“Ok, take a break!”
Lu Li took Gaith’s last bit of HP and the System notified that he gained a Skill Point as a reward. This pleasant surprise took away the exhaustion he had felt for the past few hours.
In reality, even amongst the top players, Lu Li had received close to the highest number of Skill Points. This was because he had cleared so many dungeons on Nightmare mode and completed so many quests that were unheard of.
Everyone was exhausted and they were finally able to catch their breath. Most of the team were either sitting or lying down.
“That Boss was seriously hard. I doubt the other guilds could clear it,” Azure Sea Breeze sighed as he laid on one of the fire pillars. He continued taking the burn damage, but his passive health regen was much faster.
“It wasn’t that bad. I think we did well,” Jaweika said as he ripped off some bread and ate it.
Jaweika didn’t always participate in dungeon runs with Lu Li. As a Shadow Priest, he could only make the roster when it was a 15-man raid. Therefore, he had no idea how fast Lu Li’s team usually completed the First Clear.
“That’s what you call well?” Azure was surprised.
“We’re lucky Lu Li thought of the fire pillar strategy; I don’t think anyone else would be smart enough to come up with that. Normally, if other guilds can’t figure out the strategy, they’ll end up wasting an entire day. The next day, they’ll send in another team to try it out. Ruling Swords is the only guild that has a set First Clear team because it wastes too much time for the other guilds to fail time and time again,” Jaweika explained on how the other guilds did things.
They hadn’t realized how privileged they were until they heard what Jaweika said.
After discussing how much more difficult it was for other guilds to clear dungeons, everyone felt a lot better and less tired.
Remnant Dreams stood up and walked over to the Boss excitedly. The first item was a Synthetic stone and it was redeemed by Kitty Likes Meat. There were also nine other enhancement stones in total.
Nine sounded like a lot, but it wasn’t even enough to enhance a piece of gear once.
Following this, there were two skill books, which was quite fortunate.
In reality, Rend and Gaith were both strong Bosses and the two together made them one of the hardest obstacles to clear in Blackrock Towers.
“Should we keep the strategy a secret?” Azure Sea Breeze asked.
“Why?”
“This strategy is too simple. If someone were to mention anything, the other guilds would know how to clear it immediately.”
“What’s the point of keeping it a secret? It’s not like it’ll raise the value.”
Lu Li didn’t really care if other guilds learnt the strategies. As long as he was way ahead of his competitors, he didn’t care about them at all.
“Let’s sell the strategy then,” Fat Monkey laughed.
Fat Monkey looked like a genuine and honest man, but his head was full of selfish and evil ideas. Paired with his evil laugh, this especially made him seem like a bad person.
“Such a simple strategy – who would buy it? I don’t think you’re very smart,” Azure Sea Breeze mocked him.
“Azure! This is why you get trolled by Lu Li so often. Even Wandering, the most simple-minded person in the group knows how to troll you,” Fat Monkey retorted, “How would they know the strategy is simple when they’ve never seen it?”
“Umm... you’re despicable!”
“Hehe, Big Boss, let me sell it for you and I’ll take 10% of the profit. I’ll even shout everyone dinner with that money!” Fat Monkey laughed as he wiped away his drool. Even though everyone knew the strategy now, no one dared to do anything with it unless Lu Li gave them permission.
“Ok you can go and sell it and shout dinner for the brothers from the Elite group. Keep the rest.”
Lu Li didn’t really care that much.
The dungeon guide was only for a single Boss and Blood Red War Flag had already completed the First Clear for the dungeon. It was almost impossible to sell the guide for too much.
“Okay, I’ll ask around the major guilds then,” Fat Money said.
“Yeah, that’s a good idea. They have heaps of money,” Lu Li agreed.
“What about Drizzle Court? Do we give them a discount?” Fat Monkey asked with an innocent face.
“Cough cough, Drizzle Court and Peerless City lent us some valuable equipment this tournament, so we probably shouldn’t take their money,” Lu Li said awkwardly as everyone stared at him.
“We should be thankful to them,” Wandering added.
“Yeah, they did us a favor. It wouldn’t be good to profit off them. This is why you’ll never get a wife Fat Monkey,” Sakura Memories defended Lu Li, while also stabbing him at the same time.
Lu Li quickly changed the topic.
“Remnant Dream hurry up and search the Boss’ body. We put so much effort into the fight.”
Everyone was keen to see what goodies the Boss had dropped and they were successfully distracted.
When Ruling Sword had defeated Rend, Water Fairy was not yet logged into the game.
In Jiangnan Water Town – the district that Lu Li and his younger sister were currently living in – Water Fairy was sitting in a courtyard of an ancient building. These buildings were rare in the cities nowadays and did not fit in with the rest of the architecture of the district.
It was the season for cherry blossoms and there were many planted in the courtyard. An old man and a young girl sipped on some tea as they sat under the shade.
The girl was Water Fairy. She was wearing a white overall and was holding onto a chess piece, pondering her next move. She was as still as a beautiful statute. The old man was also wearing white, but his hair and beard were even whiter.
“Sigh.. young people these days...”
The old man shook his head and threw all the chess pieces onto the chess board.
