Chapter 707: A New Day with New Customers(14)

After that conversation with his sister, William’s relationship with his sisters stagnated. He stopped playing with them. Instead of having lengthy exchanges, he only nodded toward them.

His eldest sister nevertheless maintained a good relationship with William since she and William would be responsible for the Asquith family after their father retired from the chair and gave it to William.

With his youngest sister, William stopped even looking at her. The interaction between them was similar to the interaction between the stranger.

(A/N: Youngest here means youngest of the five sisters.)

Just like that, it was the blink of an eye, and two years had passed.

William’s twelfth birthday arrived, and as usual, the Asquith family celebrated it with a bang. All five of his sisters gifted him presents.

As William took the present from his youngest sister, the promise she had asked for rang in William’s head.

William’s face turned ugly as he took his hands back at the shock of other family members. He then left the party and ran.

Andrew and Victoria were already having the worst time in their relationship, so when Victoria wanted to follow William, Andrew stopped her and instead told Elle, the youngest sister, to go behind her brother and solve whatever was brewing between them.

Elle already knew the reason behind it, so she didn’t want to follow behind her brother, but her father didn’t give her an option to refuse. So she had no choice but to follow behind William.

“I only asked one promise from you, and you have already begun hating me,” Elle scoffed as she found William staring at the sky from the window in his chambers.

William ignored the ridicule in Elle’s voice as he continued staring at the sky.

“Did I ask for too much when I only wanted a promise that you wouldn’t stop me from cultivating after getting pregnant?” Elle asked. Her tone was higher than before. If not for the sound barrier covering William’s chamber, many would have heard her question.

Giving birth to a child resulted in the leaking of energy from the body. For top races, giving birth was no less than facing a tribulation, as the more talented the child, the more energy they demanded from their mother. Victoria regressed by one whole level after giving birth to William, which wasn’t a hidden fact from the five sisters or William.

“Answer me?” Elle’s tone turned even louder as she grabbed William’s shoulder and forcefully made him look at her.

William’s eyes were red and moist when Elle looked at them, causing a gasp in the air. At that moment, Elle grew flustered as she didn’t know what to do.

It wasn’t incorrect to refer to William as a genius once seen in billions of years, not only in the Sacred dimension but also in the Multiverse. But at the same time, he was only a child who was only twelve years this year. He was born with intellect, but it took time for people to learn about emotions.

Elle finally knew that she was wrong in her actions as she was treating William like an adult when he was only a child. She asked for something that wasn’t possible for the current William to understand.

At the same time, she also cursed herself as some part of her heart knew that William was only a child, but she still wanted the promise since it was easier for the current William to promise her.

“I am sorry,” William apologized to his sister as he had no answer to her promise.

How could he promise Elle anything without knowing the consequences of his actions? Andrew hated his mother, Victoria, but if that hatred had persisted in one such promise or vow, he would have never been born, and the Asquith family would still be void of an heir.

“You don’t need to apologize. It was I, who wanted to take benefit of your age,” Elle replied as she hugged her younger brother.

Elle was currently around twenty-eight thousand years of age, so she clearly knew what the promise entailed for the future.

Elle felt disgusted in her heart whenever she thought about marrying her brother, who was tens of thousands of years younger than her. It was one of the reasons behind her not having the stomach to sleep with William.

“Let’s stop thinking about it,” Elle tried to coax William.

“You don’t need to promise me anything. I would go by the rules set by Ancestor. It was set by destiny that I took birth in this glorious family,” Elle added. There was a hint of helplessness in it, but William was busy still thinking about the promise to focus on that.

Elle and Wiliam then spoke for several hours. They talked about every topic they had missed in the last two years.

After William finally returned to normal, Elle left his chambers.

When Elle stood at the door, her face turned sad as she could see that things had moved too ahead with this conversation. There was no way she could return back and ask William for the same promise.

She knew William was sympathetic to her ordeal, but at the same time, his pride in the Asquith family and their Ancestor was second to none. William was too stubborn to promise even if he grew old enough and understood everything. William would either throw the family away or go with the rules as they were. There was no way he would take a moderate position.

***

Elle wasn’t wrong in her conjecture about William’s position. It wasn’t unusual for him to make decisions on the spur of the moment as a child.

The smile he was carrying when talking to Elle disappeared after she left. Instead, a determined expression took its place.

As Elle had thought, there was no moderate position for her only brother. Even though four of the five sisters had no problem with marrying William and bearing children for him, he focused more on Elle. He had sensed determination to achieve the unthinkable in her voice.

Since it was the family rules that bound him to marry Elle and have relations with her, coming in the way of Elle’s dream, William decided to throw the family away.

Since William wasn’t the head of the family yet, no rules applied to him. His father was Immortal, so there was no problem for the family to exist for eternity. If he left and his father had no other son, it would only mean that Andrew wouldn’t be able to ascend to the third dimension.

Since William reached the decision on the spur of the moment, the action also didn’t take long. William, using his contacts as the prince, got himself a traveling talisman using lies. He then traveled to the Primal dimension since hiding in the Sacred dimension wasn’t possible for him with all the power the Asquith family carried.
