The Extra's Survival
Following Fredrick's lead, Parth and the others were now engaging with goblins in close range while the mages were assisting them from the sidelines.
The entire area was filled with goblin corpses. Although their previous attack was successful still there were many goblins that we were able to survive.
From the remnant smoke that was created after the blast of spells, hundreds of goblins surge towards them. It looked they were fighting against an army of goblins.
It was fortunate that there was neither coordination between the goblins nor there seemed to be any presence of high command to guide them in the battle otherwise the chances of Lucas's class survival was quite close to zero.
Fredrick was fighting with all his strength but the situation looked still ugly. There were many goblins.
Lucas decided, he can't waste more time. He charged towards the battlefield and shredded the goblins into pieces with his swords.
As Lucas slashed, blades of wind emerged from his sword and hit the goblin with full force blowing them away.
Though they fought with all thier might, their group started to get overwhelmed by a huge number of goblins.
Most of the inexperienced fighters were just dragging down the experienced ones as they were overwhelmed by the goblins.
As the goblins slowly surrounded and wanted to attack them, a glint light sword appeared and with the strike, the heads of goblins were cut in a straight line.
Boom.
Explosion after an explosion took place and the goblins that were surrounding them were killed easily.
A figure appeared holding a blood-soaked sword. His body was covered in blood from the head to the toe.
He was panting heavily.
As he released his full pressure and attacked slashing his sword, the goblins started to retreat.
With the instructor's appearance, the goblins were killed mercilessly.
With each swing of his sword, he took down six to ten goblins.
In just a matter of minutes, his count already reached a hundred. These low-level goblins were just cannon fodder before him
"Don't let them run. Kill them." The instructor ordered.
The students who had previously been afraid got back thier confidence and seeing thier instructor slaughtering the goblins and standing for them, they charged ahead fearlessly.
"Kehhhhjj."
"Kicxhhhhhh."
Screams of goblins echoed throughout the battlefield as they were slaughtered like a cow and pigs.
The remaining ones fled away seeing thier members being slaughtered.
Lucas looked at them with a complicated gaze. Though they may have fled away now, they will surely come again with more of them.
Pinning the sword on the ground, Lucas sat on the ground leaning on it, he was exhausted.
p??da n?vel "Hush. At least it's over for now." Lucas spoke.
With the presence of an instructor, their chances of survival had already increased by many folds.
If he didn't appear here in time, he was sure that most of them would be killed in this battle.
Lucas looked around to observe the horrifying scene. The entire area had been lingered by corpses emitting a foul odour.
Many bodies of the goblins were deformed beyond recognition.
The blood has stained the entire soil making a small river.
'Just a small war is this horrific than how horrific will be the future wars where the fights will be going on for days.'Lucas sighed.
Lucas felt bitter seeing the bloody scene. Things like this always remind him that he will have to grow faster otherwise one day he will be lying on the ground with his body deformed without even a proper place to bury. His body will be left to be rotten or eaten by the beasts after dying tragically on some battlefield.
Thinking about this made his body shuddered.
After clearing up the battlefield, the instructor gathered everyone.
The students looked at him with red eyes expecting this horrible nightmare to be over.
"I know all of us have been trapped in a dangerous situation. We, instructors, are trying our best to take down as many as we can. Even on my way here, we encountered D rank goblins and engaged with them taking out as much we can." The instructor spoke.
"Because of us fighting the stronger the ones, the minion sneaked on thier way to here. We are in a very dangerous situation but I don't think these monsters will stop. It will be more dangerous as night is approaching. We have to take shelter tonight somewhere." He said and asked us to give a detail of things that happened.
Fredrick came forward and narrated all things we have suffered since the time we parted from the instructor.
The instructor massaged his forehead and sighed.
He was fuming with anger from inside. On hearing about the coward who ran away, his blood boiled.
After all, how can a teacher run away leaving behind his students to fend off his enemies by themselves?
If running away was not a problem that bastard set an example and following his suit many students also fled away into the wilderness.
2-Star going into the wilderness by themselves is asking yourself to be killed. He doesn't know, how many of them will be able to survive.
"Okay, now let's hurry. The village chief mansion should be big enough for you all to take refuge today. All of you leave now." The instructor spoke and also gave a black disc-like device to Fredrick, similar to ones they have that show red small dots projection, they used previously to found the students and explained it to them.
"Sir, are you not coming with us?" Fredrick asked curiously.
"I can't for the time being. We are already handling the stronger on the outside. If we all gathered inside a spot, much higher level goblins may come for us. Moreover, with my 5-Star rank, it will be easy for them to detect us. We will be fighting the stronger ones outside and will try to eliminate the goblin's chief as soon as possible but still, you may have to face the small remaining ones."
"Tomorrow in the early morning, leave from the south of the village and follow the river which flows through the Fortress of Aler. Don't follow the road on the map, the goblins may set up the trap there otherwise how can there be no information of the goblins forming a huge tribe outside." He simply turned around after conveying his words.
The students looked at his back. They knew the instructors were taking huge risks fighting for them and staying with them, they will just drag them down.
Though they wanted to plead with the instructor to stay with them they knew that it was impossible. If all of them stay with them and many strong goblins gather at the place, they will be in trouble.
.............
Ten minutes later, the group of students forming a group led by Fredrick, Lucas, Rose and Parth arrived in front of the village chief mansion.
The mansion was enough for a hundred students to shelter. There was no damage nor there were goblins in the surroundings.
There were traces of a battle on the ground but there was no blood or any lingering corpse.
The village chief must have fled with his followers leaving behind others to get slaughtered.
Fredrick stood before the door pushed the doorknob.
"As expected it is locked," Fredrick spoke as he pushed the entrance.
"Let's just break it," Parth spoke casually.
"Are you an idiot?" Lucas snorted.
"Huh! Why?" Parth asked.
Lucas's face palmed and explained."If we break the door, aren't we comprising our defence? In case of attack, will it not be easy for the goblins to break inside and then we will be in a disadvantageous situation."
"Parth climb up and break through the window and open the door from inside," Lucas ordered Parth.
Parth sneered at Lucas but followed his advice.

Parth entered the mansion and opened the door.
Frederick and Lucas followed by Parth separated from everyone and walked around the premises, making sure that there was no hidden danger of any kind inside.
The mansion of the village chief was huge and spacious. There were many rooms inside it, although it looked normal from the outside, from the inside it was not far different from the big noble houses.
Lucas opened the metal door of the kitchen and went inside to look for anything useful.
The meat stored there was rotten, there was no fridge nor any modern equipment, it was just a simple spacious kitchen without much fancy.
He sighed.
Out of the whole class, only 14 of them had storage rings. All the food and thier resources were in their backpacks and additionally, things were carried by the instructors in their storage ring of huge space.
Before coming to this place, Lucas had stored stock of six months of food.
After checking out everything, everyone gathered in the hallway and he asked everyone to take out the goods they have in the storage rings and shared them with each other.
It was decided that five will guard the surroundings and the shift will be rotated each hour.
"The mansion is almost empty except some useless things, everything had been taken," Fredrick spoke.
Fredrick was annoyed by the chief of the village after all it had to be his carelessness that they were trapped here.
"At least we have a place to hide for today," Lucas spoke as he looked around the hallway.
"By the way, have you checked? Are there another pathway to exit from the mansion?" Lucas asked.
Fredrick nodded and spoke, "Yes, there is one at the back."
