Chapter 307 304- Did He Hear Me?
Chapter 307 304- Did He Hear Me?
Li Shen sat there completely stumped.
Li Bai saw his reaction and he couldn’t help but release a sigh.
“My true name is Qin Hao, the second young master of the Qin Clan that has the bloodline of the Golden Lotus Clan.
As Li Shen tried to wrap his head around this revelation, he looked up at Li Bai and asked.
“So was there no Tomb in the first place, was it all a lie?
Li Bai sported a confused expression.
Li Shen seeing this explained.
“My father told me that our Clan found the inheritance grounds of the Golden Lotus Clan and you received their Ancient bloodline.
Li Bai’s expression turn thoughtful when he heard Li Shen’s explanation.
“I guess that was one of the things I fabricated when I decided to leave.
Li Bai soon said with a forced smile on his face.
Li Shen immediately realized he had made another blunder.
However, he didn’t know that it was because of this interaction that Li Bai would eventually go on to fabricate the lie in the first place. He had inadvertently become the one responsible for this lie to be known as the clan’s history.
“Hm, it seems our time is about to be cut short.
Li Bai suddenly said as he looked at Li Shen’s arm which was slowly becoming transparent.
“If you want to ask any more questions better do it fast.
Li Shen looked up from his arm to Li Bai before asking.
“What’s the Central Continent like?
Li Bai hearing Li Shen’s question strangely perked up and his eyebrows raised while a smile spread across his face.
“Are you planning on heading to the Central Continent?
Thinking for a moment, Li Shen then nodded his head.
“Hahaha!
Li Bai was strangely happy with Li Shen’s answer.
“If that’s the case then I won’t spoil the experience for you. It might be difficult to pass the Heavenly Bridge but you're my direct descendant. I’m sure your potential is enough to deem you worthy to cross.
Li Shen took note of that about the Heavenly Bridge.
He then went into thought. He was thinking about what he wanted to know from Li Bai, but all the questions that were on the tip of his tongue just felt pointless to ask now.
However, one suddenly rose to the surface to overshadow the others.
“Why did you leave?
Li Shen asked as he locked eyes with Li Bai.
“Our Clan is weakened now because of the ancestors leaving to search for the origin of our bloodline. Which is strange since we have it because of you, not some Tomb.
Li Shen was frowning by the end of his sentence.
“Origin of our bloodline?
Li Bai asked confused.
“Our Qin Clan were the ones to have found the Tomb of the Golden Lotus Clan. That is the most guarded secret of our clan and the other Ancient Clans. To think I would not only reveal it but to even mention the prophecy of the Golden Lotus Clan to finding an heir. Just what prompted me to do such a thing?
Li Bai had a hand under his chin as he thought to himself. Meanwhile, Li Shen almost bit off his tongue as he said something he wasn’t supposed to once again.
If he ended up going back to an unrecognizable future he didn’t know what he would do.
Li Bai soon sigh and turn to Li Shen that had his legs and torso fading away.
“I had originally run away from my clan because I was being forced into a marriage I didn’t want. But I eventually ended up finding love on this Continent, even having a son in the process who is a genius in alchemy.
Li Bai smiled.
“And I can’t say I regret it. But I haven’t left yet, though I can think of a few things that would force me to. Based on the things you’ve said, my father must have found me. Everything I did including scraping my identity must have been to protect my second home.
As Li Bai spoke, Li Shen was lowering his head as he listened.
He could kind of picture the timeline of the way things went after hearing him.
But one thing that was missing in all of this was the Ming Clan. Did his clan overthrow them before or after his ancestor came to the clan? And what about the Bloodline they got afterward? How did they get it?
This wasn’t just the Ming Clan, but it extended to the Lu Clan on the Star Bound Continent which has the Yin Yang Ancient Bloodline as well as the others he read about on the other Continents.
‘Over the years, members of the Ancient Clans must have come from the Central Continent to settle down in this sub-region. But is that really the case? And why?’
Li Shen wondered if this was something he could ask, but he hesitated.
It was obvious something happened between now and the future he came from. The time period between these points in time was roughly seven thousand years.
Considering how long cultivators could live, no great change would be noticeable during those years. But there was not only his Clan, but six other Ancient Clans appeared.
‘The Mercenary Association as well, I discovered that they are descendants of a force from the Central Continent.’
There was also the fact of Ling Tian and Ling Xia's appearance, but that small fact slipped his mind at the moment.
But even then, he had his suspicions that there was a cause, something had made these behemoths on the Central Continent interested in his Maple Continent during those seven thousand years.
‘Is it related to the arm trapped in the volcano? Or is it about the Hidden Pocket Realm?’
Li Shen could only think of those two things.
Looking at his body ready to fade away completely, a sense of urgency overcame him and his curiosity got the better of him. He ignored changing the timeline for a moment.
“Ancestor..
Li Bai was silently watching as Li Shen struggled with his next question, he was patient.
“What happened to the Ming Clan?
Li Shen tried to make his question as vague as possible.
“The Ming Clan? I married into the clan after they were overthrown. But because of my identity, Li Yu’s father chose to make me the Emperor instead. So that’s how I became Emperor, however, I see that over time that name has become the clan's Foundering Ancestor. Perhaps it’s because of my bloodline, but as it is now, most of our clan is still mortal and low-level cultivators.
Li Shen hearing that realize the Ming Clan hadn’t received the Blade God's bloodline yet.
Li Shen looked down at his body, his legs were completely gone and his torso was next. He had to hurry if he wanted to know what happened.
“Is there anything strange about the Continent?
Li Shen suddenly asked, and as he did he saw Li Bai’s eyes narrow.
“What do you mean by strange?
“Um..
If he didn’t know, Li Shen didn’t want to say.
Li Bai seeing his hesitation thought for a moment then said.
“The reason why I originally stopped in this sub-region is that as soon as I entered, I felt an overwhelming amount of fire and water laws. I searched the Continent for its source for a couple of years and finally found several seals that had various body parts locked inside.
Li Shen’s body shook upon hearing that, but only remain silent to listen to Li Bai continue.
“I found four body parts in total. A right and left arm as well as legs. However, I wasn't foolish enough to release it when it looked like whoever seal it did everything in their power to keep it sealed. This is mainly why I accepted being the Emperor, I wanted to watch over the continent and make sure no one discover them. As for the parts on the other continents, I reinforced the seals. I'm actually here now because I decided to search the other sub-regions close by for the torso and head, this is my final stop before I return empty-handed.
Li Bai then looked down at Li Shen.
“Why did you ask? Was it discovered?
His expression turned serious.
Li Shen shook his head and said.
“It’s just that I found one, that’s all.
“You found one?
Li Bai asked a hint of surprise in his voice.
Li Shen simply nodded, but Li Bai suddenly looked at him deeply.
“What are you not telling me?
Li Shen’s chest was starting to fade away, and he couldn't see his forearms anymore.
“It’s better if I don’t say. It isn’t as bad if I know a few things, but I don’t know how you would react to what I say and end up changing the future.
Li Bai frowned at that but he completely agreed with Li Shen. If he was told of something crucial that would happen in the future he couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t act on that knowledge.
Li Bai soon released a sigh and looked at Li Shen’s head which only remained of his body.
“I think you just being here in the Seven Divine Beast Sect’s legacy Palace told me a lot of things. I’m sure you haven’t left the sub-region our clan is in.
Li Shen remained silent upon hearing that. In the future the Seven Divine Beast Sect would fall, but he can't say that.
“Goodbye little Shen, it was nice meeting one of my descendants.
Li Shen smiled at that but he couldn’t help but have a worrying feeling at the back of his mind.
Something was going to happen, and it probably correlated with Li Bai leaving the continent. He wasn’t sure if it was a bad thing that so many Ancient Clans were now on the Maple Continent when it looked like it mostly consisted of mortals and low-level cultivators just seven thousand years ago.
And Li Bai didn’t mention the Hidden Fragmented Realm.
‘Why does it feel like the entire Maple Continent’s history was built on top of lies and forgotten information?’
That was the sense Li Shen got after meeting with Li Bai.
The Maple Continent was like a mine that the Ancient Clans excavated until the precious ores once found in it were mined clean to leave nothing but scraps. Afterward, they up and left, only leaving vague traces that they were ever here.
Li Shen sighed internally and looked at Li Bai to say goodbye as well, but something suddenly pooped into his mind.
“Wait, you said you knew you were going to meet me, how?
“Hm? Because I was told by someone, but I don’t know who.
Li Bai shrugged as he said that but he didn’t give any context.
Half of Li Shen’s face was fully faded away but one could see the confused expression that overcame it.
“Oh!
Li Bai’s eyes suddenly widen as he remembered something.
“The person also said I should tell you something, that you should kill someone. What was the name of the person again?
Li Bai asked his himself in a hurry when he saw that only an eye and an ear remained of Li Shen.
Placing a finger against his forehead, he closed his eyes and think for a moment.
“That’s right! The person said you should make the decision and kill someone name Yang Su before it’s too late. He-
Li Bai said rather loudly as he spun to look at Li Shen but then saw the dragon throne was empty. Li Shen had returned to his timeline.
“Hm, did he hear me?
Li Bai asked worriedly.
"Damn, I'm really not good at remembering names."
