Chapter 7: [God of Cartography!]
Chapter 7: [God of Cartography!]
[Gift: God of Cartography!
Grade: Beyond Mythical Grade-0
Effect: Allows the user to create any form of map and bring it to reality! The user can bring anything he desires into the world just by imagining it, as long as he has the definite map of it.
Cost: 1.2 Quadrillion GM Points!]
'All right. I think I kind of went overboard with that one,' I pressed my lips a little before I made a few necessary changes.
[Gift: Cartography! (Growth Type)
Grade: Lower Mortal Grade- 10
Experience till next Grade: 0.00%
Effect:
-Allows the user to create mental maps based on what he has observed!
Cost: 25,000 GM Points!]
Despite being the lowest grade, the price was quite heavy. I guess, growth type [Gifts!] aren't that common. But I was still glad that it wasn't too overpriced that I would need to start looking for something else altogether.
"I wonder if there are ways by which I can earn GM points faster," I questioned as I still didn't kill any monsters as such. Maybe I should try doing that in the next tutorial?
With that in mind, I looked at a new [Points] thing that was added to the system. Though…
[Points: 0]
That was all there was. Seems like I would need to wait until that goblin guy tells us about the points. And since we can't do anything about it, this is the only other thing left, huh?
[Game Master's ID: Adrian John Rodriguez/???
Username: Unnamed
Authority Level: 1 (Upgrade Cost: 1000 GM)
Current GM Points: 1720]
'Should I upgrade the Authority Level or wait until the next tutorial?' I questioned at first since it was asking more than 60% of the GM points I have, but since the previous upgrade provided quite the benefits, I decided to upgrade it anyway.
'I mean, what's worse can happen, right?'
[Authority Level 2!]
[The following Privilege has been unlocked!]
[Privilege 5: Allows the GM to view the normal quests of the next Event!]
[Privilege 6: Allows the GM to Add a Sub-Quest in the scenario(Not applicable in the Tutorial)!]
"Well. I guess, these are useful in their own way. But not right now," I sighed as I should have waited a bit longer before upgrading the authority. But since what was done was already done, I guess there is nothing I could do.
I then decided to press [Continue!], but I paused as I wondered about something.
[Would you like to upgrade the skill [Perception!] for 50,000 GM Points?]
'Well. I will keep this function in mind,' I thought before checking one last thing.
[Would you like to sell the skill [Lesser Trap Detection!] for 50 GM Points?]
Since I already had [Perception!], this skill was pretty useless to me.
[ [Lesser Trap Detection!] sold for 50 GM Points!]
And with that done, I then pressed the [Continue!] button as the time began to move again.
"Adrian!" I heard a voice from a distance where Luke and the other classmates were together. The one calling me out was Mark, the guy who was sitting beside me in the class. He and the others seemed rather cheerful as they saw me walking towards them.
Though my eyes were mostly looking at the other survivors. Especially those who seemed a bit stronger than the other ones. They were the ones I needed to look out for now.
"Did you find the person you were looking for?" Luke asked as he observed the surroundings but I slowly shook my head as I pressed my lips before giving a small smile.
His expression turned pitiful as he observed me before patting my head as he tried cheering me up,"don't worry. You saved our lives today, don't ever forget that!"
Since I was mostly lying, I only looked at him with a sad expression before looking up at the flying goblin, who seemed to be observing a few of us here with a narrowed look.
"I don't know much about saving to be honest," I said as I turned around and looked at all the people around. Despite surviving, most of them weren't faring much. It was the same for the people from my class too.
"I was going to delay this but since one of you has already obtained more than a thousand points, I will first explain about points before explaining about the next Level," the goblin spoke, catching our attention once again.
"Points?"
"Who did?"
"Next Level?"
"Mom!"
Different people focused on different things from that information. The air of panic was suffocating but now, a few of the people were getting adapted to it. And a few were enjoying it.
"Points is something you can obtain by killing monsters. Each monster is worth at least 200 Points and they can be used to buy various items, skills and weapons from the [Shop!]. Consider it as a currency of the Tutorial," once again the Goblin spoke the bare minimum before giving us a rather ugly smile.
[10: 00]
"The next tutorial Level will start in 10 minutes. Enjoy the little time, to relax and settle down," he said before turning silent again as the time started.
But then he started flying towards a certain person who started asking him a bunch of questions about the [Shop!] and other things. From the looks of things, he was the one who got over a 1000 points.
-Step! Step! Step!
And like insects to a light, most of the surviving students started running towards the guy, trying to understand more about what was going on. Though, it was pretty obvious. They wanted to leech off the strongest guy in the area, hoping to increase their chance of survival.
Even our class was among the people who ran towards him. With the exception of Mark, Luke, Alice, Teacher, me and three other students, everyone was already flocking over there.
"Aren't you guys going to talk to him as well?" The question was posed by our teacher to us. He looked at us with a tired but warm smile, while Mark answered in a serious tone.
"It's a do or die world, teach. Leeching off others would help us for now, but in the long run we will have nothing be stray roots that those at the top will cut."
His mature answer made us turn at him with a bit of amazement. But that was until he said the next word,
"I want to be the protagonist who will stand at the top without any help from others!"
"Chunnibyou?" Luke chuckled out loudly, making Mark glare at us.
"You are not wrong though," Alice had a serious look on her face.
"See. She agrees with me too," Mark smiled proudly before Alice shattered his pride in a gazillion pieces,
"I only meant the first part."
"So what should we do now?" One of the three people, Julia, a blue haired girl with short hair, spoke as she joined our group. Though she was calm, I could see her hands slightly shaking while her eyes trembled momentarily as she looked at us, or more specifically at Luke.
"We wait until the information about the next level comes up. And then decided what to do from there," Luke said firmly.
And we all nodded before we waited for the time to pass. I could check the shop but without points it was pointless window shopping. Pun intended.
So instead, I decided to check something.
[Would you like to send a [Contract!] to [Luke Desmonde!] for 1,000,000 GM Points?]
My eyes widened as I canceled that. Before looking at Alice once again. She was the one who was contracted, wasn't she? So a God was ready to spend that much on her, huh?
Though on that thought, was it really like that? I mean, I am a Game Master. I wonder how that is different from being a God? I should look into that when the possibility arises.
[00 : 00]
And the countdown ended as time paused again. This time with the time limit of
[60 minutes!]
But unlike last time, the amount of information was arranged in concise form. Probably due to the amount of information.
