Before they left, they even hosted a farewell ceremony.
It was a sight to behold as fifteen or so players on various rare mounts formed a line on top a mountain in the Searing Gorge near Blackrock Mountain.
The whole ceremony was filmed and edited into the promotional video which also included some clips of their dungeon highlights. They posted the video onto the gaming forums in order to raise their popularity, as well as to promote their name.
Unfortunately, the filming process was quite rough because there were too many monsters near Blackrock Mountain.
The monsters here included the Black Dragon Army, Dark Iron Dwarves that were enslaved by Ragnaros, and the Orcs who had journeyed here during the Second War and settled near the volcano. There was a great battle between the Orcs and the Firegut Ogres that came from the South. The Alliance also sent out their troops to join in on this great battle between five different races.
For the players that were attempting the Instance Dungeon here, all five races were enemies and therefore, monsters to them.
This was the first inter-faction event in the game where both Alliance and Horde players had come together. The gaming company made some adjustments in order to accommodate for both parties.
“If I knew it was you that was representing Seventh Heaven, then I wouldn’t have come.”
These players pretended to be friendly at first, but after the event officials left, they began showing their true colors. For example, Elevenless and Hornet’s Nest were arch enemies. Seventh Heaven and Wings of Dawn had many issues in the past.
“Haha, do you really think I want to see you? If it wasn’t because Lucky Southern Persian would gag every time he sees you, I wouldn’t even have come,” Hornet’s Nest chided, not holding back at all.
Lucky Southern Persian attended the all-star team last year, but decided to let Hornet’s Nest attend this year since he had missed out for the last two years.
“****! What’d you say, Dog’s Nest?” Elevenless shouted angrily.
“Shut the hell up,” Hornet’s Nest laughed coldly. “Call me Dog’s Nest one more time and I’ll come find you in real life.”
Elevenless decided to shut his mouth.
The two had issues in the past and met up to settle their disagreements. Even though Elevenless was a fearless Warrior in game, he was actually a skinny midget in real life. On the other hand, Hornet’s Nest, who enjoyed playing Mage classes, was a 180cm-tall muscular man. This was why Elevenless was so scared of Hornet’s Nest whenever he brought up anything about reality.
“You guys are so annoying; how old are you both again? How embarrassing,” Unforgettable Maple said.
“I’ll let you go this time because of Older Sister Maple,” Hornet’s Nest muttered.
“1v1 me in-game if you dare,” Elevenless quipped.
“What the hell! If someone calls me Older Sister Maple again, I will hunt you down with my life.” Unforgettable Maple almost coughed up blood. As someone who had been around the gaming world for a while now, he felt like he was being disrespected.
“Don’t worry Older Sister Maple; we wouldn’t do that to you,” Wendelian giggled.
“Yeah, we wouldn’t, Older Sister Maple,” Innocent Child said, trying his hardest to keep a straight face.
“Your face is all red Older Sister Maple. Are you blushing? Don’t be shy...”
It was quite rare for fans to see these Star players poke fun at each other.
Even Sorrowless appeared to be less cold than he usually was. He was making small talk with Azure Sea Breeze about the weather and what his favorite food was.
When the group of players entered Blackrock Mountain, they immediately saw a large lava lake. There was a path that divided the lake in two and led to the Blackrock Depths
The monsters here were around Lv55 to 60, which was barely low enough for the star players.
In the lore of the game, the Blackrock Depths were more than just a dungeon. They represented the peak of Dwarven civilization and technological advancement.
This was a city that had everything, including bars, banks, temples, an arena, a jail, a residential area, an industrial area, mechanical workshops, a forge, a large lecture hall and many defensive strongholds. It truly lived up its name of being one of the largest underground cities.
Since it was a Dwarven city, the map of the Blackrock Depths was unbelievably complicated.
It was difficult to figure out how many Bosses there were. There were some hidden Bosses that could be triggered with certain quest items or clues and even one roaming outside the dungeon.
Usually, most players would skip the Boss that was patrolling outside the dungeon because players from opposing factions would take this opportunity to ambush their enemies.
However, for the all-star team, this wasn’t a problem for them at all.
Anyone in the right mind would avoid messing with this all-star party, which consisted of the fifteen top players from the Top 10 Guilds in the game.
The Boss was called Overmaster Pyron and was related to a quest called ‘Disharmony of Flame’. According to the description, the Dark Iron Dwarves had summoned a foul spirit into the world that threatened to plague the land with an eternal drought. Players were to travel to Blackrock Mountain, through Chasm of Flame, and into the quarry. It was there that they could find the lord of fire: Overmaster Pyron.
Even though they didn’t have to kill it, Lu Li wanted to see what this group of all-star players was capable of. He hoped that they could somehow miraculously work well together.
“Commander, what’s your order?” Unforgettable Maple asked as he briefly glanced at Sorrowless, then stared at Lu Li.
Sorrowless stared at the ground so that the others couldn’t see his expression. No one really spoke up to ask if he was ok. Most of them were glad that he didn’t receive the commander position, but they couldn’t help but feel a little sympathetic in their hearts.
Lu Li and Sorrowless hadn’t interacted much, but he knew that Sorrowless wasn’t as sad as everyone else thought he would be.
This was because they were the same type of person. Their inner pride and narcissism were so strong that they wouldn’t care about other peoples’ opinions of themselves.
“This is a Fire Elemental, so it should be able to use fire attacks, most likely a Fire Nova or Flamestrike. Melee players, be mindful of your HP and try to spread out a bit. No one stand near the Main Tank. Azure, you can go start the fight.”
Most of what Lu Li said was expected.
This was a standard shot call since it was Lu Li’s first time leading such a star-studded team. Sorrowless, Wendelian, and even Azure Sea Breeze would have all said something similar.
