Chapter 1196: Steamrolled

There was a starting point at each of the respective base camps which was completely enclosed. The players were given a minute of preparation time. During this time, they were able to get their food ready, cancel any debuffs and buff each other.

If you looked through the closed gate, you could almost see the opposite base camp.

Both base camps were elevated while the middle of the battlefield was quite low; this was why the battlefield was called a basin. At the foot of their base camp was the Pound while at the corresponding position on the Horde’s side was the Farm. The Blacksmith was in the middle of the battlefield and the two sides had the Sawmill and the Mines.

The Sawmill were higher up, while the Mines were quite low.

It could be said that Arathi was a very well-designed battlefield that took into account the positions and altitudes of each of the locations. Each side could make use of the water, the cliffs and the line of sight.

“This should be an easy fight,” Her Tears said. He seemed to be quite experienced.

“Why?” White Traveller was entering the battlefield for the first time and didn’t really understand much.

“You can see the other team’s lineup. If they were a team, then they would have all appeared together. Even if they haven’t arrived yet, the names would still be there. But the fact that names are trickling in means that they are just random players,” Her Tears explained.

Since the opposing party was just made up of random players, they didn’t have to fight too hard.

Regardless of whether they were made up of random players, the equipment gap between them was huge as well. This party of fifteen players was likely to have a combat strength that was multiple times better than a party of fifteen random players.

In other words, if Lu Li entered the battlefield alone with a random team, running into another team that was well-coordinated didn’t mean they would automatically lose.

“Let’s go! Wandering, lead your team to the mines. Teacher, lead your team to the Sawmill, and White, lead your team to the Pound. Team three and four, come with me to contest the Blacksmith.”

Lu Li had divided the team in advance so they could immediately rush out. There were fewer players contesting the side resource points, because the fighting would start in the middle.

The fifteen Ruling Sword players were considered to be elite players, so they had mounts to get to their locations.

On the other hand, their opponents were much worse off. Almost all of them had to use their two legs to get to their destinations. Naturally, it was impossible for them to have reached their locations at the same time. According to the game’s settings, the distance to the Blacksmith and the side resource points were the same on both sides.

However, when they saw a group of players riding out on their mounts, they were dumbfounded.

Soon, the System started giving out warnings: White Traveller has raided the Pound. If you don’t act quickly, the Alliance will occupy it within a minute. Fat Monkey has raided the Sawmill. If you don’t act quickly, the Alliance will occupy it within a minute. Moonlight has raided the Mines. If you don’t act quickly, the Alliance will take it within a minute.

The Pound, the Farm, the Blacksmith, the Mines and Sawmill were the five resources points marked with a grey flag. The players could occupy each of these locations when they arrived at them. It took 30 seconds to capture these locations and the capture would be cancelled if the player was attacked during this time.

After 30 seconds of successful capturing, the flag would remain grey.

It was only after a minute that the flag would turn into a side’s colour. If the Alliance captured the area, the flag would turn blue,if while the Horde captured the area, the flag would turn red. When an area was captured, it would grant resources over time.

Arathi’s win condition was 2000 resources, and this could be slowly gathered by capturing resource points.

“Uhh, do you still want to fight them? These are players that are contending for the championship in this battle. I don’t think it’s worth it.”

The players that saw the capture beginning would rush in to stop it from happening, but after seeing the names of who they were up against, there were some that immediately quit the

match.

It wasn’t just one player either. Four to five players almost immediately left the battlefield.

“Woah, surely they could have at least tried? You can’t just quit the battlefield; there will be a 15-minute penalty if I remember correctly,” Fat Monkey said as he rushed into a player, only to find that they had left the battlefield.

When he turned around to find another target, he found that those that hadn’t left had already been taken out by his teammates.

“I probably wouldn’t have subjected myself to the abuse either. Let’s just finish the fight.”

Lu Li hadn’t even gotten down from his mount.

They pushed to the other side of the battlefield, where the Horde’s base camp was and took over the map.

There were five Respawn points on this battlefield – the Mines, the Sawmill, the Blacksmith and the two base camps. After a player died, they would revive at the nearest respawn point. However, if you lost control of all five points, you would respawn at home.

Lu Li pushed all the way to the end and began fighting the players at their front door.

There were two players that had just rushed out who had probably been killed at the Sawmill or the Mines. Lu Li didn’t even go into Stealth. He cast Gouge on one player and leapt behind the other to deal with them.

After these two players died, they were revived again in their base camp. They were then immediately greeted by Lu Li and the others who were camping the area.

“Make sure to leave someone at every point,” Lu Li reminded the players behind him while he attacked a hostile Mage.

“Relax.”

White Traveller snuck around below the flag of the Pound. Thieves were the best profession for guarding the flag. If someone tried to capture it, they could cast Sap without even revealing themselves.

“They are already outnumbered. Why should we even bother with the resource points?” Fat Monkey didn’t really understand.

“It’s just in case. How about you go to the Mines and Mu Qiu go to the Sawmill?” Lu Li suggested, assigning some players to be the flag protectors. It was best not to underestimate the team, as a Thief or Druid could easily slip out and capture the point.

Although this kind of capture probably wouldn’t result in a comeback, it would delay their resource gathering which was an unnecessary waste of time.

Under normal circumstances, you would have to assign more than a single player to defend the points. However, their opponents were so weak that one player was more than enough to defend everything.

“Boss, why is it me? Please Boss, show me some pity,” Fat Monkey cried. He obviously didn’t want to protect the flag, because he was unlikely to fight anyone that way.

Although there were some players that didn’t like fighting, Fat Monkey was obviously not one of them.
