Chapter 284: 283: Making Trouble
Chapter 284: 283: Making Trouble
By the time the noon business ended, Ji Yue’s foot had swollen even more than before.
It had gone from a small pig’s trotter to a large one, with the entire top of her foot swelling up, and she would let out a cry like a pig being slaughtered with every step she took.
Jiang Feng couldn’t help but wonder, had she really just twisted her foot, or had she actually smashed it with a stone?
Ji Yue’s little leather shoes could no longer contain her big pig’s trotter, and even the experienced Mrs. Wang Xiulian did not dare to act rashly, only allowing her to sit with her bare right foot propped up on a chair.
“Yueyue’s foot must have injured the bone, Feng, go call a car and carry Yueyue over,” said Wang Xiulian.
Jiang Feng nodded and took out his phone to book a ride.
“No need to call a car, I drove here. I’ll take Ji Yue to the hospital,” said Zhang Guanghang, who had changed his clothing and emerged from the dressing room, giving off an illusion of glowing with a shimmery highlight under the lights.
“Alright then, Zhang, you go start the car. Feng, you carry Yueyue out,” Wang Xiulian began to coordinate the plan.
With Wang Xiulian’s help, Ji Yue clung onto Jiang Feng’s back like a loo-pound octopus, nearly causing him to fall flat on his face.
Ji Yue was heavier than Liu Qian!
Jiang Feng realized this critical information immediately, since he didn’t struggle this much last time he carried Liu Qian.
“Did you really succeed in losing weight?” Jiang Feng asked doubtfully.
“Half-successful,” Ji Yue retorted stubbornly.
“How much do you weigh now?” Jiang Feng took a few steps forward, certain that Ji Yue was not the 90 pounds she had previously claimed.
“After lunch, 89!” Ji Yue warned Jiang Feng with her eyes.
Jiang Feng:…
He could guarantee, with his many years of experience in chopping and weighing meat, that Ji Yue was definitely over 95 pounds.
Well, given that she twisted her ankle and it was swollen like a pig’s trotter, let’s just assume that the trotter weighed 6 pounds for now.
Zhang Guanghang’s car was parked in the underground parking garage of the neighboring mall. By the time Jiang Feng carried Ji Yue to the entrance of the Taifeng Building, Zhang Guanghang’s car had just arrived at the entrance.
What Jiang Feng hadn’t expected was that underneath Zhang Guanghang’s seemingly aloof exterior, there was such a showy heart.
His car was actually a sapphire blue Bentley.
Jiang Feng didn’t know the model, as he had no particular fondness for cars and was not very knowledgeable about them. Recognizing the logo was about as far as his interest extended, and his current total assets didn’t allow for researching cars at the Bentley’s price range—if we’re talking net worth, he couldn’t even afford a second-hand Alto.
Zhang Guanghang opened the car door, took Ji Yue from Jiang Feng’s back, settled her in the back seat, and Jiang Feng sat in the front seat.
“I’ll drop you off at the entrance of the emergency building; there should be a wheelchair there. Have Ji Yue sit in the wheelchair and you push her in. After I park, I’ll go register; I’m familiar with the registration and payment procedures. You just wait for me in the emergency,” suggested Zhang Guanghang.
Jiang Feng could only nod.
It wasn’t rush hour and traffic was good. The hospital wasn’t too far from the Taifeng Building, and it took Zhang Guanghang just over 20 minutes to drive there.
The emergency room was packed with patients. There were quite a few people gathered around the entrance, creating a noisy scene like a dispute was happening. Afraid of being bumped into, Jiang Feng had to constantly weave through the crowd, keeping an eye out for a wheelchair.
“Your damned corrupt hospital, letting those rubbish doctors operate on my dad and charging such exorbitant surgery fees! Now after the surgery is done, they say some post-surgery infection and want more money. It’s just preying on our ignorance, definitely your doctors’ fault for botching the surgery. How come only my dad is in trouble when there’s so many in a room? It’s all your fault, and you still have the nerve to ask me for money, I’ll trash your damn hospital!” a brawny middle-aged man yelled while waving a stick, his expression highly agitated as two security guards could only stand by, not daring to approach.
“Dr. Jiang, Dr. Jiang, it’s him!” a nurse pulled Jiang Shoucheng out to the scene.
“Cheng ge!” Jiang Feng spotted his older brother, Jiang Shoucheng, wearing an oversized white coat, at once.
“Little brother?” Jiang Shoucheng ignored the commotion and turned his attention to Jiang Feng and Ji Yue on his back, his gaze then captured by Ji Yue’s pig’s trotter.
He squeezed in meals at the Taifeng Building when he had time, and was somewhat acquainted with Ji Yue.
“How did Ji Yue’s foot get so swollen? Hui, fetch a wheelchair for this patient and let Dr. Cao have a look. I’ll take care of this little trouble first,” Jiang Shoucheng said.
The young nurse who had pulled him over quickly went to get a wheelchair for Ji Yue.
The two security guards could only stop the middle-aged man from entering but didn’t dare to grab the wooden stick from him. His expression was crazed, waving the thick stick tirelessly as if he never knew exhaustion, his eyes bloodshot, looking somewhat terrifying.
“Sir, this is a hospital; please put down the stick in your hand,” Jiang Shoucheng said.
“You black-hearted hospital, I’m going to smash you all!” the middle-aged man continued to swing his stick.
Jiang Shoucheng stepped forward, and the man swung the stick at him.
Jiang Shoucheng firmly grabbed the stick, and no matter how hard the man tried, the stick wouldn’t budge.
Then, Jiang Shoucheng snatched the stick from his hands and casually snapped it.
With a “crack,” the stick broke in two.
The spectators were stunned.
The security guards were stunned too.
“Dr. Jiang is so cool!” a nurse nearby exclaimed.
“Yeah, he seems so safe!”
Jiang Feng couldn’t refute them because he also thought Cheng looked incredibly cool just now!
Jiang Shoucheng’s height, Jiang Shoucheng’s weight, the amount of hair on Jiang Shoucheng’s head rivaling that of an attending physician, the muscles wrapped in fat on Jiang Shoucheng’s body, at that moment, appeared so majestic, so reassuring to the onlookers.
Even though the stick was broken, the middle-aged man was not at all scared and still wanted to rush up and fight Jiang Shoucheng.
Jiang Shoucheng quickly restrained him, the two security guards rushed to help hold him, and Jiang Shoucheng released his grip. Seeing that Nurse Hui had already brought the wheelchair, he called out to her.
“He seems a bit off, go ask Director Wang to have a look,” Jiang Shoucheng said, taking the wheelchair from her and pushing it next to Jiang Feng, helping to lift Ji Yue onto it.
With no more excitement to watch, the onlookers dispersed.
“That didn’t seem like a healthcare disturbance!”
“I don’t think so either. Maybe that man has a mental problem, and he was having an episode?”
“Possible, he did look like he was having an episode.”
Though everyone was accustomed to disturbances in the hospital, it was their first time seeing someone daring to take on a brawny man like Jiang Shoucheng in a 1V1 real-life fight. Combining this with what Jiang Shoucheng had said, the spectators all believed that the middle-aged man probably was having an episode.
“Big brother, you also handle this kind of thing?” Jiang Feng asked while pushing the wheelchair, Ji Yue also looked curiously at Jiang Shoucheng.
“I can’t help it, our residency program is like a brick, moved wherever it’s needed,” Jiang Shoucheng said, touching his hair.
A strand of hair slipped through his fingers.
“Ah, my Tony has left me as well,” Jiang Shoucheng said with a sad face.
“Tony?” Ji Yue looked puzzled.
“Because I have so few hairs, each one has a name. Last night during the night shift, Jack, Jason, Mary all left me,” Jiang Shoucheng lamented, “Sigh.”
Jiang Feng: ???
There’s such an operation?
