Chapter 431: The Elderly

A few minutes after cleaning away the golden beauty’s tears and consoling her until she regained her composure Virus picked up the rest of his main conversation, “As I was telling you, I’ll be leaving sometime soon, however, letting you remain here in 4 Times Square without me being here just puts my mind ill at ease… and since you also just want to continue cultivating in peace, I have a better location in mind for you.”

“Hmm? Is it the atoll?” The golden beauty questioned with the corner of her eyes still red a little.

“No, you will know it soon enough. Let’s pick up our stuff and leave right away.” Half an hour after having collected their essential daily items in two separate suitcases, the two left the highest floor via the elevator.

However, before leaving the building, their next destination was the CEO ugly’s office.

“Master! You should’ve just ordered me to come to you.” Seeing Virus enter his office with the golden beauty, CEO ugly jumped from his seat as he rushed over to Virus anxiously.

“It’s okay. I just came over to tell you that we’re leaving for a while, you take care of everything that might pop up along the way while I’m gone. You can also grow the business in any way you see fit if the opportunity arises, otherwise, just follow the previous frame we agreed upon. Nonetheless, I’m certain you’ll do a fine job. I made you, so I’m most aware exactly how intelligent and smart I created you to be.” Virus pronounced notifying the CEO ugly of his departure.

On the other side, the CEO ugly was feeling quite jovial hearing Virus’ compliments, although, in the end, all of the praise was directed at Virus himself actually.

“Yes, master. Is there anything else I can assist you with? Please pass me the orders.” The CEO ugly voiced humbly while bowing.

“Hmm, also, tell the Security ugly to rush to the atoll, I have a new task in mind for him. We’re leaving now.” Turning around, Virus left while the golden beauty followed closely behind him.

“Yes, master! May you have a great journey ahead of you!”

MANY HOURS AGO

While standing beside the perspiring small figure of her son who was currently unconscious but still clearly in great agony, Hu Yuexin listened to the doctor’s opinion without any reaction, “We did everything we could, unfortunately, he appears to be reaching his limits, his physique has grown too weak now… I’m afraid-“

“Alright, I understand.” Confirming the bad news, Hu Yuexin turned around and left the ward. Watching her leave, however, the nurse beside the doctor started criticizing her, “Hmph, how can she be so cold-hearted! How can she turn into such a heartless person all of a sudden? She’s changed indeed. She used to be such a warm person, all I see now is an uncaring heart!”

Meanwhile, after listening to her, the doctor scolded her at once, “Shut up! What do you know about being a parent?”

Simultaneously, on the way outside, many thoughts were passing through Hu Yuexin’s head, ‘I need to get stronger very quickly if I want to save him. If it was before, I would not have had enough time, but now…’ raising a fist, she finished her deliberation, ‘with this Trait, I have a chance.’

Indeed, having promised herself to save the boy so as to repay the previous owner of her body, Hu Yuexin was prepared to go to any lengths to accomplish her goal. There was no room for failure.

Unfortunately, there was another problem that was blocking her path, ‘I thought I could reserve one Rift after another and progress at a moderate pace. But now, reserving each Rift wastes too much time and I just happen to not have enough of that. So… the only method I have left is to…’

AN HOUR LATER

Currently, in front of a two-star Rift in the vicinity of Shanghai, three Guardians were awaiting its activation and indeed, it didn’t take long before one monstrous beast after another began to pour out.

“Let’s go!” Screaming in vigor, the leader of the trio was just about to charge toward their now activated reserved Rift when out of nowhere, an unknown woman wearing a scary devil mask with two diabolical horns showed up and start killing their monsters one after another.

“You! You, thief! What do you think you’re doing stealing someone else’s Rift! You’re going to be in a lot of trouble now-” Before he could even finish though, he faced the chilly gaze of the masked woman which temporarily silenced him at once.

“Shut up if you don’t want to die.” Casually muttering this, the masked woman continued her massacre.

But what was the most terrifying to the trio was the fact that after each beast died, it was as if its corpse was strongly rejecting its own blood as every drop left it at once, leaving a mummified creature behind. Subsequently, the blood appeared to have found a new host as it rushed at the masked woman before disappearing into her.

This sight promptly left the trio speechless and terrified. Although they had been about to charge at her before, all notions of resistance vanished from their minds at once.

Soon, all monsters had been slaughtered as the masked woman disappeared as quickly as she had shown up.

“Phew, she’s finally gone… but where’s the Abnormal’s Association? Why haven’t any Guardian’s been dispatched yet?” Somewhat frustrated, one of the trios questioned agitatedly.

“Are you seriously asking that? It happened so fast that the association didn’t even have enough time to react.”

PRESENT TIME

In the meantime, somewhere else, an elderly man was standing before a mummified corpse while muttering to himself, “So you’re saying this is Tong’er?”

“Yes, sir. It’s been confirmed that this is indeed-” before the other person could even finish his sentence though, a slap sat on his face, silencing the man at once.

At some distance behind the old man, there were hundreds of men lined up ready for protection and order. Moreover, if one went ahead and checked their identities, that person would soon realize each and every one of them was all Guardians.
