Chapter 517

Chapter 517: The Countdown(13)

As Carlos grabbed the 2nd Gradient Peach, a battle began between his emotions and logic.

His heart forced him to eat the 2nd Gradient Peach even though Carlos had no idea of what it was, while his intuition forced him to go against his heart and not eat it, as it would be nothing less than suicide.

Carlos thought as if it would only be a simple battle between his temptations and control, and he would be able to succeed this time, and in the end, he would not eat the fruit. Carlos couldn’t be any more wrong.

Carlos suddenly felt the world around him darkening, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself in an unfamiliar location.

“Where am I?”

“Waawaa!”

Carlos wanted to ask the question, but nothing except a baby cry escaped his mouth.

“Look, we have a son,” An excited female voice rang in the area as a lady with dark red skin and six eyes gently held the newborn in her embrace.

“Mother!”

“Waa!”

Carlos’s eyes became moist as the woman holding him looked similar to his mother, who had passed away thousands of years ago in an unfortunate battle.

A gentle smile spread across the mother’s mouth as she heard the baby cry. She then slowly wiped the teardrop leaving the right eye.

Time flew by.

It has been around twelve years since Carlos suddenly came into this world.

For the past twelve years, he had been searching for ways to leave this world and return to the city and then to the world from where he came.

But as time passed, Carlos started forgetting and mixing the reality. Sometimes he wouldn’t be able to guess whether he belonged to the city or the Primal dimension.

Carlos had loving parents in this world, and similar to his past life, it was a supernatural world.

His father and mother had godly powers. Three days later, Carlos would celebrate his twelfth birthday.

The day was important because this day would decide whether he had the capability to cultivate or not.

Time flew by.

These three days were like an eternity for Carlos since he felt that this day would be the key if he wanted to leave this world.

***

“I am sorry, master. Young master has no ability to cultivate,” A servant informed Carlos and his parents about Carlos’s results.

A drop of blood from one of his eyes was needed to test whether Carlos could cultivate or not, a. After the members examined the blood, they found it to be ordinary.

Hearing the servant’s words, Carlos felt as if someone had snatched the land below his feet. His face turned pale as he crashed down to the ground.

Carlos’ mother slapped the servant in anger, resulting in his head exploding. She then concernedly rushed to her son.

“Wake up, Carlos!”

“Wake up, Carlos!”

“Wake up, Carlos!”

The mother called out to Carlos, who had suddenly fallen unconscious. Even the father, who usually had a cold face, had his face turned pale from worry, seeing his unconscious son.

At first, they believed the examination to be the reason behind this sudden situation, but as days went by, they found out that it was something else.

Time flew by.

It has been thirty years since Carlos opened his eyes to this world. At this point, he had even forgotten about the city and his real world.

Even though he was only thirty years old, he looked no less than a ninety-year-old man.

His skin had dried off, while his six eyes had lost their color and turned blind. Similarly, he couldn’t walk as his body parts below his waist had paralysis.

Carlos would never forget his twelfth birthday since that was the day his tragedies began.

Carlos lost his consciousness when he heard that he couldn’t cultivate. He saw nothing but darkness around him when he regained consciousness since his eyes had lost their eyesight.

Carlos’s parents had godly powers, yet they couldn’t treat Carlos as if there was a terrifying and unsolvable curse on him.

Soon bad luck started attacking his parents and other members of his race, resulting in others raising their voices in favor of killing Carlos. But how could a mother kill her own son, so she killed whoever supported the killing of her son? The cruel actions committed by the mother succeeded in making the members stop, but soon severe tragedies started falling on the race.

Even the higher-ups in the race started raising their voices now. Carlos’s parents couldn’t sit still anymore and kill the people like usual since the majority of their race members had turned in favor of killing Carlos.

So to make everyone stop, the parents moved their son far away, resulting in the tragedies of the clan coming to a stop. Even the parents had stopped seeing Carlos after that day since now they knew that Carlos was a cursed child and wanted nothing to do with him.

But it seemed that the father and mother still had a love for Carlos, so they hired several maidservants and put them in charge of taking care of Carlos.

Time flew by.

It was the thirty-sixth year since Carlos came to this planet.

“So, this is the end,” Carlos muttered as he could see his death coming.

“I hope the next life treats me better,” A teardrop escaped Carlos’s eyes as he further mumbled.

He had seen the difference in the way people had treated him before his twelfth birthday and after that.

He believed that his parents would never let go of him, but even they treated him indifferently after a while as if he was a curse.

“Here, I come,” Carlos attempted to yell, but even if there were a person seated a meter away from him, they wouldn’t hear what Carlos said.

Hoping to have a better life in his next life, if there was one, Carlos closed his eyes, but he suddenly heard a familiar voice that he hadn’t heard for many years.

“Wake up, Carlos. Your mother is here,” Carlos’s mother, who hadn’t seen Carlos for the last decade, cried out.

“Wake up, son! We found the cure for you. You will never have to live alone again,” His father’s voice rang the next moment. The voice contained an unbridled amount of joy.

“Mo…mother,” Carlos opened his eyes and called out to his mother.

Carlos then glanced at his father, who was looking at him with an excited expression on his face. His eyes then fell on the father’s hands. He found an unknown-shaped black material there.

“Here, eat it. You will never have to face this torture again,” The father excitedly commented as he pushed the strange material in his hands to Carlos.

Carlos was just going to chew it when he suddenly froze.

‘NO! YOU CAN’T EAT THAT!’ A scream rang inside Carlos’s heart not long after.

“ARGH!” Carlos spat the strange material. He then tightly clenched his head and screamed in pain as if his body had gotten the energy back.

The duo of Carlos’s parents was taken aback by the sudden extreme reaction shown by Carlos.

Time flew by.

“Mother, Father loves you. He hasn’t married anyone after your death,” Carlos told his mother, surprising both of them.

The mother and father looked at each other in surprise. When they turned back and looked at Carlos, they got the shock of their life as Carlos had lost his breath, while there was a peaceful smile spread across his face.

***

When Carlos opened his eyes, he found himself back in the city. The 2nd Gradient Peach was still in his hands, but the temptation to eat it was gone.

Before Carlos could understand what had happened, the 2nd Gradient Peach in his hands started shining out of nowhere.

Carlos had no idea what was happening, but he knew one thing he couldn’t let go of it no matter what.

The light released by the 2nd Gradient Peach got bigger and bigger as it engulfed the entirety of Carlos. It then started receding, with only covering his head.

The light then started solidifying. Not long after, an opaque white skin had covered Carlos’s head.

The process hadn’t ended yet as the black skin started melting into his skin.

A few seconds later, the black skin disappeared, and Carlos same as previously presented itself.

***

“The time has come,” Aakesh excitedly muttered as Lily was going to wake up any moment.
