Chapter 1429: Badge Compound

Lu Li had raided this area before, and had even defeated the evil priestess Hexx.

There were a lot of monsters lurking around, and the chance for looting quest items was much higher here. It was convenient since two of Lu Li’s underlings were questing in this area, and with a simple recruitment process, he was able to find two teammates soon enough.

His teammates were both casual players, and this time, Lu Li wasn’t so foolish as to invite them into his guild.

In fact, he even hid his ID and name within his team to avoid receiving unnecessary harassment.

It was easy to loot quest items in Hinterlands. Lu Li was able to obtain multiple trackers for “Save LOOXX-09/HL” within a short amount of time.

While Lu Li was focused on farming by clearing out large numbers of mobs, his two teammates had long since completed their quests.

Even if it was just clearing out normal monsters, the team still managed to split a generous amount of EXP amongst them, not to mention the many materials and items dropped during the battles. Unfortunately, their alliance with Lu Li was short-lived as the latter moved on to continue his quests.

Lu Li found a robotic chicken crashed at the head of the river near Skulk Rock.

“I need you to move OOX-17/TN to an open, safe place so it can begin a lengthy take-off procedure. It has built-in cloaking, but I need time on my end to make it operational again. I need you to escort the robot from its current location to, let’s say, those rocks over there! That should be a perfect place, and long enough to get things online!”

This section of the quest was easy to complete. The requested escorting location was close, and the few waves of Oozelings were easily defeated. Lu Li had quickly completed the second part of the quest.

The third part was to be completed in Feralas.

Feralas was a land of barren mountains filled with monsters who would want to devour you as soon as they saw you. It had no main city, which almost seemed like a trait unique to South Kalimdor. Running through the centre was a lush, L-shaped valley which extended to Desolace in the north and the ocean coast in the west. Towards the south-east region lay the heart of Kalimdor, which was also known as the border of the Thousand Needles.

Lu Li decided to defeat the Ogres.

The Ogres were the biggest threat in the area. They were scrap scavengers and invaders. Some stayed in traditional mounds as many common animals in Azeroth did, while others stayed in traditional caverns like many other Azeroth creatures. The rest were incredibly territorial as they occupied the ruins of the High Elves.

The Ogres hated all creatures apart from themselves, and that was why they immediately charged at Lu Li’s team with murderous intent as soon as they spotted them.

Lu Li was incredibly disappointed to find there were no desirable underlings around, most likely because defeating a group of elite type monsters wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. The truth was, Feralas was still a very isolated map despite the game’s massive player base.

“Oh? I actually found it...”

Remnant Dream approached the corpse, and was surprised by the quest item she had looted.

She knew she was quite lucky, but she would not have expected to obtain the tracker for OOXX-22/FE from the first monster she defeated.

“Dreamy, why don’t you join my guild? Whatever it takes for you to join us, name it. Would you like a pet? The guild will pay for every cent you spend training it.”

Water Fairy’s shameless attempt at poaching Remnant Dream in front of Lu Li left her bewitched.

“Too bad you didn’t go for the First Clear,” Lu Li boasted.

Water Fairy rolled her eyes; it was futile to argue with a guy with zero tact. Although they were just joking, Lu Li wasn’t wrong. The only way to maximise Remnant Dream’s potential as a lucky looter was for her to loot from the First Clear.

The parent body of the homing robot was in a cave near Feral Scar Vale, with a few monsters accompanying it.

This was a trap. Players were better off killing all the monsters straight from the start. Otherwise, they would destroy the homing robot along with the tracker. If the robot was defeated, the players would have to restart the entire quest.

After clearing out the few monsters waiting in the cave, Lu Li stuffed the tracker inside the homing robot.

“I need you to move OOX-17/TN to an open, safe place so it can begin a lengthy take-off procedure. It has built-in cloaking, but I need time on my end to make it operational again. I need you to escort the robot from its current location to, let’s say, the dock along the Forgotten Coast! That should be a perfect place, and long enough to get things online!”

The quests would finally be completed after sending off this homing robot.

The three once again returned to Booty Bay.

Three homing robots surrounded Oglethorpe Obnoticus. They seemed to be fixed up, as they no longer looked as worn out and broken as when they were first discovered.

“What an extraordinary invention,” Lu Li complimented sincerely.

“And thank you all for finding and bringing them back,” Oglethorpe Obnoticus said. “I shall now give you your reward. There are three rewards, and you may choose to obtain two of them,”

Two?

Shouldn’t they have been choosing one amongst three? Lu Li felt uneasy, but he wasn’t going to pass up such generous rewards. He chose the compound scroll and robotic chicken.

As for the Dark Gold armor, there was obviously no way Lu Li would have chosen that.

He could at least have Lu Xin play with the robotic chicken. Since the kid couldn’t participate in battles, he could only find something else to distract her with. Both Water Fairy and Remnant Dream had the same idea.

Two pieces of unique armor were hard to find, even for Remnant Dream. She still hadn’t gotten her second badge, but with a partner like Hachi Chan who was basically her Doraemon, it was only a matter of time.

This quest was actually quite useful, so Lu Li decided to advertise it in his guild after he returned.

Upon obtaining the compound scroll, Lu Li selected the badge and pocket watch.

Adventurer’s Exploration Badge (Unique): Agility +10%, Movement Speed +10%, Effect: Use, Nullifies all movement-bound effects and all controlling skills every 2 minutes. Level Requirement: N/A, Durability: N/A.

Ragnarok (Unique): Speeds up healing speed by 50% when within 5 yards of a player with Dawn of All Beings. May summon user of Dawn of All Beings up to 3 times per day. Durability: N/A.

Nameless Badge (Unique, nameable) Agility +12%, Movement Speed +12%, Effect 1: Use, Nullifies all movement-bound effects and all controlling skills every 2 minutes. Effect 2: Speeds up healing speed by 50% when accompanied by a player with Dawn of All Beings. Effect 3: May summon user of Dawn of All Beings up to 3 times per day. Level Requirement: N/A, Durability: N/A.

A small line of text was written underneath: “Can be extracted into Adventurer’s Exploration Badge and Ragnarok.”

It was not a simple compound. What originally would only add 10% to both Agility and Movement Speed had now become 12%. Though the Ragnarok originally required two users to be within 5 yards of each other, they now only had to be in-game to use it.

And of course, being able to name his new item was a plus.
