The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!

Chapter 22: [F-Grade Dungeon: Nightmare Difficulty!]

Chapter 22: [F-Grade Dungeon: Nightmare Difficulty!]

There were two levels of the underground subway. One was for ticketing, resting and waiting rooms, including restrooms and washrooms. It was the general area of the subway. The lower level was the main subway where the platforms were present.

'Creepy.'

I walked into the general area, where the empty ticket counters and broken steel chairs welcomed me. The blood splattered on the wall, and those broken glasses of the ticket counter created an eerie atmosphere, making me feel as if I were in a horror movie.

Adding to that eerie atmosphere was the dull flickering tubelight that made me wonder if a ghost would spook out of there any moment now. Not really afraid of ghosts, but I am not the bravest one either. Nobody likes jumpscares.

Steeling my mind, I then walked towards the flickering light, one step at a time. And as I walked closer, I finally saw two goblins walking towards me, as they scouted the area. Though something was different about them…

'There skin is way darker than normal goblins.'

It was barely visible, almost black but on careful observation it was a darker shade of green, much different from the leaf coloured green goblins.

[58 minutes: 22 Seconds]

Not wasting my time, I took out my dagger and ran towards them. With my stealth activated, they shouldn't have been able to see my approach, but perhaps because they were one grade higher than normal goblins, they became cautious and readied their weapons.

Rather than being able to see, it was appropriate to say that they instinctively sensed me.

Still…

-Slash!

-Slash!

[You have killed an E-Grade Monster: Elite Goblin!]

[You have killed an E-Grade Monster: Elite Goblin!]

[The Points will be calculated at the end of the dungeon!]

[+50 GM Points!]

[+50 GM points!]

Seems like the points were going to be accounted for at the end of the dungeon but GM points were still coming in. Well, it's not like I can use the [Shop] in the dungeon, anyway. The white flying goblin won't come no matter how much I call him.

With that being said and done, I moved deeper into the first level, towards the stairs that reached the lower levels. There were a dozen more of those goblins on the way but it was fairly easy to kill them given my stats and skills.

"All right. Let's prepare before moving forward."

Standing in front of the stopped elevator that took me to the lower level, I first looked at my weapon that was on the verge of breaking.

[Sharp Ivory Dagger

Grade: C

Attack: 400

Durability: 23/1000

Effects:

-Increases Strength by 5

-Piercing effect increased by 5%]

[Would you like to restore the durability of the dagger for 500 GM points?]

Since this dagger has helped me for the most time, I decided to invest in it for now. Given how all the monsters down there are going to be E-Grade, and the boss monster would be D-Grade, I believed that reclaiming these points wouldn't be that hard.

And with that in mind, I decided to check something…

[Sharp Ivory Dagger

Grade: C

Attack: 400

Durability: 1000/1000

Effects:

-Increases Strength by 5

-For every monster killed, the piercing effect increases by 1% (Max 50%)]

[Would you like to make the following changes for 900 GM points?]

Clicking yes, I then pondered over something before moving to the title section of my system. It was a good title that gave me Agility with each goblin killed, but now I needed it to be even better since I was going to face a D-Ranked Goblin.

[Title: Goblin Hunter!

Grade: F

Effects:

-For each E-Ranked Goblin killed, the user gets +1 Agility for 20 seconds!]

And making the necessary changes,

[Title: Goblin Hunter!

Grade: E

Effects:

-Increase the user's Agility and strength by 5 when fighting against a D-Grade goblin or higher!

-Increase the user's base stats by 50% when fighting against a group of goblins (More than 5)! ]

[Would you like to make the changes for 3,500GM points?]

I looked at the remaining GM points, and saw that I still have over 10,000 GM points. I still wanted to save the GM points for the [Gift] but given the situation, I decided to give the current situation a priority.

'If need be, I can just sell this title later on to get half the GM points,' I decided, somewhat hoping to find more goblins down there just so that I can refill all the GM points I used.

[GM Points: 6851]

I sighed before stepping down the stairs, as the view of about a dozen goblins came in front of me. They seemed to be partying as they danced weirdly and were running in circles around. Though the sick stench of blood and alcohol made me feel like vomiting.

As I reached further down, I saw some of the goblins looking towards my direction with vigilance, while others were still unaware of my existence. Though the two targets that I was looking forward to seeing, still weren't present there.

20… 30?

I smiled looking at the number of goblins and smiled.

'It should cover half the cost of GM points, and added with the boss monster, I suppose I should be able to get back into the five digits,' the smile widened as I prepared to dash towards them and…

-Whoosh!

-Slash!

[You have killed an E-Grade Monster: Elite Goblin!]

[Points will be calculated at the end of the dungeon run!]

[+50 GM Points!]

I reached the first, and then the second… and before they could even realise what happened. All the goblins fell on the floor, leaving an eerie silence behind.

As I killed all of them, I wondered what should I do next. But the voice of more goblins appearing from the subway, made me turn towards the platform tunnel. A smile form on my face as I walked towards them, killing them one by one.

5 minutes later, I was still walking inside the tunnel, killing the goblins as I felt exhaustion taking over my body. The goblins were still pouring out of the tunnel, neither too few for me to catch a break, nor too many for me to be overwhelmed.

10 minutes passed, and a tense expression formed on my face. The number of Goblins weren't decreasing at all. I could see that about 30 minutes were left before the dungeon ended, and I needed to find the girl and take her out of here.

Though the problem was that the tunnel seemed to be never ending.

'This is getting exhausting,' I thought as I started increasing my steps, ignoring a few goblins while paving my way deeper into the tunnel. Though as time passed, I reduced the number of goblins that I was killing on my way here.

Pressed on time, I now focused on running inside faster than before. I even ignored all the goblins on the way, hoping I could find that girl before the time ended.

And finally…

[You have entered the boss room!]

A message appeared on the screen as I entered a huge cavern, with hundreds of goblins walking around. Though what caught my attention more than the goblins was something that I had been searching for.

The Boss Monster, a muscular goblin, twice the size of an average one, was sitting on a throne on the other edge of the room. He looked down at me menacingly as he commanded the other goblins to attack me.

The other thing was the girl that I was searching for. Sleeping in a cage that was hanging like a chandelier, at the center of the cavern, I saw her petite figure full of burns and injuries. Looking at the big lock, I wondered if I needed to find the key to that cage first.

'But at least I found my target,' I relaxed my shoulder before looking at the group of goblins on the right side of the throne. 12 goblins who were chanting strange magic, and an opened up red coloured portal, from which more and more goblins were continuously pouring.

'No wonder the goblins were coming endlessly,' I stretched as I then began walking towards the incoming goblin. About 20 minutes were left for the dungeon run to end… It should be doable.
