Chapter 362: Gain(1)
One second passed, two seconds passed, finally after three seconds and spending 300 units of his energy, Aakesh found what he was looking for.
To be precise, Aakesh found an unexpected bargain.
The being in question was a few miles away from him. The gender couldn't be specified from the golden projection. Only the fate line could be seen.
Aakesh had never seen a being with more golden fate lines than this one. It crossed almost a thousand as if they were a chosen one.
Similarly, the red lines also crossed hundreds, showing how dangerous the selected would face, but miraculously, there were very few black lines connecting him, which showed that it was unlikely they would face death.
Aakesh then selected the being and deactivated the skill, Fortune-Eye, and then Universal-Eye since every second of its activation consumed 100 units of his energy.
Aakesh then took a step forward and left in the direction of the being.
The selected being was a male human and was only a child aging twelve years old. The boy's name was Ethan. He was only a Level 3.
Ethan was currently standing in front of a stall on the street with his parents. His father worked in the army of the Swiftport, so they were a well-to-do family.
The father has come to this part of the city for an assignment. Today was his only son's birthday, and since he couldn't get leave to meet his son, he called his wife and son over for today to celebrate the twelfth birthday of his son.
Ethan and his parents were standing in front of a stall as Ethan found something he liked.
It was a gold-plated bracelet with a giant red rock embedded in the center.
"How much for it?" The father asked the stall owner. It was his son's birthday, and he didn't want to say no to his son for today.
"Your son's eyes are a treasure. You found a good thing. This bracelet isn't any ordinary bracelet. This rock is rumored to be the key to the ruins of a Mythical being…," The stall owner's eyes shined, seeing rich customers. He then began exaggerating stories about the bracelet to increase its price, seeing the boy not being able to take his eyes off of it.
The father would've told the stall owner to shut up, if not for his son getting more and more excited, learning about the bracelet.
Similarly, the stall owner thought that the family had believed in his stories, and in response, he exaggerated even more. But he stopped in time, as too much exaggeration ruins the momentum.
"Now, tell me, how much is it for the bracelet?" After the stall owner stopped his exaggeration, the father asked. He also gently rubbed the head of his son.
"If not for the boy, I would've sold it for sixty thousand low soul stones, but since I can't earn profit from the boy, you can take it for fifty-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine low soul stones," The stall owner responded with a combination of pained and generous expression on his face.
Ethan's father and mother's lips twitched, seeing the expression the stall owner had made after reducing the price by one low soul stone. Ethan felt a strange attraction to the bracelet, so he didn't care what was going on around him, and his complete focus was on the bracelet.
"No, the price is too high," Ethan's mother chimed in, seeing her husband almost accepting the atrocious price. "Sell it to us for thirty thousand low soul stones," She stated her price.
'Hmph, do you think I'm stupid?' The stall owner thought in his heart. How could he sell it for so little, seeing how much the boy wanted it. It was time for him to earn profits.
"You can leave the stall," The stall owner responded and gestured to the family to leave.
The mother, who had thought that the stall owner would offer a lower price, couldn't help but get stumped by the response of the stall owner.
"Fine," Ethan's father intervened, seeing the stumped expression on his wife's face. He took out a card from his pocket.
Similarly, the stall owner also took out a card.
Ethan's father tapped his card on the stall owner's card six times.
The next moment, the number on the stall owner's card changed. He could see an addition of sixty thousand low soul stones on his card.
"Here, take it. I won't profit from a boy," The stall owner took out one low soul stone from his pouch and handed it to the father.
A vein appeared on the father's head, seeing the actions of the stall owner, but the father still took the stone from him.
The stall owner then handed the bracelet to the boy.
Ethan excitedly took the bracelet from the hands of the stall owner. He then thanked his parents for buying it for him and right away wore it.
Suddenly a cracking sound rang in the area, as the space around the boy began cracking, and in no time, it took the shape of a portal.
Before anyone could understand what had happened, the portal sucked the boy in and disappeared.
Ethan's parents and other people on the road only a few seconds later understood what had happened.
"Was my story real?" The stall owner shouted in shock, seeing only the boy getting sucked in the portal.
The next moment, the look of shock on his face turned into a disappointment. He had the bracelet on his hands for the past few weeks. He even wore it for a day, but nothing of such sort happened.
His eyes then fell on the parents of the boy as he wanted to gain what he had lost. The jealousy for the boy overrode his sanity at that moment.
"Pay-"
The stall owner had only opened his mouth and uttered a word, but he came to a halt, as the next moment, a glare came at him.
Ethan's father was a Level 148; he charged at the stall owner in anger. He picked him up in the air by grabbing his neck.
"Where is my son?" He angrily asked the stall owner.
"I…I d…d…don't know," The stall owner responded while trembling in fear due to the pressure released by the father.

While all this happened, Aakesh expressionlessly looked at everything.
