Chapter 206: The War(1)
"How can they do this?" One of the mothers in Bristol cried out after the announcement. Her child was only ten years old, and according to the announcement, anyone who could fight even a little bit needed to join the war.
"Why're you crying, mum?" The child asked while trying to wipe his mother's tears. He was only a child, so he had no idea what was going to happen.
There were scenes like this in the majority of the houses after the announcement. Since they had no choice but to follow the order, they started preparing while cursing the Townhead.
The Townhead house,
"Is the intel correct?" A man seated in a chair asked. His voice had a slight tremble as the information he heard a moment earlier could be the doom of the town.
"Ye...yes, Townhead," The intelligence officer replied, while his back was cold.
In a span of a day, there had been two intelligence failures in the town. First, the family of Townhead got gruesomely murdered, and second, the current piece of information he just got.
"Why would they involve themselves in the fight?" Townhead asked with a frown on his face.
The past day had already been way hard on him, and now that he had announced a war, he got the information that ten other villages of beastmen were providing help to Roszke.
"I… do-don't know..." The intelligence officer replied with a stutter.
"Crash!"
"WHAT KIND OF AN INTELLIGENCE OFFICER ARE YOU?" The Townhead threw the table placed in front of him and angrily shouted at the man standing in front of him.
"Sorry tow-"
"GET OUT!" The Townhead felt like he would kill the intelligence officer, so he angrily shouted at him to leave the room.
"DAMN IT!" After the intelligence officer left, the Townhead cursed in anger and slapped the hand of the chair.
Unaware of what was happening inside Bristol due to his decision, Aakesh had finally reached the battleground.
Clang!
Clang!
Clang!
The continuous sounds of clashes rang inside the battleground. The area around the battlefield had gotten dyed red due to the blood from both parties.
The Townhead of Roszke was a Lionman, but there were beastmen belonging to different species inside the town, so there were different kinds of beastmen fighting against the humans.
Some beastmen were stronger than humans in one-on-one combat, while some were weaker, so both sides had already faced a huge number of losses.
The ten candidates Aakesh had chosen still hadn't entered the battlefield. He had two choices now. Either he could wait for his picks to join the war and then join it, or he could join the war even before they arrive.
Since Aakesh's goal was to end it in a few hours, he chose the second option and jumped into the battlefield.
Since it was a quest, Aakesh didn't get any privilege the adventurers had, and he was also currently a human. So right after he jumped, a Boarman who had just killed one human soldier rushed at him.
The Boarman had a human face, but he had the tusks the boar had, and in place of hands and legs, he had hooves.
With a roar, the Boarman rushed at Aakesh. In response, Aakesh's face turned cold.
Since he had the same power as an ordinary mortal, he could only use the weakest points of the beastmen to defeat them quickly. Otherwise, even if he had unlimited stamina, it would take a long time for him to finish the war.
Seeing Aakesh not moving, the Boarman thought that he had gotten frozen due to fear. His roar got louder as he charged with his tusk when he was only two meters away from Aakesh.
Since the beastmen had humanoid structures, they had the same weakness as humans. Their vitals were stronger when compared with the human of the same level, but the weakness was the same.
When the boar's tusk was only one inch away from ripping his stomach apart, he turned to his right and kneed the head of the Boarman.
Before the Boarman could think of his next move, Aakesh grabbed the tusk and kicked again.
The Boarman screamed in pain while his mouth had gotten out of shape due to the knee strike and the kick.
Aakesh didn't let go of the boar and kicked him again. With this attack, the Boarman lost his consciousness. Aakesh threw the Boarman and took a step forward.
He needed to find a weapon, as the Boarman was on the stronger side of the beastmen, but three kicks were still very long. The Boarman didn't even die. He only lost consciousness.
"Give me your weapon," He found a human soldier fighting a wolfman using his sword, so Aakesh reached it and kicked the gut of the wolfman. He then asked the soldier for the sword, making her dumbfounded.
"Get out of here," The soldier angrily yelled at Aakesh as she thought he had gotten insane due to the battle.
Aakesh, instead of leaving, reached out and hit the back of her head. The soldier lost her consciousness right away and crashed on the ground with a thud. Before the sword could fall on the ground with her, he picked it up.
If someone were to see his actions, they would consider Aakesh an idiot because where Aakesh was standing, several swords of dead soldiers were lying on the ground. Aakesh knew that, but he wasn't going to pick a weapon of a dead soldier as it would be demeaning to him.
His eyes then fell upon the wolfman he had kicked a moment earlier. The wolfman growled at Aakesh for interfering in his fight with the lady soldier while moving backward.
The wolfmen, like the wolves, always chose opponents weaker than them in the enemy group first, so the wolfman had chosen the lady soldier. But with Aakesh's interference, his opponent changed from someone weaker than him to someone stronger than him.
Aakesh's face was cold. He had no time to waste, so he took a step forward and reached in front of the wolfman.
Swing!
With a swing of his sword, the head of the wolfman flew while the headless corpse crashed on the ground.
He didn't stop and rushed forward to kill more beastmen, unaware that several times larger army of beastmen were on their way to the battlefield.
