Chapter 242 - Killing(1)

Chapter 242: Killing(1)

"Hey, system, If I were not to take the quest, would the town has gotten destroyed six days later?" Aakesh asked the system as he was rushing to the location shown on the virtual map in front of him. Mark was ahead of him.

Aakesh asked the question because he was curious to know whether the timer activated after he accepted the quest or if it was always going to be like this.

[Host, the world of Panagea has the same rules as the Multiverse. So even if you didn't take the quest, the town would've gotten attacked by the Netherstorm guild, and the Townhead would have been left to fight it with the help of his guards and other strongmen in Wolfden.]

The system responded in its emotionless and mechanical voice.

"Then, why didn't the Townhead suggest me the quest in the first place?" Aakesh asked as he didn't see any kind of rush on Mark's face even though there were only six days left before the attack.

[Host, the inhabitants of Panagea have their own free will. Unless there are important quests related to the adventurers, the system wouldn't override their wills.]

Aakesh didn't ask anything after that and fell silent.

It took him twenty minutes to reach the destination, even at his maximum speed, since he had to cover a distance of thirty yojanas.

They didn't directly rush at the camp and stopped a few miles before the location so that the Level 50 leader couldn't sense their arrival right away.

"Do you have any plans?" Mark turned around and asked Aakesh.

"No! You don't need plans to defeat those who are weaker than you," Aakesh expressionlessly responded.

Mark couldn't help but turn dumbfounded after hearing Aakesh. "How arrogant!" He thought in his head but didn't dare utter it aloud. Mark believed that if Aakesh did not fear fighting against a group with Level 50 as the leader, then he must not be afraid of him either.

Aakesh had no idea what Mark was thinking. Even if he did, he wouldn't have cared.

"You take the fight with the leader. I will handle others," Aakesh added with a hint of command in his voice.

Mark couldn't help but take a glance at Aakesh, seeing the sudden change in his tone.

Aakesh didn't care what Mark was thinking and activated the skill Universal-Eye. The next moment, a virtual projection of 8 yojanas of land around him appeared in front of him.

Mark couldn't see the projection, so he didn't know what was going on.

In the real-time 3D projection, Aakesh found the positions of all twenty guild members of the Netherstorm guild.

While looking at the real-time projection of the guild members, Aakesh suddenly had an idea. He activated the skill, Fortune-Eye, and the next moment, one yojana of land in the projection around him turned golden.

Fortunately for him, the camp of the Netherstorm guild was less than the distance of one yojana, so the skill, Fortune-Eye, covered all twenty members.

A glint passed through his eyes when he had seen the fate lines of the guild members who didn't exceed his level by more than ten levels.

The number of black lines surpassed the sum of golden and red lines for all of them. Aakesh then stopped the skill right away, as each second of use took 100 units of his energy.

Aakesh then looked at Mark and told him the position of the members. Even though he couldn't watch over the beings who exceeded his level by more than ten levels, the real-time 3D projection showed the location of everyone. Those who exceeded the benchmark were greyed out, so Aakesh found their location as well.

Mark looked at Aakesh in surprise since he found the location of a Level 50 without him sensing it. Before he could say anything, Aakesh told him to move and left.

Mark had no choice but to follow him.

Just when Mark and Aakesh reached a distance of 500 meters from the camp, the Level 50 leader opened his eyes in the camp.

"Damn it!" He cursed as he sensed two people breaking past the sense barrier he had put. One of the two intruders even gave him a sense of threat.

As for knowing how they found out about it, he didn't care since it was the will of Panagea that must've created the quest for the Townhead to get ready to face the invasion. He just didn't expect the Townhead to intrude on his camp rather than making efforts for protection when they attacked the town.

"THERE ARE INTRUDERS! GET READY TO DEFEND AND ATTACK!"

A shout rang inside the camp while the leader had already rushed toward the intruders.

Hearing the shout, the guild members stopped whatever they were doing. They grabbed their weapons and rushed out of the tent to fight the intruders.

Since the other guild members didn't know the number of intruders, they couldn't help but get shocked by seeing only two beings coming toward them.

One of the two intruders gave them a sense of pressure, while the other looked as if he was an ordinary person and had no energy. Guild members saw the other as more dangerous than the one who put pressure on them.

Aakesh suddenly felt a sense of danger coming toward him. He turned entirely right. The next moment, he felt chilly air brushing past him.

It was the leader who had attacked. He felt killing the blue-skinned man first was the correct thing to do since even he couldn't sense any energy from the man.

Seeing the man dodging his strike without much effort didn't slow the leader. Instead, his attack turned fiercer, but before it could reach the blue-skinned man, he suddenly disappeared from the spot, and then he began sinking.

In shock, he looked at the ground and saw that it had become a desert, and the sand was trying to sink him.

He wasn't a Level 50 for no reason, suddenly a red light engulfed him, and he stopped sinking. The leader then looked around to see the blue-skinned man, only to find him killing a Level 40 guild member by simply a punch.

The sudden killing brought everyone, including Mark, back to reality.. It had been less than a second since the leader attacked Aakesh, and Aakesh had dodged his attack and also killed a Level 40 by a punch.
