Volume 2 - 94 The Moment of Death
Volume 2 - 94 The Moment of Death
The man who seemed to be in charge of the other group quickly came out of his surprise, then turned completely calm and stated, "Miss Electro, please calm down. We are not the killers of your men and we have no hostility toward you, it’s the opposite, to be frank. Today, we came here to find you only because... the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Don’t you agree, miss Electro?"
Listening to this, Electro held her hand as she questioned confusedly with a cold voice, "What do you mean by that?"
"Okay, just dissipate that bold of lightning so we could be able to explain with a peace of mind..." The other man spoke again.
Electro stayed quiet for a short period, before demanding, "Explain... or die!" As she said this sentence, that bolt of lightning also got stronger in intensity.
With a helpless grin on his face, the other man knew this wasn’t working after listening to Electro’s words, so he voiced powerlessly, "Alright, alright..."
"Let me begin with introducing ourselves to you then." The man muttered before saluting as he continued, "We are sent here by the Russian government to ask for your assistance and help in bringing the person behind ’The Moment of Death’ case to justice."
"Not interested." Listening to his words, Electro only rejected coldly as she questioned further, "Just tell me who was behind all this, and we three shall personally bring him to our own justice!"
The Russian man felt very dissatisfied when he heard the first part of her sentences, but then after she continued, he felt awkward about what she wanted to know, "...", Nevertheless, after a short pause, he notified her, "Miss Electro, to be truthful, the main reason we came after you was to ask who was behind this all... don’t you really know who it was? Didn’t you provoke someone you shouldn’t have? You should know at least who you’ve provoked, right?"
Electro felt angry inside hearing his words as she felt like being insulted, so she uttered coldly, "So you guys are useless! Then leave this place immediately if you’re not looking for death."
"Wait, wait, wait... miss Electro, maybe my higher-ups know already who was behind this heinous crime, if you would just follow us, we will bring you to a place where you can talk to them directly by your own mouth." Seeing her impatience and realizing she was about to attack if they didn’t go, the other man uttered his words in a hurry.
Electro didn’t believe that they were aware of the identity of the person behind the massacre, but nonetheless, she couldn’t just pass the small possibility that they knew who was behind it, so after a long pause, she first glanced at her left and right men before voicing, "Okay, where shall we go?"
Witnessing the result of his words, the man smiled as he stated more respectfully this time, "Please follow behind us miss Electro, it’s in the nearest town to this place."
After that, they got on their cars and started driving to a direction while the trio assassins followed closely behind them with their own vehicle.
On the way Viper asked Electro whether she believed their words, to which Electro replied with, "I don’t believe their words at all, but if there is a small possibility of them knowing the answer we have been looking for weeks, then I’m willing to take the risk of following them even if it’s a trap!"
After that, they talked no more as they followed the car in front of them in silence.
Forty minutes later, they entered a small town and directly went to a house in an abandoned part of the town.
Getting off their cars, the trio assassins followed after the other man inside a house where they saw lots of monitors through which they seemed to be able to communicate with somewhere else.
"Where are your higher-ups?" Electro stated with a chilly voice after witnessing no one around.
"Wait for a moment please, let me connect you to them. You’re gonna talk to them online." After uttering these words, he sat behind one of the desks as he started pressing buttons after buttons.
And soon, a person appeared on the screen of one of the big monitors, but that person’s face wasn’t clear.
The moment it connected, the man saluted the other person inside the screen before he began talking, "Sir, we have located and brought the leader of Heaven together with two of her men to our hideout, if you would please, talk to her in person, but... they seem not to know who is behind the massacre at all."
"I see, okay, I’ll talk to her myself, all of you other than her leave the room." The man inside the screen ordered, from his voice, it seemed to be a Russian middle-aged man’s voice.
"Yes, sir."
After they left, only Electro was left in the room, she looked at the screen and spoke coldly, "Just tell me... who was it?!"
Without beating around the bush, the other person replied, "I don’t know."
"Then there is no reason for me to be here, goodbye." Uttering this, she turned around wanting to leave, when the person in the screen talked, "Wait! Even though I don’t know who it was that killed your men, but I know a way through which we can probably at least narrow the list of suspects!"
Electro was intrigued as she turned toward the screen again and asked, "What way?"
Seeing her interested, the other man grinned, but her grin wasn’t clear on the screen. Then he said, "It’s simple... actually, there is someone else in our side who died in the same way your men died... the only thing we need to do is..." Talking until here, the man went quiet for a couple of seconds, but soon he continued, "The only thing we need to do is to compare our lists of suspects and see who appears on both lists! How is it? Do you accept my suggestion of comparing our lists?"
Electro’s eyes started shining when she heard that there was someone else in the world who died the same way her men died. Then, they shone even brighter listening to this unknown man’s method as she replied, "I accept!"
