you!]
My eyes then shifted to the entrance to the safe zone. Although there was little interference to it, as the planet was expanding, it wouldn't be long until it too started collapsing with the planet's energy.
Hmmm… we have about 30 days… it lines with the quest duration, huh?
The Gods saw everything that I saw, and as the planet withered slowly in front of their eyes, their composure broke while they tried their best to maintain their poker face. Though given the grave circumstances, it was becoming harder as the time was passing.
Each second felt like an eternity wasted, while they slowly turned at me, hoping I would solve their problems, whooshing it all the way. It won't be what an 'idea of truth' is but it's something along the same line of thoughts.
'Well. It's not like they are wrong though,' I thought as I looked at the device in my hand
Item: World Connector!
Grade: Ex
Effects: Increases the connection of the User to the World by 50%, allowing him to partially take control of the world he is in.
Limit: This item can only be used once!]
"Here goes nothing…" I mumbled as I began channeling my energy into the [World Connector!]. While they were rather thin, I think I saw threads coming out of this item.
The threads spread out wide, covering the entire planet at once before they reached back to me. My eyes kept gazing at the map, which was seemingly still in motion. Those threads though invisible, via a quick calculation, became easy to trace through.
They converged and diverged, spun out and then intertwined. Forming a complex pattern, they seemed to be basing themselves over the energy of the system. An artifact that was seemingly perfect, to be able to capture the fate of the world as it was dying down, I saw those threads then further reaching out to me, while I stood there letting those threads connect with my own existence.
And as soon as that happened…
"Save… me… I am… scared…" a voice… no… there were two voices… they echoed in my mind. Voices that felt too pure, too divine. All the while it felt refreshing, it also felt sad. Lonely. Lost.
"It's okay," I spoke as I called it out. It wasn't hard to figure out who was speaking those words. While it was a thought that once may bear to think and wonder, I, given my situation, didn't have the luxury to go deep into it.
"Who… are you?" The voices asked, making me wonder how to answer this question. There were many answers to it but in the end I chose the simplest of all,
"Just a traveler from far away. Would you like me to help you out of your situation? It doesn't seem like we have a lot of time."
A strange silence ensued for a few seconds before the voices came again," please. Traveler. Help me out."
And then, a strange pulsation began spreading around my body while I began connecting myself with the planet itself. The source of the voice, the souls of the twin planet, allowed me to completely connect with the twin planets before a message appeared in front of me.
[You have established a strong connection with the Twin Planets!]
"Nora… will you?" I then turned to Nora who was observing me all this time. Her gaze was filled with curiosity, it seemed as if she had dozens of questions she wanted to ask me. But knowing the situation, she put those questions aside.
Nodding at my words, she then poured her energy into my body as well. While it was obvious, the threads from that artifact began enveloping Nora too. She seemed perplexed with what was happening, but even then, she didn't let go of her hand.
[You have established a strong connection with the soul of the First Floor!]
[Disharmony between the two ends is forcing the accelerated destruction of the source!]
[The Game Master System has sensed an explosion of a high level of energy targeted at the user! Since the user is in direct connection with the hearts of the two sources, he may wish to destroy the sources using the Game Master System!]
[Would you like to destroy the two sources?]
It was all happening rather fast. Things progressed at an insane speed, far too much I would normally be able to handle at once. But even then, I felt calm. As if everything was under my control, I simply saw what the system message said before proceeding to the next obvious task.
And that was to create a path between the two worlds.
The rift's size was enough for a single human to pass through without any problems, but given the amount of GM Points that I would require to fix the entire situation, I decided to open up the rift even more. Enough to make even an airplane pass through.
Though I also need to make sure that the planet doesn't end up collapsing the first floor and destroying both the sides.
[Would you like to absorb the Miasma using [Debug!] skill?]
I clicked yes.
[Would you like to open up a path between the Twin world and the safe zone?!]
I clicked yes.
[Would you like to create a safety device between the paths…]
I clicked yes.
[Would you like to…]
[Would you…]
[Would you…]
Patterns were drawn in front of me, as I kept commanding the two sides removing any coercion possible. And as the commands kept going on, I even began changing the entire structure of the planet wherever needed. Wherever possible.
Perhaps it was because of my gift? That showed me the path that I wanted to see. I had the means. I had the source. I had enough energy, materials. I had everything. And even the path that should have been shrouded in mystery… it was as clear as an open empty freeway.
And as I reached the conclusion….
