Ye Sui stood in front of the elevator and stared at the elevator numbers descending. Soon, the elevator would reach the ground floor. “Let’s go to the 20th floor.”
Neither Chen Shu nor Ye Sui knew that they were heading to the same floor.
As soon as Fangirl Ghost finished speaking another female ghost suddenly came out of the elevator. The elevator doors were still closed, but a ghost had emerged...
The new ghost wore an ancient dress, with her hair pulled up in a high bun. It was obvious from her appearance that she had died at a young age. However, unlike other ghosts that showed physically trauma they suffered that led to their deaths, her appearance was that of a normal person.
The female ghost suddenly coming out of the elevator shaft scared Ye Sui, but she quickly pretended she didn’t see anything. Maybe the ghost wouldn’t notice her if she stayed quiet...
“Stop pretending, Wei Xuan already told me that you can see us.” The ancient ghost told her and mockingly poked Ye Sui’s forehead. Since her plan of pretending that she couldn’t see anything failed, Ye Sui’s gaze fixed on the ancient ghost again.
After Wei Xuan died, she often visited Weizhi’s group. It was not that surprising that she knew this elevator ghost.
“You have to hurry. The president of Huarui Company already entered the elevator. If the moment comes and he’s nearby, you won’t be able to meet Wei Wei’s mother.”
Hearing the ancient ghost, Fangirl Ghost panicked. “What should we do, big sister? I must see my mother today!”
Ever since Fangirl Ghost found Ye Sui, she had been in high spirits. She had only been sixteen years old when she died, hence why she had been so desperate to find someone like Ye Sui.
It suddenly dawned on Ye Sui that when they had entered the elevator, the other one had already gone up. Supposedly, it was the elevator that the president of Huarui company had entered.
“Do you have any ways to slow them down a little? Just enough for us to arrive first, then you can let them go.” Ye Sui turned to the ancient ghost for help. With a somewhat embarrassed laugh, the ancient ghost nodded. “I do this often, I’m very proficient at it.”
The ancient ghost did not die by accident. She lurked in this building because her grave had been just below the Weizhi building. When the company started constructing the building, her grave was moved to another place.
However, the ancient ghost was fond of her original resting place, so she simply stayed. While she was alive, she had never seen such technology as the elevator. She fell in love with it at first sight.
From time to time, she’d play pranks on the company’s employees, just to stave off boredom. Sometimes the elevator would stop in the wrong floors, or the doors would open for no reason.
Seeing the gleeful expression on the ancient ghost’s face, Ye Sui only sighed and delivered the task. “I’ll leave this matter to you, then.”
The plan was quite simple: once the elevator reached a floor, it would stop and the doors would open. Meanwhile, the elevator Ye Sui and Fangirl Ghost were on would arrive first on the 20th floor.
When the people inside the other elevator saw all the floor buttons lit up without anyone touching them, they would certainly be frightened. With a smirk on her face, the ancient ghost drifted into the other elevator.
But before she could act on her prank scheme, she got scared to death by the Yang spirit inside the elevator.
How come the Huarui President was so scary?
Chen Shu stood right in front of the elevator buttons. The ancient ghost didn’t even dare think of crossing that invisible barrier and swiftly got out of the elevator. She still completed the task Ye Sui gave her by pressing the elevator buttons on all the floors, but from the outside.
For a normal person, pressing the button on every floor would be insanity, but for a ghost, it wasn’t that big of a deal.
Inside the elevator that the ghost had just flown out of stood Wang Chuan. He suddenly felt quite a difference in the temperature inside, enough that goosebumps appeared on his arms. Gingerly touching his arm, he wondered at the sensation. “Why did it suddenly get colder in here?”
All he got from Chen Shu, who wasn’t the least bit affected, was a weird glance. He was a big man, but he was very afraid of cold weather. He could only blame himself for being so talkative and shaming himself in front of the President.
Wang Chuan felt like someone was pressuring him, but maybe it was all his imagination. After thinking for a while, he concluded that yes, it was all just an illusion. If he didn’t chalk everything up to his overactive imagination, then he’d lose even more face in front of the President.
—Ding!
The elevator stopped at the next floor and the doors opened up. Oddly enough, there was no one waiting. Both men inside the elevator thought that someone had maybe given up on waiting after pressing the button. The doors closed and they proceeded to the next floor.
—Ding!
The elevator stopped again on the next floor.
Wang Chuan leaned his body out of the elevator and looked around. There was no one outside but the elevator doors were open. His courage was already small but once a sudden evil breeze passed through him, he was shaken.
Glancing around, he saw that Chen Shu was completely unaffected. He couldn’t care less that the elevator had stopped for no one again. Since neither the President nor his colleagues said anything, Wang Chuan didn’t make a big fuss about it.
Once again, the elevator doors closed and it continued its journey upwards.
—Ding!
—Ding! —Ding!
—Ding! —Ding! —Ding!
The elevator stopped on every floor it passed, but no one came in. By then Wang Chuan wasn’t the only one flustered, even his colleagues were a little bewildered.
“President Chen, do you think this elevator is haunted?”
To be continue....
