“Miss, we haven’t learned this poem yet,” said Xiao Ying.
Liu Meifeng said sternly, “We haven’t learned it yet, but you could have reviewed it ahead of time on your own. Look at you, you don’t have the attitude of a student at all!”
She looked at Xiao Ying complacently and smirked, “If you can’t recite it, then stand. A student who comes to school and doesn’t learn is called an irresponsible student.”
These words were a little too serious for a ten-year-old child.
All the students in the classroom laughed and mocked Xiao Ying.
Xiao Ying’s eyes turned cold as words flowed out of her mouth.
“Jingkou’s a ferry away from Guazhou,
Zhongshan, just a few hills and knolls.
Spring has greened the Southern Shore again, O!
When will the moon shine on my country road?”
After reciting it, she looked at Liu Meifeng’s ugly expression and said, “Miss, can I sit down now?”
Without waiting for Liu Meifeng to respond, Xiao Ying sat down anyway.
Liu Meifeng stared at Xiao Ying sullenly. Just as she was about to give Xiao Ying more trouble, she heard a voice at the door.
“Ms. Liu, this student will be in your class from now on. She is the daughter of the Xiao family. You must take good care of her.”
The principal brought Xiao Ruoxuan to the classroom door and instructed.
As soon as Liu Meifeng heard the Xiao family mentioned, she revealed a smile and nodded at the principal.
Xiao Ruoxuan smiled sweetly and said obediently, “Hello, Ms. Liu.”
Liu Meifeng smiled in acknowledgment before pulling Xiao Ruoxuan to the podium.
“A new classmate has come to our class today. Everyone, please make sure to help her out.”
Xiao Ruoxuan stood on the podium and looked down at Xiao Ying with a smug expression.
She then turned to look at the other students and introduced herself naturally amidst their curiosity. “Hello, everyone. My name is Xiao Ruoxuan. I hope I can get along with you in the future.”
The classmates were all very polite. A chubby boy said, “Hey, she and Xiao Ying have the same last name.”
Xiao Ruoxuan looked straight at Xiao Ying with a gaze filled with malice.
Liu Meifeng immediately said, “Both of their surnames are Xiao, but their personal characters are worlds apart.”
Xiao Ying silently endured Liu Meifeng’s mockery as she looked at Xiao Ruoxuan in the crowd with a faraway gaze.
In her previous lifetime, it was never revealed in the school that she was the daughter of the Xiao family.
The reason Madam Xiao had given her then was that she didn’t want her to develop bad habits in school.
But when it came to Xiao Ruoxuan, they were certainly quick to publicize it. Xiao Ying smiled mockingly.
Xiao Ruoxuan frowned. She could not understand Xiao Ying’s gaze, but she still felt uncomfortable.
Xiao Ruoxuan suddenly said, “Xiao Ying is my older sister.”
When she said this, the students in the class were all stunned. Liu Meifeng’s expression was also a little off.
Xiao Ruoxuan continued, “But she was mistakenly exchanged at birth. In addition, she made some mistakes recently, so Daddy and Mommy chased her out of the Xiao family.”
Xiao Ruoxuan sounded very regretful when she said those words. She looked at Xiao Ying and added, “Sister, if you apologize to Mom and Dad, they’ll definitely forgive you.”
The students were all discussing animatedly. They were still young and only knew that it must’ve taken a serious mistake to have been kicked out of the house.
Liu Meifeng’s expression relaxed as she looked at Xiao Ying with disdain and said, “Some students just look like they aren’t decent people. When they’re in school, they don’t study properly and at home, they’re disobeying their parents. In the future, when they become part of society, they’ll still be scum.”
Xiao Ying looked at Liu Meifeng with an ice-cold stare.
Although it was faint, it still made Liu Meifeng’s heart tremble.
Liu Meifeng said uncomfortably, “What are you looking at? I wasn’t talking about you. If you have a guilty conscience and thought I was talking about you, that’s not my problem.”
Xiao Ying suddenly snorted lightly and turned her head.
Xiao Ruoxuan was led to the front row and sat in the middle of the class.
The girl who was originally sitting in the middle could only sit in the back. She wore a pair of glasses and stretched her upper body, struggling to see the blackboard.
Liu Meifeng did not even consider if her height and vision were suitable for sitting at the back.
