Chapter 124: Ye Sui’s Image Collapsed (1)
Ye Sui had been in a bad mood since the dream that day.
Although she deliberately showed a cheerful side in front of Chen Shu, he was always sensitive. He could detect the emotions of others, especially Ye Sui.
As a result, Chen Shu was distracted in the office, thinking about how to make Ye Sui happy. He finally came up with a way.
Chen Shu had already sent flowers to Ye Sui before. He now planned to give Ye Sui a fresh gift.
Weekend.
Ye Sui happened to be at home and was lying on a sofa corner. She was pressing the remote control in boredom, flashing through changing channels.
Compared to Ye Sui’s laziness, Chen Shu seemed a little restless. His gaze would float to the door from time to time, as if waiting for something.
Although Chen Shu’s emotions were well hidden, as someone who knew him the best, how could she not notice his anxiety?
Ye Sui put the remote control on the table and leaned to Chen Shu’s side. She squinted and scanned his face up and down. However, she did not speak.
Chen Shu was startled. “What’s wrong?”
Ye Sui stretched out her finger and poked his face gently. She said with a firm tone, “Chen Shu, you are hiding something from me.”
Chen Shu didn’t want the surprise to be destroyed, so he could only deny her accusations. “I... am not.”
Ye Sui looked at Chen Shu’s dodgy eyes and pinched his ears with a smile. She deliberately got closer to his ears, even gently exhaling on them. She lowered her voice mischievously.
“Hubby, why are your ears all red?”
Ye Sui could feel the burning temperature under her hands. Chen Shu’s ears grew red because of his lies. He was caught by Ye Sui.
Chen Shu’s reaction was too interesting to watch; Ye Sui was addicted to teasing him. She simply hooked Chen Shu’s neck. “Hubby, what’s wrong with you?”
Chen Shu tilted his head slightly, trying to avoid Ye Sui’s sight. But she didn’t allow it. She directly dropped her whole body on Chen Shu.
“Chen Shu, I won’t get up unless you tell me.”
Chen Shu couldn’t help his laugh. He grabbed Ye Sui’s moving wrist. He knew he couldn’t hide it from her, so he said helplessly, “I’ll explain it to you later.”
As soon as his voice fell, the doorbell rang. Chen Shu’s eyes lit up. “Okay, it’s here.”
She stayed in the room as Chen Shu went to open the door. After a while, his voice came from the courtyard. “Come out.”
Ye Sui didn’t know what Chen Shu was trying to pull, so she curiously walked out of the room. She found that there were many flowerpots in one corner of the yard.
She got near, knelt down, and looked at the various flowers. “What is this?”
Chen Shu pointed to the flowers. “I bought them for you. You can plant them in the yard by yourself.”
Ye Sui smiled. Only Chen Shu could think of sending such flowers. Other people would usually give ready-made bouquets.
She understood that Chen Shu wanted to make her happy. She should indeed forget the dream of the previous few days.
“How will I plant them alone? Let’s do it together.” Ye Sui glanced at the flower pots on the ground with great interest.
Once Chen Shu saw that Ye Sui had turned her attention to the flowers, he was relieved. He immediately took the gloves on one side.
“Put on these gloves first.” Chen Shu helped Ye Sui put on white cotton gloves. Her skin would become rough if it directly touched the soil.
Ye Sui took the small shovel handed over by Chen Shu and began to plow up the soil in the open space.
Chen Shu also squatted beside her cooperatively. He would do whatever Ye Sui needed and did not complain.
Finally, the whole corner of the courtyard was planted with flowers of various colors by Ye Sui and Chen Shu. When the breeze blew, the flowers would flutter with the wind.
In the early spring, the setting sun had an orange glow. Dense clouds were drifting and floating in the blue sky, and the air was full of floral fragrance, fresh and clean.
Although it took Ye Sui a whole afternoon to plant these flowers, her mood gradually stabilized as time passed.
The nightmares she had had did not mean anything. Why should she be bothered by things that had never happened?
