Chapter 161 - Battles

Chapter 161: Battles

After traveling for a few minutes and a few hundred meters, Pento finally found somebody in the portal.

Since he was still some distance away from it, he couldn't clearly see what race the being belonged to, but he could make out the silhouette. It looked like a four-legged being.

Pento increased his speed and rushed in the direction of the silhouette. When he reached the visible range, he could finally see what race the being belonged to.

It was a group of six goats grazing the grass. They looked nothing more than ordinary, but still Pento cautiously stepped forward and moved in the direction of the goats.

Its size was even less than the ordinary goats in his Kingdom. The ordinary adult goats in his Kingdom came up to his chest, whereas the goats here were only up to his waist.

The group of the goats, unaware of their killer, peacefully grazed the grass, bleating from time to time.

Since Pento had forgotten every fighting technique he had learned, he used his hands and legs the old-fashioned way when he reached one of the goats.

They seemed unaware of Pento's presence until he pounced on one in the group.

He grabbed the leg of one of the goats and ran in the direction he had come from.

The goats, seeing one of their partners getting dragged, they started bleating and running instead of saving their partner.

Pento heaved a sigh of relief, seeing no goat chasing him. After getting a safe distance away from them, he let go of the leg of the goat.

Right away, the goat began to run, but a kick came its way and it was thrown.

After the kick, the goat's eyes turned red from rage. Instead of escaping after standing up, the goat rushed in the direction of Pento.

The sudden turn of events stunned Pento for a moment, but the next moment he regained his calm as the goat was coming closer to him with both its horns, threatening to create a giant hole in his stomach.

Pento currently had two choices. He could either move away and let the goat try to hit him again, and in turn, he would get a chance to take advantage of the situation, or he could instead of moving away and grab the horns of the goat and fight a full-frontal battle with it.

He chose the first option, but suddenly a voice came from his heart, "What fun would it be to move away and let the goat give you a chance to win? The fun of real battle would only happen if I grabbed the horn of the goat."

Unaware of the situation, Pento's eyes turned red, the same color as the goat's eyes.

A cruel smirk appeared on his face as he tried to control the goat using its horn when it reached him.

In an attempt to force Pento away, one of the goat's horns slightly touched his lower waist.

His jacket was ripped by that slight touch, leaving him with a deep wound in the waist.

Instead of feeling pain, the cruel smirk turned eerier, and Pento slammed the goat's head into the ground using all his force.

The slam didn't create any wound on the goat's head, but it still gave a second window, which Pento could use for attacking.

Pento picked up the head of the goat and slammed into the ground again.

"Maaaaa...."

The goat cried in pain. Pento ignored the cry and repeated the same process. He only stopped when the cries stopped, and it lost its life.

The next moment, Pento's eyes returned to normal, and an expression of confusion appeared in them. Before he could think of something else, a green ray of light escaped the goat's body and entered his.

Next, he felt an energy rush into his body that was strange and familiar at the same time. Before he could even enjoy the feeling, it disappeared.

Pento couldn't help but curse in frustration, but his mouth came to a sudden halt as the next moment, a sudden pain emerged from his lower body.

He looked down in confusion and found a deep wound on his waist. The blood had stopped leaking, but the pain didn't.

He then felt something in his right hand and found one of the horns of the dead goat in his hand.

"What happened here?" He cried in confusion.

The next moment, his entire body turned wet with sweat as he remembered a sudden voice had come from his heart, and after that, he couldn't remember anything.

"It must be the eyes of the goat," Pento whispered to himself after thinking for a while.

He remembered he had decided to move away instead of directly facing the goat. He was confident that it was the ability of the goat to make the being lose himself in rage. Otherwise, it would've been too easy for any regular being to kill them.

He couldn't help but draw a breath of cold air after coming to this conclusion.

Just thinking about if the goat was a little more stronger sent chills down his spine.

"What has happened has happened! Let's focus on the present!" He murmured after taking several deep breaths to calm his pounding heart.

He took a look at his wound and decided not to engage any goat until the wound heals.

Since the goat didn't initiate the fight until attacked, Pento didn't need to worry about his safety in the area.

Now, he only needed to worry about the food. He could either eat the raw flesh of the goat or he could graze grass like the goats.

"Grass is better than raw meat," Pento murmured as he couldn't help but feel disgusted whenever he thought about eating the raw meat.

"Spit!"

The next moment, Pento spit the grass as it tasted bitter. If he took one more bite, he would vomit, so he stopped trying to eat it.

His eyes then fell on the corpse of the goat and the pieces of its smashed head lying around it.

He picked one of the pieces from the ground and put it in his mouth.

"Eh!" The next moment, he exclaimed in surprise as he found the taste, the same as the cooked meat.

It didn't take him long to finish all the pieces lying on the ground.. He also noticed a tiny positive change in his wound due to the flesh of the goat.
